Could I please have some recommendations for tinted moisturiser or something along those lines, I'm planning to completely ditch the foundation this summer.

I am just off for my first ever botox - nervous!! 🤣. Just having my crows feet done for now then will progress to brow and frown lines eventually.
I've also booked a lash lift and tint for March.

2023 the year I prioritise myself 🤣
How did you get on, I’m 43 and it’s definitely on my list to get done.

Easy peasy, I was in and out in about 15 minutes, probably 10 minutes of that was the lady talking through the procedure, filling out consent forms etc. It didnt hurt at all. Under my eyes made my eyes water a tiny bit but thats all. I done my research and found a lady who has hundreds of 5 star reviews and is a registered nurse so felt really at ease rather than one of these back street people that use cheap product.
I really want 1ml in my lips as they are really thin but because I'm allergic to wasp stings she said I couldn't just incase it didn't take and I need them dissolved, it would cause an allergic reaction and I'd end up in A&E to have it removed.
Forehead and frown lines next when I can afford it 😆.
Go for it, what have you got to lose 😆 ( apart from money 😆). Can take 2 weeks to notice a difference, i keep checking everyday anyway 😉

Hey, I’m loving this thread! Does anyone have recommendations for SPF suitable for brown skin? All sunscreens seem to leave a white cast or make me go grey, and it makes me feel the need to wear makeup to cover it, I cba! Thank you in advance 💕
I like the cereva spf 50 morning cream - find it sinks in well :)

Anyone recommend a good nail polish? I’m trying to take a break from shellac and any I’ve got are crap just no shine and chip easily
I really like the Rimmel Super Gel range. I tend to go for the shade ‘English rose’ which is clear with a slight hint of pink. Two thin coats plus the top coat does me a good 5-7+ days. I do keep my nails fairly short though, no longer than the tip of my finger, so they don’t get bashed/chipped easily. I work in a hospital and it seems to do really well at surviving all the hand sanitiser and hand washing!

Hiya, this is my first time posting on this thread! Love all the tips!

I'm looking for recommendations for primer, foundation and concealer. I find a lot of primers pill with my foundation (even if they claim to have the same base) and I'm finding my foundation and concealer aren't full coverage enough for my early *ahem* mid 30s skin, and slide off by the end of the day. My complexion is similar to that of Casper the friendly ghost, so any recommendations for a good pale shade range is appreciated!

Any hairdressers here able to help answer a question re hair dye and developer ratio?
I trained as a hairdresser many moons ago... we only used Wella Koleston in college but if I remember correctly the ratio for that is 1:1 unless it was highlift tint (one of the special blond range which are the number twelve tints - 12.0, 12.1, etc) which was 2 parts developer and 1 part tint.

We were also told to use 3% or 10 vol to cover grey, 6% or 20 vol for darker shades, 9% or 30 vol for reds and 12% or 40 vol for highlift tints and blonds.

Oh and if you're going from blonde to brown you need to pre-pigment your hair to prevent it from looking a weird khaki colour 🤦🏼‍♀️ this has stuck in my head from a very bitter experience. Copper tones should be used for anything upto a shade 6, and red tones for anything from a 5 to a 1

Sorry, I got a bit carried away then 😂 apologies if I seemed patronising, just thought I'd share my knowledge, however it's probably a little dated as I left college in 2007 💜

Good in what way? My nails are weak and splitting after 4 months of gels 😭

Side note - you’re afraid sounds so glam! Does anyone else wonder what we all look like? 😂
It gives them a nice French manicure without the pink colouring. Really smart. It’s also a nail conditioner. I wear it for a week, then redo my gels and it seems to keep them from splitting too much.

Bit of a weird one, does anyone here work nights and has any tips for me either on how to sleep properly or to look vaguely normal? I only do them for 7 nights per month but by the end of them I look and feel awful- my skin looks dull, my face is puffy, and I don’t have the energy to do a skin routine when I get in from work- I end up spending the day sitting on my sofa eating chocolate and crisps instead of cooking proper meals and any gym trips I make are very half arsed!

I love all the routines!! Wish you guys put the name of the products used!
My very very very lazy morning routine is:
- snooze for 15-30 minutes
- get up, open windows
- rinse my face with just cold water
- coffee and breakfast, in bed, 30 minutes, between tattle life and looking into a wall questionning my whole existence 🤣
- brush teeth
- Eye cream, La RochePosay toleriane
- SPF Eucerin oil control
- Foundation make up for ever ultra HD just on the T zone, with a misted beauty blender with Avene thermal water
- Mascara Maybelline Sky high lashes
- sometimes eyeliner (KVD)
- the lip color of the day (always Mac, the formula is super hydrating)
- my hair does whatever my hair wants for the day. I do a Brazilian lissage once/twice a year and just do some curls for volume, usually the night before a date or something. They last until the day after.

Put on whatever works with the shade of lip I did 🤣 and out the door. 1 hour. I find that this is super minimal and makes me look somehow alive! Voilà!

Ok, UKLash update. Very pleased with how they’re looking but my left (right in photo) is definitely less full. Wearing mascara but you get the idea. Mascara is Glossier, so not particularly lash lengthening.

Anyone any recommendations for body skincare apart from moisturiser.

Getting married this year and want to look my best, my upper arm are quite freckly but at the same time can look red and have a weathered appearance.
Is there any products I can use to improve even skin tone?

My MUA used a bit of sally hansen airbrush legs on one of my bridesmaids for her chest and arms As she had some scaring from Acne, it gave a really nice airbrushed kind of look.

Otherwise I would suggest regular scrubing to get rid of all the dead skin and body brushing gives a great glow.

I really like Ameliorate's body lotion for the bumps I get on my upper arms (Keratosis Polaris). I've also had luck with AHA body lotions before too.

Can you say more about the foundation part? I’m rubbish with sponges but am tempted to start trying what you described… and you’ve also inspired me to try more lipstick!

For everyone using UKLash, how long did it take before you noticed a difference? Bought it on your lovely ladies' recommendation and on my third week now, think it's doing something but nothing dramatic yet!
I’ve been using it since the beginning of the year and I’m really starting to notice a difference now. It’s been a slow journey for me and they’re not particularly noticeable to anyone else but I’m chuffed to bits with them. I have pretty pants eyelashes

I work nights maybe 3-4 times a month. When you get home wash your face with a hydrating cleanser and lather on a skin mask and some hyaluronic acid. Trust me it’ll be worth it. I know you’re knackered but it’ll make you feel so much better. It takes less than 2 minutes x

Have you considering trying vitamin C? It’s usually used on the face but I had fabulous results with the inkey list vit C and EGF. There’s nothing stopping you from trying. It won’t do any harm 🤗

I’ve just massively stripped down my skincare routine as I’ve introduced tretinoin into the mix.

AM
Cleanse with cerave foaming cleanser
Hyaluronic acid
Weleda skin food light mixed with a pump of cosrx snail mucin essence
SPF
Primer
Makeup

PM
Remove makeup with super facialist vitamin C cleansing oil
Double cleanse with cerave foaming cleanser or SA smoothing cleanser (SA on days I don’t use tret)
Hyaluronic acid
Estée Lauder advanced night repair
Weleda skin food light mixed with snail mucin essence
(Every 3 nights I’ll sub weleda for la roche posay cicaplast Baumé and snail mucin mixed, then a layer of tret, then another layer of cicaplast and snail mucin)
I’ll gradually build up to using tret daily, but it’s a long process as it can damage your skin barrier

As I love reading everyone's routines, here comes mine. I work from home full-time, which has greatly reduced my feeling of needing to wear make-up to work and I very rarely wear it these days.

Morning:
  • Wash hair (daily), shampoos differ
  • Condition hair when I feel like it (Maria Nila Structure Repair or Balea Plex Care)
  • CeraVe Moisturizing Cleanser for my face
  • Dove Beauty Bar to wash with
  • Shave when and where necessary 🤪

After showering I typically use
  • Vitamin C serum (Balea) or Matrixyl Serum (The Ordinary) on alternating days
  • Polyglutamic Acid Serum (Inky List)
  • Sunscreen (either Bioré, which is my favourite, or Cosrx and Nivea, but i don't like those, won't recommend for combo skin)
  • some silk powder to reduce shine
  • brush eyebrows and curl lashes
  • dry hair and throw it up

Evening
  • wash my face with my Foamie Lavender bar
  • I do Skin Cycling, so I'll either peel (The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner), or Treat (Vitamin C serum by Balea or Reviderm Repair Mask) or Calm (Niacinamide serum by The Ordinary)
  • Lash serum (The Ordinary)
  • Lip chapstick by Alverde

I have some other stuff lying around that I like to use, but don't use daily and I want to get better at that.
