When a couple of women I know who are my age started having grandkids around two years ago, that made me feel old. Being old enough to be a grandparent is definitely old, no two ways about it

Agree. It's quite unnerving. When the child was born, my friends were quite low key and some seemed a bit non-plussed and not enjoying being called Granny but after around eight months they are unavailable because they're babysitting - and seem happy about it!!!!When a couple of women I know who are my age started having grandkids around two years ago, that made me feel old. One of them is now looking after her grandchild for three whole days a week and she used to be a permanent fixture in my exercise classes.
