Hi everyone, this is a super helpful forum, so glad I came across it! I recently started using the Clear Blue Ovulation Kit and I typically get the static smiley for one day a month. I read here some people are getting flashing smileys a few days before the static smiley and I’m wondering if my fertility window is a lot shorter than others? Was wondering if anyone else’s went from blank circle immediately to a static smiley? I test once a day in the morning, the day after my period finishes. (I hope this all makes sense, thanks in advance!)
I used them 2 months and I only ever got the circle then a smiley for 1 day.

Not completely relevant but I’ve been told that my job is at risk of redundancy next year. I’m so gutted as it’s going to throw a spanner in the works with my baby plans! I’m all ready with my ovulation strips for our first proper month of trying and now I don’t know what to do ☹

A few people have said “don’t worry you’re only young” (I’m 27) but I’ve been waiting for this ‘right time’ for so long now I’m just so gutted. Part of me is tempted to just start trying anyway.
It’s shit isn’t it - echo what others are saying though, I don’t think there is ever the ideal time! Especially not in 2020 😂 the redundancy stuff is scary though, I went through the same earlier this year (I was very lucky that my job was safe) and it’s not nice thinking of the alternative ie being jobless with a new baby. The waiting and uncertainty is the worst. I hope it all turns out OK for you!

Those of you who have had a MC before, how long did you wait until TTC again? I had a MMC at 8 weeks pregnant 2 weeks ago. My body feels okay now and im no longer bleeding or cramping but emotionally I’m still all over the place - ok one minute, overwhelmed with sadness the next, then angry, then guilty, then ok again! I know it’s very early days and hopefully my emotions will calm down a bit soon.
My partner and I really want another baby (our daughter is nearly 7 and im getting conscious of the ever growing age gap!) and he’s said let’s try again on my next cycle (if I want to). I do want to but I’m terrified of going through all this again so soon. This was our first MMC and hopefully our last but I just feel very anxious about the same thing happening. Obviously though even if we start trying that doesn’t mean it will happen straight away - we were fortunate last time it happened within 3 months of trying but may not be that lucky this time. Have others started trying again as soon as you can or have you waited a while?
I had a mmc at 9 weeks in November. We didn’t try the following December as I was recovering from a womb infection, however was advised to skip a cycle and wait for the next one anyway to help my body recover and help with dating if we conceived.
we started trying again 2 months after the mmc in January. I think the mental toll of the loss and like you the age gap (my sons 6) I wanted to try straight away because my body just felt empty. Personally I’d just do what you feels best for you. It’s okay to wait and spend time to recover, and it’s okay to try again when you feel ready. Sending you so much love. 💜

Looks like I've got my period yet again 😔
Felt really positive about it this month, but too bad. Felt it coming though: greasier hair, pimples, lower back pain, easily angered, nauseous... Ugh, I hate PCOS...
Kinda scared for the real first day of my period, because ever since I've gotten off the pill (Oct '19), PCOS got free reign and my period has been so SO painful. Waking up crying, unable to do anything foe hours on end, pain killers taking ages to work...

I'm turning 30 in 5 months, I just want baby, why does my body feel the need to punish me for that?!
(I know, I know, my body doesn't really punish me, but ffs it sure feels like it is and I'm feeling hormonal)
On the bright side: it's wine o'clock! 🥳

How's everyone holding up?
Sorry to hear! I was really hopeful i would confirm ovulation...but it’s been three days since my LH peak and I’ve not had a temp spike. Feeling a bit poop because this just means I am basically infertile until I get treatment, I get referred in April but I have a high BMI so will need to lose a lot of weight to get to a healthy weight and get prescribed medication. Which is the pits because I have PCOS as well which isn’t just caused by weight. I feel like I have to climb Everest. It’s probably going to take me years before I reach a healthy weight at the rate I manage to lose.
I mean there is a small chance I have ovulated and just haven’t had a temp spike so I guess nothing is ruled out until your period comes but just feeling disappointed.

I'm not sure when I ovulated (or if I even have yet!). I started OPKs on CD6 and I'm now on CD11 and havent had a surge yet. i have a super short cycle so I think it's now getting quite late in the cycle for me to ovulate without having a v short luteul phase. Have had period cramps and lots of (erm) gas in the last couple of days so wondering if I ovulated really early (CD6) and this is implantation :/ too early to tell but I guess we'll see! Will keep doing the OPKs!

Should probably add that I've been eating a bean stew for lunch each day so the gas could definitely be due to that 🙃

Deffo negative! Keep trying! :D

My period is due today and I've got usual symptoms of it coming so :/ and we don't have a donor lined up for next month so that's me done for a few months I think :(

Hi all!

Been TTC for over a year now (diagnosed with PCOS 2018) and I have been referred to the local hospital to try Clomid. Has anyone here ever tried it? All I hear about it is horror stories!
I started clomid this month and had no issues! Some occasional hot flushes at night the days I was on it but it may also be due to bedroom being overly heated and me reading too much into it due to the horror stories I read too 🤣

Guys I need advice. Caved in yesterday at only 5/6 dpo (I know, ridicolous but couldn't help it). I thought it would calm the urge and instead it was like picking at a scab, now I have had to test today too and I all get is of course stark whites! Bearing in mind that not only it's too early and unlikely I will get a BFP due to both me and hubby having infertility factors, it's also expensive, a waste of time and mentally consuming!!! Any tips on how to stop the cycle??

Thanks for starting this thread!

I am TTC for the first time. I came off the pill in September after taking it for 7 years and luckily my periods have gone back to normal straight away.

I’m tracking my cycles on Ovia which is helpful - I feel like I’ve spent my adult life trying not to get pregnant and now suddenly I need to know about cycle lengths and ovulation days 😂

Really interested to read everyone else’s posts because I don’t have any friends in the same boat and we’re not telling anyone we’re trying because I’m worried it might not happen and I don’t want to be questioned about it constantly!
I’m in my 11th month of trying but we don’t live together. So it can be hard. I really thought this month was the one as everything has been different, but nope. Mother Nature likes to play tricks it seems 😂

Yeah your point about how long it could take is so true - we could wait another year and it could potentially not happen straight away then either. We’ve decided to start trying now and just see what happens! Hopefully it’ll all work itself out in the end.

I’ve heard people say the same about pregnancy during Covid but aside from the changes in hospital appointments etc then that’s another thing you can’t really wait for either - who knows how long this will all last for! Good luck with your pregnancy 😊

Thank you everyone who replied about my crap redundancy situation, I’ve not told people that we’re starting to try yet so I haven’t been able to moan properly to anyone! This thread has really helped ❤
Is everyone doing your role at risk or is it a certain number of jobs? If your pregnant by the time it’s all being looked at next year I’m pretty sure you will have special rights as your pregnant - your job will take priority over other employees who are not pregnant if this is applicable and you will be given priority for alternative work too if there is a genuine need to make your role redundant.

So happy I found this thread! We have been ttc for nearly 2 years now, we already have a 4 year old who was a great surprise, husband has low motility now though and I have high prolactin levels, has anyone else had high prolactin?

I’ve played with all the settings on the photo and that’s the clearest I can get. My mind is telling me it’s nothing but there’s that small bit of hope there until AF rears her ugly head! X

Forgot to add photo 🤦🏻‍♀️
I see a line, have everything crossed for you! 🤞🏻

Sorry you had a bad experience with the second nurse, it's a horrible feeling when you see a doctor/nurse who isn't very helpful! I hope you're feeling better now and more positive about the next tests.
Thankyou. Id got over my period coming, felt positive, and then bam she made me feel awful. Talked to me like crap. Definately hope she isn't the one who tells people if there is something wrong! Dh said I should complain but I have to see her again in a couple of weeks but I'm prepared and ill tell her if she's rude again that there's no need for it! yes I'm feeling better thankyou
@Sunshinegal- ive been tracking my periods for about a year using my fitbit app. My periods were at most 4 days (light), but mostly recently 2-3 days and hardly anything. I found out in January that im pregnant.

I was also worried about my light periods and what it might mean, but it turns out its all fine. Im hoping the same happens for you lovely xxxx
Thankyou and congratulations to you!
Can I ask how long you were trying?
Definately good to know that light periods aren't necessarily a bad thing.

Is you other half reluctant to test again? My OH took some convincing to be tested. Good luck. I’m hoping I get some answers soon. Trying to improve my diet and exercise etc. I’m 36 this year so feel like it’s ticking away. Then trying not to stress as stress affects fertility! It’s hard going isn’t it! Xx
Yes definitely reluctant and just generally difficult to try get him to organise anything 😬 trying not to stress but every month that goes by is a longer age gap that I didn't want between kids, feel like screaming why can't I just get feckin pregnant!!!!

I think they say a few months prior to trying. I read about it and started taking it in August then came off the pill in September (no positive test yet though). Starting it now would probably be fine though!

Sorry @Bwacac had a quick question about the COQ10 - in Luisa’s blog she says she took 3 of the tablets each day (900mg in total). I bought the same ones she mentioned and have been taking three a day too. Just noticed on the bottle it says to take one a day though... I’m guessing taking more won’t hurt but just wondered what you did if you don’t mind me asking?
I went down the middle and took 600mg a day. Purely down to the cost seeing as they are £28 a bottle. Good luck to you lovely.

eBay cheapies. I got 50 tests for £4
Last month I didn’t buy any tests so I couldn’t test.
this month since I have The cheapies, I’ve tested quite abit 🤣can totally relate though. I’ve tested 4 times today because I “thought I saw something” and I’m only like7 dpo. It gets addictive 😭 (to save money anyway, no advice on stopping testing early because as you can see I CANT DO IT 🤣)

I feel I may be out this month too. I had a surge on Tuesday and we BD but husband works shifts and haven’t done it since. Feel the chances are low 🙄.

good luck this month everyone xx

I’m currently miscarrying. Sorry if that is TMI but because it was so early, nobody had been told other than my husband and I just need someone to talk to. This is my second miscarriage this year and my third in two years. I’d been put onto Dalteparin and aspirin when this pregnancy was confirmed as I have sticky blood (I’m under the care of my local recurrent miscarriage clinic) and I honestly thought that with treatment plan in place this time would be different. I’m just heartbroken. I desperately want a child but I don’t know how much more I can put my body and heart through when this is the result.
So sorry 😞
