Valentines Day = Hogwash

1. you should love them any time of the year not just 1 day
2.spending on overpriced meals, flowers and other items is not loving someone, it's just blatant consumerism

A lot of the transgender movement is aimed at children. At that age children aren’t even straight, let alone trans and have no sexual appetite at all! Why do people take their kids to those pride events so they can witness half naked leather bound men, leather bound dog people on leads, human horses with tail butt plugs in and other such bizarre fetishes? As I’ve stressed before the pride events seem to have been hijacked by weird fetish and trans rather than your average gays/lesbians anyway and the movement is on its way into incorporating pedophilia as a sexual orientation… that’s what the + subliminally stands for. People who take their children to such events really need looking at tbh. It’s abuse.
I do agree about the sexualisation of gay pride events being an issue, not even just for families with kids attending but many adults too. Lots of LGBT people don't even like how the promotion of it is so alcohol focused and bars/club related. What are younger LGBT people supposed to do, or people who don't party or drink alcohol.

The sexualisation of Pride is overstated, though. I've been to plenty of Pride events and not seen that much.

The right wing media (e.g. the Daily Mail) will always focus on the sexual aspect to shock their readers and reinforce their narrow minded opinions.

Where I used to live during college in Ireland there was a “sober pub” aka a coffee shop right in the middle of where the pubs are in town that opened until midnight, that was extremely lgbtq+ friendly. Most of the people who went in during the weekend nights were of that community and it was lovely safe space for them to be. Found out it closed during the first wave of Covid, which is a shame. The world definitely needs more of them.

As much as this is true, I still love the day as just a day to spoil someone or do something nice/extra for 1 day. Same with Mothers Day, Fathers Day etc. Even birthdays, its 1 day to really spoil/celebrate someone. I love it 🥰

I wouldn’t say it is “right wing” to state the obvious. Nor are right wing views always “narrow”. Leftie, pro-trans, vax addict ones are, they don’t know their arse from their elbow. Pride is very overtly sexualised. It is about sexuality and sexual preference. Children should not be attending such tit.

Left vs right - its worth remember there are plenty on either side with more moderate views, as well as the easy to target extreme ones.

Every day (week) of the year is pride day (week) or MH awareness day (week)😐

Well, remember it's an opinion thread. :D

A very small amount of Pride is sexual. And I say that as someone who's been to plenty of Pride events, rather than just reading about them or seeing select photos.

It's not all like that and to tar the whole thing with the same brush is a way of demonising it and making it, and by extension, lesbian gay and bisexual people, be seen as somehow wrong. It's pretty transparent.

I don’t think Adele would be as successful if Amy Winehouse was alive.
Amy was tabloid fodder before she died. She was well on her way to ruining her career by bleeping up on stage. I think she was even getting boos a lot of the time because she was just wasted.

There is definitely some exagerration, totally agree. I havent seen a huge amount either at pride events, more so in bars and clubs geared towards LGBT community. Sometimes these are the only spaces explicitly labelled as such and the atomsphere can be off putting for people who just want the opportunity to meet people or hang out with their friends

This sounds amazing, definitely something we need more of. Such a shame to hear it closed

thats so sad even though I am not part of the community my bf doesn't drink and I have almost given up and one thing that has always annoyed me about London is the fact that coffeeshops etc shut at 7 at the latest...there really needs to be somewhere that caters for non drinkers

Remember my post about the guy in NYC I know who is poncing off everyone... apparently he is off to the UK in a couple of weeks to stay with a friend but even so there's a flight etc to pay for..

He's posting buy me a KOFI...

Haven’t had an ushering shift in three weeks and am currently stressed TF out about how to manage my trip AND rent AND bills AND groceries. Sigh. Send a playwright some love? And Ko-fi? Or book a lesson! Or come to Sunday Soiree and tip!

MY. DEAR. GOD.

If you are genuinely having trouble paying your rent and buying groceries, perhaps don't fly thousands of miles at several hundred bucks..

Jaysus the entitlement/poncification. I swear nothing about this guy is consistent.. he doesn't need fancy trips across the Atlantic to mooch of his rich British friends.. he need to sort himself out

Yes do remember it is an opinion thread please.
I gave mine.

Extreme lefties aren’t very bright. I will say it again Pride is about one’s sexuality, so a huge part of it is sexual.

But that implies anything about heterosexuality is also hugely sexual, given that's a sexuality, too.

How many Pride events have you actually been to?

Is heterosexually paraded about non stop? Do we feel the need parade our sexuality through the streets?
Do we wave around flags that have an underlying sinister motive?

No because heterosexuals aren't discriminated against solely for their sexuality.

You've made my point for me. :/

I'd agree. Heterosexuality is by vast, the normal in Society. People kiss in car parks, hold hands , show affection and love in the parks, etc - and all as normal. Which of course, it is . The vast number of society- by far- are ' straight'.
I don't have a problem with homosexuality ( in all forms, names, and genders, whatever) waving a flag or doing a fun parade.
People are still discriminated against, today, in 2022.
Live & let live is my motto.

I don't agree with politicising sexual typing , and I don't agree with commercialisation of the Pride gatherings. They were better as free attendancees & not taken over ( and charged entrance fees for etc ) by big business.

Im so confused by your post. What has pdophilia got to do with LGBT+ at all? To lump all that together in your post is so ignorant. And also you’re confusing gender and sexuality. They’re not the same thing. People in the LGBT+ community don’t want pdophilia associated with them at all, that’s a very old fashioned thing to say to demonise the community.

Its not that pdo's are a part of lgbt, its that they're trying to include themselves by saying its a natural attraction like homosexuality is.

oh yes I agree there, but the OP said that the + subliminally stands for pedophilia and that’s just not the case.
