So someone on the boat had a diving accident so bad he’s had hours in recompression chambers and unlikely to ever get fully back to normal because it was so long between the accident and treatment, yet she recommended the diving company still.

I’m no Zanna, I’ve only been diving 5 years and just got a measly 20 dives in my logbook but I’ve never heard of anyone having an incident that bad. Or dive schools at least have medical plans to get people to chambers asap after anything happens.

Zanna, there’s a fucking war happening. People in this country are having to choose heating their family homes over feeding themselves. And you are asking us to give money to your friend who like you; has just been on a multiple thousand pound diving trip??? CUNT!!!!!!! Why can’t people see who she is!!!! Is she for fucking real asking people to donate for Phil's emergency treatment in the Maldives? I am angry on so many fucking levels right now! Don't get me wrong that is shit for Phil but come on.

  • There is a war going on on our door step that is a far more worthy cause for people to donate to.
  • We all saw that prices of that trip, Phil is hardly strapped for cash. If you can afford a holiday to the Maldives get proper insurance.
  • Zanna could donate far more than £300 if it was really that important to her.

Yeah exactly. Nothing to get back for. She could have stayed there and drawn some attention to it especially as she also had a medical emergency in the Maldives. Madness not to have the best insurance available if he apparently saved for this trip for 10 years…

I don't think that influencers should feel they have to share meaningless stories about how much their heart is breaking for people in Ukraine (becuase lets face it, stuff like that is pretty pointless). But she should be sharing resources for people to help out the 2 million refugees that have now left Ukraine, the longer it goes on the more suspicious it becomes. Zanna the secret oligarch?

I am fine with her sharing the fundraiser for her buddy (her donating a meager 300 quid is a slap in the face to him, but that's another story), but she should also be fundraising for Ukraine. If she's a secret Putin supporter (honestly nothing would surprise me with this asshole of a person) she wouldn't even need to make it political, donating to the Red Cross or the UNHCR is about helping people suffering, regardless of who they are. None of those organizations would turn away a Russian, for example. But no, she's somehow pretending that Ukraine isn't going down in flames.

I so wish I could yell in her face that she's a waste of human space and of a platform.

Oh yeah exactly - I think a lot of influencers think they need to bombard their social with the news to show they're empathetic whereas all they need to do is share a fundraiser or a donation link - or point back to an account with better information on the topic. Even if it means one person will decide to donate by seeing it on their socials, it would be worth it. I just find it weird there's been nothing from her.

Sorry Zambo, but why don’t you forgo your next ££££ holiday and send him a chunk yourself? Since you’ve just booked another megabucks dive trip for next year and a birthday trip and and and…we don’t all have money kicking around but you DEFINITELY do. Or say, your next ad fee could be donated? Plenty of ways you could PERSONALLY help without begging from us. Better that he gets the help he needs, you get to help him and you miss one fee or holiday….??

Edit to say ok she's sent £300. But really...

Mind blown... how can you go on a dive trip like this and NOT get specialist dive insurance which covers the costs of decompression chambers etc?
It's not a huge cost - dive insurance costs about £35 for 2 weeks. I'd have expected the dive company ensure people have proper insurance before these trips!! He has decompression sickness type 2, and I can't help but think that it could have somehow been prevented...

Side note, love how Phil is such a "good friend" - sure - after being stuck with the same group of people on a boat for 2 weeks ...

Her continued silence on Ukraine is as bad as the UK govt approving 50 visas for Ukrainian refugees and calling it a day.

I also hate her holier than thou attitude when donating £300 to her ‘mate’ is probably comparable to me donating about 30p when we compare income/assets etc. Ant’s (not Zanna’s ) house alone is probably worth more than what I’d earn in two working lifetimes.

also 90% of people on that go fund me have donated since she posted that story a few hours ago (literally about 100 people) which shows what a difference she can make by sharing these things!!!

whilst it’s sad for Phil and it must be shit, it’s surprising he didn’t get travel insurance when there’s currently a global health crisis, cost of living crisis, a pandemic and a war - none of these things are ‘unprecedented’. Even if you disregard all that, who the fuck doesn’t get travel insurance when you’re going on an actual adventure holiday? If he really has saved for years, couldn’t he save any extra for travel insurance?!

Methinks Zanna is a little bit annoyed with the internet today....

Also, I've done many diving trips and liveaboard trips and yes you have to make sure the insurance is in place and stick to the letter of the limitations of that insurance. As above, it's not expensive but the more remote an area you are, the higher the risk of needing medi-evac. Something's gone wrong here and so far, it's not clear what that is.

I actually do think Zanna is thick. She’s so ditsy and has no clue how the war will affect us all and I bet hasn’t read anything about it other than a few insta posts. She reads books but they’re usually ones that sing into her echo chamber and are about white womens’ issues and “how to be a boss CEO”. She’s sitting in her paid for house surrounded by free stuff planning her next holidays which are subsidised by her mug followers who pay her to go on them. In her eyes she has no reason or need to understand it.
