Is this the right place to discuss illegal immigration? If not, Mods, please move to a more appropriate place.
I'm just listening to Talk TV and apparently:

The Navy have been intercepting the boats half way across from France and helping them over here safely. The British Navy, however, is now talking of pulling out if the Channel.

Over 15,000 applications from illegal immigrants failed last year but these people remain in the UK.

We spend over £6million a year putting them up in hotels. Some companies are now finding it difficult to find a hotel to book their Xmas parties and have rooms for staff to stay overnight.

They refuse to live in army barracks while their applications to remain here are dealt with. Why do we give in to them.

They refuse to go to Scotland or Wales because it's too cold.

They criticise the UK, yet continue to risk their lives to reach us, complain when they arrive, and don't leave.

Whilst there are good people arriving, there are more and more of them committing crime, and we're paying for their keep at her Majesty's pleasure.

There are over 120 countries coming here illegally!!!

We needs this problem fixing, so I hope our next PM grows some balls and deals with it.

I have to question why we keep allowing this to happen, as what's wrong with them staying in a different safe European country like France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, oh I could go on.

The worry, they say, are the number of Albanians arriving as they could come over legally. Nobody understands what's going on with them.

Lots of people ringing into the show about this with ideas on how to help resolve this.
Wasn’t brexit supposed to solve that issue? 🤣 thought you were meant to have taken back control of the borders to keep the old illegals out!

Its kind of hilarious really. These are the arseholes whose press baron mates told us to 'avoid chaos with Ed Milliband' and painted him as a weirdo because of how he ate a bacon sandwich. Plus the antisemitic bollocks in the Mail that he was the son of 'the man who hated Britain '.
And told us how lazy and stupid the British workforce is.

These 'patriots' who are the party of economic stability, royalty and law and order have lied to the Queen seen off the Queen, laughed at her funeral, cut police numbers, destroyed public services, fucked up the NHS and crashed the pound. Amazing.

There was a time at the beginning of this that I thought I’d be happy to see another woman get the top job. How wrong I was.

I honestly don’t understand what the fuck is going on in the Treasury. Didn’t they sack their most senior advisor a few days ago? Good move, dickheads.

I genuinely hate the Conservative party. Bunch of loonies.
Yes they did but that was a a calculated move because they didn't want him telling them that their plan was a disaster. They want 'yes men' not experts.

I mean, the domestic situation is a fucking mess. Truss is batshit; she’s accountable for it all. She’s a puppet PM now.

Thank god for our civil service which, along with the public sector at large, is enabling some sense of functionality of the state.

It’s incredible that we are at this point. Dangerous too, I think. There’s been a fundamental erosion of trust over a period of time and the irony is that Putin has barely had to do fuck all to us directly. We’ve done it ourselves.

Labour are the biggest racists and misogynists going. I'm a socialist, but I won't vote Labour. At least the Tories don't pretend to be nice, you know what you're getting with them, no pretence 😄

These clowns are going to overplay their hand at this rate, good luck expecting all those new coppers to sort out civil disobedience when they're all earning less than £30k a year. I don't know what they think is going to happen if the majority of people can't afford all their bills at the same time.

Here's a clue ...

It's suggested that crashing the economy to force massive cuts in public spending is a strategy. They want a 'smaller state'.

Was it necessary to make 'allowances' to help the richest 5%?

Their pals will be poised to snap up the remnants of the NHS as private practices 💸

Sadly, they really really won’t be. This country naturally leans more towards conservatism no matter how much they get screwed over by it.
Which is why New Labour did so well. I think this is why Andy Burnham is so popular. He was New Labour, left when Corbyn became leader so is untainted by that and manages to speak for the working people.

It is interesting that when I speak to family or friends Andy Burnham's name keeps coming up as the guy they want. Starmer must be constantly looking over his shoulder.

We all knew this result was coming, but when I heard the actual words, "Liz Truss is our new Prime Minister" I felt very downhearted.

So its took me a few good hours to work out what all this meant today im autistic so not the brightest tool in the shed i work part time 16 (if overtime maybe 20 hrs pw) hours a week and claim working tax credits and pip what does the part time threshold mean for me am i affected 😂 i just cant work it all out
I believe this affects people who work 15 hours or less per week and claim Universal Credit.
Autism doesn’t mean you have low intelligence, the announcements are confusing so don’t put yourself down 🙂

Its an ideological budget - it absolutely isn't going to deliver growth.

I was on a call with the new Secretary of state yesterday and she was asked 'what are your immediate and specific actions to alleviate COL crisis' She said that her plan is all about 'getting people into work' and that she will be 'rampaging through Whitehall tearing up red tape to get people not in work able to work'

Unemployment is at an all time low I think its 4%ish? so how does that help the 96% of people who are in work?

She and her other pals just kept parroting 'getting people into work' as some kind of magic wand.

It is such a boring way to vote in a new leader. Why can't they all compete in a game show like Takeshi's Castle where the winner is crowned Prime Minister.

I honestly don't think any party should be in power for 10+ years. Fresh blood is needed at this point.
