yeh exactly and if she has barely cut down on travel during a pandemic let'sbe honest she never willI just can't anymore with these influencers talking about sustainability and then going flying. We all need to make sacrifices from now on. The climate is in crisis. Why is no one acting? Everyone's just talking
Exactly. No Jade you didn't uproot your life, negotiate visas, apply for jobs, find housing, learn the language and start a new expat life.I also hate how she says she ‘moved’ somewhere
Like… no you ‘went to’ uni there for a couple of months?
I honestly think I would be more accepting of it if she said it and was going to something like Bristol (using this as an example because I think she had an offer from them?)Exactly. You just did a few weeks of online study in a new location, all of which was organised for you.
Exactly, I’m planning some solo travel right now and it is a lot more affordable than people would think. A lot of people’s parents save for them, this current year turning 18 has a government trust fund of around £1000, even if you can only afford to save a couple hundred you could still take yourself to Edinburgh or London or some city in your own country. I’m sure solo travel is a great opportunity to build your confidence, but so is getting a job or just going to university and just generally growing up. She needs to realise that she IS in a privileged position and her solo travel is not something that everyone can do, at least not to the same extent. Also, I'd say that most people can probably afford to travel alone and gain independence from that. Plus, I assume a lot of people will be taking trains or other public transport during term time back home, and that's more or less some independent travelling too
totally agree, really anything you do alone is a way of growing/changing. Going to a city like Jade did and socialising with people who are (regardless of nationalities) very similar to you in terms of priviledge is not really any better than getting a job in Pret and working with lots of people from everywhere (in my experience anyway)Exactly, I’m planning some solo travel right now and it is a lot more affordable than people would think.
