I’m so confused reading through the thread. I’m not sure what all the abbreviations mean etc. We’ve started trying this month after a miscarriage two years ago. I haven’t bought ovulation sticks or anything? Do I have to have them? We’ve just been having sex when I’m due to ovulate and a couple of days either side of that date. I don’t know if I’m downplaying it. Last time I got pregnant in the first month of trying but obviously it ended in miscarriage so now I don’t know what to do.
This is really helpful!

Basically ovulating makes your temp rise so if you track it every day, you should see two distinct phases...like the below image. You then know that the day before your temp rose is the day you ovulated like seen on this photo. And also if you aren’t pregnant, the temps will drop back to the lower side but if you are they will stay in that second phase
If you wear an activity watch like a Fitbit, Apple etc pay attention to your resting heart rate as well as this does tend to line up with your basal body temp and obviously you don’t have to record it as the device does it for you. I got really stressed trying to track my BBT and it started affecting my sleep. I’ll attach my Fitbit chart showing my RHR the month I conceived. 15th august was the day of my last period. I would say implantation was possible 8th September and I had a positive test on the 12th September. If you compare this to a BBT chart the comparisons would be near identical and it takes all the stress away from having to temp.

Well I’m out this month as I’ve not ovulated! My last period was almost textbook! God I hate pcos! 😡
Do you take any medication?
I also have PCOS. Have been on clomid (3 cycles) amd letrozole (2 cycles) and had a positive pregnancy test last week 😊 (after about 1,5 years of trying)
PCOS is a bitch indeed. But it's quite treatable with the right medication.
Definitely go see a gynaecologist if you haven't already. They can help you further.

I wouldn’t do a test without my husband. I’d want him right there with me and find out together. Very excited to tell sister and parents though. Due on Christmas Day so don’t know whether to test if period doesn’t come in the morning. Don’t want to be disappointed if it’s negative though and ruin the day so might not.

Sorry for jumpin on here and please delete if not allowed. I'm on my last month of TTC baby number 5. Yes i hear you all saying "wow 5.... she's so lucky to have that many. Why be selfish etc" i say these things to myself. Thing is after 5 years IVF i conceived twin girls 7 years ago. Then when they were 2 I had my boy (natural conception) but he was stillborn (due to hospital neglegence) Desperate for a baby, I was blessed with another girl 18 months ago. Thing is I am desperate to get pregnant again. We said we'd give ourselves 7 months and now January is the last month. If nothing happens then thats it.
I don't know if this desperation is the want for a baby or the want for my son.
I'm posting here (as I couldn't see a thread on it) but how do people cope if thats it, thats the end of their pregnancy journey.
Again never intend to be insensitive or offensive so delete if not allowed.
Thanks so much and wishing all here baby dust.
Not insensitive or selfish at all, I can completely understand why you want to keep trying. I always wonder this too, whether there has to come a point where you just accept it’s not going to happen? It would be hard to deal with definitely.

Long term lurker here joining just for this thread!

My first month of TTC, I came off Yasmin my contraceptive 5 weeks ago after being on it for almost 15 years. Isn't it mad how you spend so long trying not to get pregnant then all of a sudden you're desperate for it?

I'm freaked out about it all as I'm 30, so I've never really known what my natural cycle is as it's always been controlled by the pill. Been reading so many horror stories about how people's cycles don't go back to normal. I need to refrain from the internet!

My first period since my withdrawal bleed is due next week, if my cycle length is a typical 28-30 dayer.

Just brain dumping really! Good luck to everyone.
This!! It’s embarrassing really how little I knew about ovulation etc before I started trying.

I wish I had come off of my pill earlier too. Id been mentioning it since the start of last year but my partner wasn’t sure and wanted to wait until we’d moved house. I came off it in September with him now really wanting a baby too and luckily things have gone back to normal (so far), but I do think that if I had come off it earlier then by now we’d have been trying for a little while. He seemed a bit surprised that it doesn’t always happen straight away even though I had mentioned it a few times...

I think it’s just a hard feeling when it’s something you want so much and it’s like a month by month wait all the time!

the ttw is horrible. I love a good google symptom search too haha. Really hoping you get your BFP sooner rather than later. Keep us updated 🙂
Thank you! Ive really never been interested in babies before! Then all of a sudden, it’s all I can think about!! We had always said no kids for us.

a psychic told me I’d have a little girl when I was 33 - I wouldn’t believe it but she told me about all the tests I’d have (which happened) and bowel tests i had previously (it was just a random woman that came up and spoke to me, sounds random but she told me so much stuff a stranger just couldn’t know), ive got 18 months til I’m 34! So there is every chance I’ll be having that baby at 33 ☺

I’m on the path to getting some answers (ttc 2.5 yrs)
Had bloods and urine tested this week and have to phone next week to arrange an appointment for either a HyCoSy or the other similar test, can’t remember the name. It’s my choice what I have. One they insert dye through the cervix and one is saline then they do a detailed X-ray to see if there are any blockages

So we are planning to ease ourselves back into ttc, we lost our baby boy at 16 weeks. He had chromosome issues and heart defect.
It took us 2 years to conceive him due mainly to husbands low motility and morphology. So really quite scared what the future holds for us. I’m 32 and feel like the time is running out for us (am I being silly!)
We were going for ivf when we fell pregnant naturally so we might head towards that again...

Does anyone else feel they are stuck in this bloody cycle of stressing you arent getting pregnant but not getting pregnant because u are stressed:unsure: i had a miscarriage in december. Everything seems ok we have had all checks, but i cant stop thinking about pregnancy. I somehow managed to distract myself a couple of months last year, stopped taking temp, folic acid etc and fell pregnant! So i definetely know stress is powerful! I just want to hide away from the world until i am pregnant again! Hate it. Feel a failure. Wish you could just switch your brain off certain topics!
Yes! I’m currently in TWW and it’s consuming my mind. I’m trying to keep busy but it’s all I can think about. And doesn’t help when family or friends tell you to “just relax”. If it was easy I would be relaxing right now 🙃

Congratulations! I was wondering how you we’re getting on! ❤

Thank you for sharing this, very helpful! I’m trying not to track ovulation or symptoms this month as it was all getting a bit too much. The disappointment I was getting on AF day is becoming overwhelming. Fingers crossed I get relax a bit more!
I was exactly the same and took a step back. I tracked but didn’t think about it much. Best of luck to you!!! 💖💖💖

I just keep thinking if it's not this month, at least they won't be the youngest in their school year 😂
Omg I’m doing the same thing 😂. But because I’m a teacher I really wanted to get pregnant last month or the month before because it would have fallen in the summer holidays. 🙄. But how I’m thinking ooo they will be one of the oldest in their year now. Just keeps adding more desperation into me wanting to be pregnant tbh

I generally don’t test for this reason. I know it’s an unpopular opinion in the TTC community but I’ve probably only tested maybe five times in the 2.5 years we’ve been trying. I only test if my period is late and isn’t showing any signs of arrival. Each time I’ve had the negative and my period shows up within the hour 🤣.
Currently CD28, no signs of spotting which I usually get the day or two before AF arrives. Have had 31 day cycles before so not super uncommon for me, though my last cycle was 26 days and I am usually a 28/29 day cycle. Ovulated late (CD17) this cycle though, so that’s probably why I’m late.
Wow I’m impressed I wish I have self control like you. But last month I was better I only tested once. This month I’ve ruled out so will await AF.
I need your mind set. Good luck 😉

Same, I try to track as little as possible. It's too hard when AF is there..

Congrats @Babyyoda88 !

Hi all, period came last night, it was early so I am now over a year and I will call the doctors this week.
I've had no hint of a positive and never been pregnant and I'm 28.i can't help but be worried even if it is normal. Are there any of you on here that had a first child suddenly surprise you after a year, after no previous pregnancy scares or anything?
I've been very positive about it with it being a new year and a whole year of hope. But when it comes I am just so miserable. I know I'll be fine later or tommorow and back to feeling good about next month, but I just can't help but think is it ever going to happen? I actually can't imagine my period not coming or actually getting a positive test. All my family and most of my friends conceived quickly and I just feel crap.

I know this is the period blues😂 and I'll be fine. But I'd love some nice stories of those over a year that it happened for all of a sudden.

I also know this is no time at all compared to some of you, and I feel awful for complaining. Just in need of some positivity today.
It took me 6 years for my first child! Don’t give up hope - easier said that done I know. I’m 18 months in to trying for my second and it’s very disheartening. Baby dust xxx

Hi everyone, this is a super helpful forum, so glad I came across it! I recently started using the Clear Blue Ovulation Kit and I typically get the static smiley for one day a month. I read here some people are getting flashing smileys a few days before the static smiley and I’m wondering if my fertility window is a lot shorter than others? Was wondering if anyone else’s went from blank circle immediately to a static smiley? I test once a day in the morning, the day after my period finishes. (I hope this all makes sense, thanks in advance!)
Hey I got a blank circle on cycle day 9 then 3 days of flashing smileys then static which stays for 48 hours. I think the flashing smiley is detecting an estrogen rise, some women's aren't high enough to detect but as long as you get a static I don't think it would be a problem x

Keeping my fingers crossed for you both! ❤
And if it didn't work out, there's always next month.

Thanks @Belle Amie I'm feeling quite okay, but pretty bummed out ofcourse.
Trying not to focus on the whole babymaking process too much, as it's easy to get carried away. Staying hopeful!
