Nipped in Tesco afterwards and got some bits for the weekend including some ‘spooky’ cookies. Might eat the whole bag!

Hello everyone

So looking forward to the weekend after a crazy week at work. Want to chill tonight with a movie - any halloween related movie recommendations? (I didn’t use to watch movies until recently so I have probably missed out on a lot!)

Tomorrow going to a museum in London and seeing a friend for a coffee. Can’t wait for a lie in tbh.

Hello hello, I hope everyone is doing well

I haven't really felt like updating this week as had a bit of a tough one, though it's nothing compare to what others are going through. Anyways I'll just give some highlights of my week:

Started watching S2 of Ted Lasso. I wanted to start weeks ago but Goofy Prince insisted on waiting until it was all released so we could binge it, so should finish it over the weekend. I'm loving it - I feel the more I watch it the more I love it as the characters develop.
Booked tickets to see the new Bond movie tomorrow night.
Went into the office on Wednesday and there were quite a few of us in so was good to see people, catch up and get some chat/gossip!
Got the ferry home from the office with Goofy Prince which I love doing. I generally commute on the subway as it's much quicker because I'm a mile away from the ferry but the ferry is so much more fun! It's got a bar on board so we got a drink - but it's only a 10min ride so half the fun is basically running on, buying the drink, going upstairs for the view and downing your drink before getting off 10mins later

@nbt hope your boy is doing ok. I think it's your hen do this weekend? If so have the best time and tell us all about it next week!

Hi,,,

Had a really busy day today, one of you already knows that, anyway, half the work was covid related.
At one point I was in Chelmsford but I had to goto Epping afterwards so the sat nav was working hard
today. Yesterday was also busy, I hope this is trending because it's been quiet for some time now.

Petrol is still a big issue, I have a new plan for getting my fuel, I top up in London so next day I will
have at least a 3 quarter tank which is more than enough.

My BIG HONDA has been sitting around with no fuel for weeks but I was able to fill her up tonight,
my local garage had fuel so now I have all 3 bikes with fuel. This is going to rumble on for weeks so
I've taken this bizarre step.

monday I went to see the new bond film, honestly it was so good I may go again
Enzo the poodle has been getting me up twice a night I am so tired at all times, I also haven’t been able to stop eating pasta all week I feel the size of a house but also pasta is life. Got my hair and nails done Wednesday so feeling fresh
i hate winter a lot but bought some winter clothes and boots this week, I also bought a Burberry coat that had been worn once for an absolute steal on eBay, went to tk maxx and despite not being a big Xmas fan I do like their decs, also got a Ralph Lauren hoodie from the kids section-bargain!
I’m going out for Thai tonight with a friend I haven’t seen for over a year so that will be nice. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend

Happy Saturday

I went for my hair colouring & cutting. Turned out to be quite the experience…. The lady who normally does my colour rang in sick so another colourist had to do it (it’s fine, I only have a dark brown). Was getting it shampooed off and the water stopped working The junior just managed to rinse the rest of my conditioner off before it completely stopped working but I felt so bad for all the other people in there sat with foils and stuff on their head I saw one woman leave the salon with dye on her hair and get in her car to wash it at home They didn’t charge me for my colour which I thought was really sweet so only paid for my cut!

Nipped into TK Maxx after to find a new home gift for my mate. I got her a candle in a fancy purple jar as that’s her favourite colour. Also got her a key ring for her new house keys

Currently watching s2 of Sex Education but the temptation to nap is real. Having a chilled evening at home with my Mum & brother, think we will order a Chinese as he loves Chinese chips

Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing well and having a chilled weekend.

Had a very up and down week, got some bad news about my uncle. Basically his cancer has spread and the whole family are trying to rally round as best they can. He lives in Andover with his girlfriend, we’re all back home in Glasgow so it’s hard, especially on my nana who is worried sick about him and just wants to be close to him, naturally. I spent all of Thursday in a bit of a daze, overthinking things and crying on/off. I’ve also been filling in the dreaded DLA form for littlest which just drains me emotionally because you basically have to write, in detail, everything that your child struggles with and seeing it all laid out like that can be tough.

Anyway, it’s miserable weather here which suits me fine but a bit tit as it’s also half-term here and the kids are off school so there isn’t much to do. Did some Halloween crafts yesterday. Littlest wasn’t that keen but eldest made a witch’s cat which looks very like our own black cat. He did a great job and it’s now pinned to the fridge like all the other masterpieces before it.

Today we went to a party supplies shop to buy Halloween costumes for the kids but they didn’t have littlest’s size in stock unfortunately so I’ve had to order them online instead - they’re going as Mario and Luigi. They’ve never been trick or treating before and are quite wary of being out in the dark, but OH and I are both taking them so hopefully they’ll see how fun it can be.

Having homemade burgers for dinner and got some snacks for later and Strictly’s Movie Night, looking forward to it.

Sorry for abandoning this thread! My head is all over the shop ATM. Not much happens with my days to write about of interest 🥲

I went ‘back’ to work yesterday - back to work being my desk at home still haha. Had a quick meeting this morning and my PhD supervisors are really understanding. Obviously I only have 14 months left of my PhD funding so I need to complete my thesis by then but i’ll do it!

Got my driving test in 3 weeks. Had a lesson yesterday where my instructor said if I drive like that on my test I’ll pass with no minors. Just hope I can channel that confidence into my test I’m eyeing up a Hyundai i10 on Auto Trader so I’m thinking positively!

How are we all? Have we got any Halloween plans?

It’s lovely to be back here, thank you for the welcome.

Yes, all is well here. Have builder in now for the next month or so. Laying slabs this week and then he will be doing electrics for the following weeks. He works alone, but his work is top-notch and he’s very much in demand. It’s so hard to find quality builders these days and those who don’t contract everything out. He learnt the trade from his father and has been taught well. Also he is trustworthy and well-mannered and that really counts for a lot these days. I wouldn’t use anyone else now.

Dentist appointment this afternoon, never anything to look forward to, not to mention getting stitched up on the price!

Still have not won the lottery…I won a tenner last night, but I don’t think that will stretch far to share on here.

Hi everyone, I’ve totally forgotten to update this thread due to The Week from Hell™️

My brother had to stay in hospital for 2 nights after his biopsy on his lymph node as he needed immediate treatment. I had to rush around like a headless chicken packing him and my Mum an overnight bag. Due to Covid () I wasn’t able to see him on the ward so had to drop it off. Was really tough. I also had my Nana to look after so let’s just say I’ve been busy

On Friday night I thought I would order myself a McDonalds. Decided to go for a quarter pounder with cheese, delicious you may think… WRONG. Look what came (viewer discretion advise):

I wasn’t happy at all. I got a refund but still! It just sent me over the edge after The Week From Hell™️.

Thankfully my Mum and my brother are now home. We’re all completely shattered so taking it easy this weekend. He still needs more treatment but we’re taking everyday at a time.

Hellooo everyone,

I am still recovering from the weekend not hungover, just verrrry tired. Cannot hack this staying up late socialising these days. Would love to blame lockdown but I think it’s my age, ha.

I had the BEST weekend! We drank lots of cocktails (all made by our own fair hands, so think double and triple measures haha), had a little Sports Day competition, got all dressed up, ate Chinese, grazing type food and afternoon tea, played games and went in the hot tub. The hot tub was amazing! It was a big swim in one with colour changing lights and jets that spouted from one side to the other. We really made the most of it. Was in it all hours and we set our alarms for 0630 on Monday morning before we left, so we could have one final soak with the sunrise

I think one of my favourite moments was the Saturday night when we were all getting dressed up. I don’t miss going out drinking really, but I do miss the getting ready together/pre drinks thing. So we all had music playing in our own rooms and then everyone came to our room once they’d finished getting ready and we drank and chatted. My best friend waved my hair and did my make up for me

I just want to do it all again!!

Not much has happened since. I’m back on the Slimming World train because I’ve overdone it for waaaay too long now. Had parents evening last night and the boy is doing well so that’s nice to hear. His head is so much better too. It changed so much in the space of a week though with the swelling and now he has a black eye. But to be honest, he’s loved showing it off to his mates.

Ahhh glad you had a fab weekend @nbt - that hot tub looks amazing!

I really need this Mercury retrograde to end, it’s been the absolute worse. My tumble dryer broke this morning on top of everything I’ve got going on. I lost my rag and had a mini-breakdown. I didn’t sleep very well last night either so I just got really upset and dramatic about it 🥲 It’s getting mended next week so that’s good!

Did some work - going through my method chapter corrections what my supervisors sent me 2 months ago I’m not behind on my work but it’s just tasks like that I find draining, as I take the comments quite personally.

Currently in bed watching Married at First Sight Australia, the thread is such a laugh on here!
