Skin care - one of the best thing you can do is cut out alcohol altogether.
Oh I agree, I don't have spots often now after using skin and me for ages but hormonal spots and post alcohol spots are still a thingSkin care - one of the best thing you can do is cut out alcohol altogether.

i have similar breakouts (pcos and hypo here too) and really rate the superfacialist green salicylic cleanser! apply to a wet face and rinse well, really improved my spots without stripping my dry skin or producing more oil. i use their oil cleanser* to remove makeup and spf with one of these microfibre cloths first if wearingI’m looking for a bit of advice please. I’m having a lot of issues with my skin and I’m stuck on what I should do. I’ve been trying Skin and Me for just over a month and it’s not helping at all and tbh I think is making things worse. My main issues are:
- Acne on chin, jaw line and cheeks (hormonal?)
- Closed comedones on cheeks
- Faint melasma under eyes which seems to be getting slightly worse (this is new to my skin but is believed to be a side effect of hypothyroidism)
- Skin type seems to have changed from normal/dry to oily T-zone
I have PCOS and hypothyroidism and haven’t been on birth control for over a year. I’ve tried to keep my routine as gentle as possible and have been using either a cleansing balm or micellar water to remove makeup, Simple cleanser, Skin and Me daily doser(standard prescription of tretinoin, azelaic acid clindamycin) and Simple moisturisers.
Should I continue with Skin and Me in the hopes it gets better? Any products in my routine I should change? Do I need to admit defeat and see a GP/Derm?
The Superfacialist oil cleanser broke me out so badly, unfortunately.i have similar breakouts (pcos and hypo here too) and really rate the superfacialist green salicylic cleanser! apply to a wet face and rinse well, really improved my spots without stripping my dry skin or producing more oil. i use their oil cleanser* to remove makeup and spf with one of these microfibre cloths first if wearing
*to shave my face with an eyebrow razor too if you've been blessed with that symptom!
What age are you? Sounds like could possibly be a hormone related issue.I’ve always had ridiculously strong hair, I’ve been bleaching it for at least 12 years (maybe 3x a year max) & I’ve used GHDs for over half of my life (I’m a 90s straight hair gal) however I’ve started to go grey so needing to do it more. I went to a new hairdressers just after lockdown and seen her twice - I’ve since returned to my original hairdresser but I was bought an airwrap a year ago. In the last year my hair has completely snapped and I have no idea what’s caused it, or how I can help it.
I haven’t had much heat on it at all - I don’t straighten it the way I used too, I don’t rate the dyson so I’ve used it a handful of times. To be honest this is probably the least I’ve done my hair in my whole life and it’s in the worst condition, does that even make sense? Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to prevent the breakage.
32, just recently diagnosed with coeliac disease (it’s taken almost 10 years for that though) so while I am deficient in all vitamins I have been for a long long time. I now wonder if this is just my age and nothing I’ve necessarily done or could have prevented. I don’t take any birth control but again, I haven’t for maybe 5/6 yearsWhat age are you? If you’re a 90s straightener gal you must be about the same age as me so welcome to peri menopause my hair sounds exactly the same as yours and is now breaking off in tufts all around my temples and has gone much thinner, my hairdresser told me it’s a clear sign of the start of the menopause, the joy of being female!!I’ve always had ridiculously strong hair, I’ve been bleaching it for at least 12 years (maybe 3x a year max) & I’ve used GHDs for over half of my life (I’m a 90s straight hair gal) however I’ve started to go grey so needing to do it more. ELF Camo concealer is brilliant for the price. They also do a hydrating version. I also like Dior Backstage for under the eyes!Does anyone have any concealer recommendations?

Skin care - one of the best thing you can do is cut out alcohol altogether.
It reddens my face. You don’t realise until you stop. My skin is now clear. It is a poison so it’s unsuprising that it has a physical effect.
I used to be a heavy social drinker and stopped completely a while back and now I drink now and again. Not only can I not tolerate alcohol like used to (it was never a problem before) never had many hangovers in 30 years. But my skin the next day is a right mess, that alone has stopped me drinking, especially red wine.
I like the Nyx liquid for budget and the Boing Benefit solid for best I think the Boing solid version does the best job for both under eye and blemish. Hard to find one that does both.Does anyone have any concealer recommendations?
