I did not include Tattle in my previous comment as it is a well moderated forum that allows difference of opinions and stamps on the trolls that personally attack others for holding a difference of opinion. It has been a pleasure so far, to have joined this site last year. Whilst many forums are very good at dealing with hate, harassment and trolling posted by their members, Sadly that is not true of all Internet forums.

DS on the other hand is a completely different kettle of fish - as many DS members on here will also agree with.

If for example I turned round on DS and said that Corbyn was the most dangerous man ever in politics, I would have been jumped on by a good number of people, with personal insults following and numerous attempts to force me out of the discussion and shut down my opinions.

If I complained to the mods on there about harassment and trolling, no action would be taken.

It is not a discussion forum, but an echo chamber of left wing views you **must** agree with - supported and abetted by their moderation team.

There is no pont stamping on social media site such as Facebook and Twitter for hate and trolling of others, when sites such as DS also actively allow it and do nothing about it when complaints are raised.

It should only be those poorly moderated forums that allow this hate to flourish unchallenged that should have something to fear. Not the good ones like Tattle, that do take hate, harassment and trolling seriously.

The problem with DS was it declared a zero policy approach towards racism, sexism, homophobia etc and the mods interpreted that as removing any post flag by ... over zealous.... reporters regardless of context or intent.

I don’t know if you are a member over at AV forums but it’s fascinating to see the same names following the same MO on their politics section.

I'm glad someone else said this cause I didn't want to be that person and this is probably controversial to say, but Katie Price and many other women have been bringing this to attention for years and running campaigns. Bobby Norris from Towie also has a campaign regarding homophobic abuse online and the anonymity, after the racism of the World Cup, it was brought to attention again and of course what's happened is really horrific but it's like... what now a middle class white man has died suddenly the MP's want to change something? Doesn't matter that it's been an issue for years. Just wasn't affecting the right group apparently?

It's gained traction because another MP (one who has used language like slitting Theresa May's throat) jumped on it. They could be using this tragedy to push forward something quickly to curb rights. Silencing the little people that point out uncomfortable truths must be a dream for many politicians.

People like Katie price want a law to ban all negative opinions on them. It's nothing even related to the online harms act. Very dictorial and it'll never happen.

Politicians need to look at themselves to be better. They're always using toxic language and saying stuff we'd never let people use on tattle.

Of course that depends if those uncomfortable truths are actually truths, or are assumptions, misunderstood analysis, opinions, exaggerations, or outright lies. Because very often the little people don’t actually know the truth. Politicians and people in power have the civil service and other organisations to supply them with pages and pages of statistics and analysis which the little people don’t have access to, and probably wouldn’t fully understand if they did.

Also not entirely sure why anyone with truth on their side needs to be anonymous anyhow.

It's a nice thought that the truth will always win. Sadly when dealing with people in power and influence it rarely pans out like that.

After all what's the point of having power if you can't use it to get your own way regardless of if you're in the right?

So so many cases of victims of very serious crimes being threatened into silence by (powerful) perpetrators.

There's nothing new about wanting to silence the plebs and their pesky opinions.

Traditionally I am more Conservative than Labour. However this current bunch are utterly hopeless. I didn't think Boris did a bad job as Mayor of London, although he seems totally out of his depth as PM. Boris and his team come up with utterly batshit ideas, fail to deal with manifesto pledges, yet seems to think his 80 seat majority won't evaporate.

I can't understand how more nursing staff will be put into the NHS. There just isn't anyone else available unless they allow other nationalities visas to work in the UK. And the idea to f fast-tracking training people to join the NHS is farcical. Don't know how that would work.

So who thinks that by reducing the cost of "some" alcoholic beverages will see more alcoholics?

But I still agreed with most of his budget.

The way the NHS staff have been treated of late, does not make people want to become nurses. Grafting your a off through 3 years of university, leave with a lot of student loan debt, struggle to survive whilst at uni but cant really work because you're already working doing placement for free. I mean, I'm surprised people don't burn out by the time they are qualified. My friend qualified as a nurse during the pandemic and she burnt out, she also caught covid and got that really bad to the point she was coughing up blood! She had a ward full of women and she was the nurse in charge with 2 HCAs and it's been like that consistently ever since. She has to do bank shifts to top up her wages where she will eventually burn out again. Its madness.
