how are you getting on lovely? X
AF started today right on time as predicted! Can’t believe I felt so weird the past week or so, definitely something to be said for talking yourself into symptom spotting, must have just had a funny month. Also those evap lines are totally cruel - I’ve genuinely had 4 positives within around 10-15 minutes, albeit faint. It kind of makes me think maybe it was a chemical pregnancy but unsure if you get positives from them. Ah well, onwards and upwards - have redownloaded my Ovia fertility app as you reminded me that it exists and we will try again next month!!

Hope you are doing ok, thank you for checking in 🥰 let me know how you get on! Xx

Girls I just want to ask a quick question.
AF was due today for me usually I’ll have some spotting the night before but all I had was a tiny wipe of pink, this morning I went to the toilet it looked like I’d started naturally I was fuming but I put a tampon in & felt like it was full a few hours after I changed it and it was empty, my second one of the day I’ve just taken out again was pretty much empty baring in mind I’ve had it in for 6/7 hours.
I felt a tiny pinching cramp on the right side of my pelvis yesterday afternoon in Tesco. Could that have been implantation? Or am I getting my hopes up and AF will have a proper go tomorrow 😂

Usually my periods the heaviest on the first and second day only lasting 4 on average. TTC is the most confusing thing I’ve think I’ve ever done
Deffo hard to tell, I exhausted google with IS IT IMPLANTATION OR PERIOD?! and I think the only way you can tell is to take a test. maybe leave until Sunday (if you can) to ensure it deffo is late. You could collect your FMU in a pot and store til later to test if not 💕

Thanks, now I’m just hoping I need a wee soon! I don’t want to drink loads in case it dilutes lol.
First response early result are the most sensitive - I would try and do a 3hr hold or if you can wait, wait until the morning but I know it can be tricky!

I was going to buy some from Amazon but saw lots of the reviews saying there were fake! That’s shocking!
me too - and it wasn’t until I was having a google I realised there was no branding at all and no indicator at all! Amazon refunded me straight away but so frustrating. All the packing is legit it’s just non branded tests, which I assume that would still show but you can’t trust it can you! For the sake of an extra £4 I’ll always go to a shop now.

for the fertile window - we did every day but in future we would do every other if not. I think It still needs to be enjoyable and not a chore!

Hi all...long time lurker here. Third cycle TTC, just a bit confused and wondering if anyone else has had similar. My period is roughly 6 days late, have taken some eBay cheapies over the past few days and they’ve all been negative - however when I went to the toilet today I had some slight spotting. I’m not sure when I actually ovulated (trying not to get into OPK’s as I’ll get obsessed 😂) When should I test again? Should i buy a proper FR test?
Are your cycles normally regular? I would wait a day or two and try again with a FR test

I’m hopeful 🤞🏻 We’ve managed to DTD v frequently the last few days but it’s never a given is it?! I’m 1dpo I believe so here we gooooo! How about you? xx
Fingers crossed for you!!! I am now 8DPO, over the past few days I have had some cramps, nausea, a slight headache (yesterday), extreme tiredness and a strange taste yesterday and this morning... I normally only get some cramps and sore boobs when I ovulate. I’m trying not to get my hopes up and over think things but it’s so hard xx

Feeling ok!! Super super grumpy today, keep snapping at everything my partner says and that’s really unlike me at this stage of my cycle (lol) especially as it’s irrational - my irrational mood swings only tend to happen while I’m PMSing. Also feeling so tired.

Am around 4-5 days DPO and have been feeling quite crampy for the past couple of days - again unusual unless I’m ovulating / due on. Feeling semi positive! How are you lovely?
I’m feeling ok today, less crampy than before - can’t say it’s something I’ve ever noticed except the day of my period so am intrigued!
I hear ya on the snapping. I think it’s a really hard part of the cycle as it’s just literally a wait and see - everything is outta your control! The only pos about pre O is it feels more controllable with working out what Your ‘approach’ is!

I’ve been continuing my cheap OPK to make sure my LH comes down. This is the first time I’ve ever tracked so I’ve learnt I’ve got a real sharp rise (like 2 days) then a steep dive off a cliff down. Started a rise CD13 pm, stayed quite dark CD14, then went down to almost nothing CD15. Still mind boggling to learn things about my body at 30 😂

I took some ovulation tests over the last few days as I was WAY too chicken to take a pregnancy test, caved yesterday morning and today (the FRER) and 😱😱 it doesn’t feel real!!
Yesterday was the clear blue

I feel so blessed and also so guilty being able to write this. I am so lucky and I promise I really, really know that. You guys are the loveliest community and I can’t wait to see the rest of you fall pregnant 💕

TTC’s #2 - thread for those trying to conceive.

Some common abbreviations:

AF = Aunt Flo (period)

BFP = big fat positive

BFN = big fat negative

OPK = ovulation predictor kit

HPT = Home pregnancy test

DTD = do/did the deed
Can you add TWW now please? 😂

TWW is doing my head in this month. Been crampy essentially since ovulating, not bad but enough to make me think my AF may start at any minute (despite only being about 8/9dpo) Feeling nauseas quite a lot, bloated and super tired all the time and a few headaches. Can’t help but feel like my body is just tricking me 😣 never ever recall feeling like this between periods when not ttc though, uuuuuugggghhhhhhh.

@Smallpotato i have been reading online and apparently it is super common to get thrush when TTC. I’m month 1 and already got it so out look not good going forward 😂😅
Absolutely fucking fantastic, I guess it’s because I haven’t had this much sex since meeting my husband 11 years ago!

Congratulations Rose on your BFP! 🥰

sending positivity to you, Mel ✨

I’m due AF next Thursday but weirdly feel like I’m ovulating? Very strange as having some aches from ovaries 🙄 I thought I had some idea of what my cycle was but it seems to change! Argh! Flo said my ovulation date was last Thursday. Obviously a crazy part of my brain thinks ooh I wonder if this is an early pregnancy sign 🤣

So fed up and really starting to believe it will never happen. My husbands brother and his wife got pregnant accidentally and all anyone talks about is the baby, lots of Covid rules being broken for all the family to visit as much as they want, I’ve worked a really stressful frontline job the whole way through and just feel like I’m being punished and they’re rubbing it in my face. Which I know they’re not, but I have to walk away from conversations about that baby or anyone else pregnant because my heart just can’t cope

Does anyone know the average time to conceive? I know 92% in a year is what the NHS say but my brain just keeps going to, if I was fertile, I’d be pregnant by now 😔
I know your frustration 😟 I feel sometimes I pull away from pregnant friends, not intentionally

I think average time is 6 months to a year to fall pregnant? I’m not sure though, some of my friends just have to look at a penis and be with child 🤣

It’s nice to speak to someone in a similar position. I definitely find these threads hard, this one isn’t too bad but I had been on mumsnet and had to delete my account, reading about someone in their mid 20s who hadn’t manage to conceive after a couple of months wasn’t really helping me.
*Exactly this* 👆Everyone has their own problems, but having age and money (in the form of the NHS) on your side makes this that much easier.

Thank you so much for replying, I really appreciate it x

Congratulations Niamhm! Lovely news, fingers crossed you have a healthy pregnancy 🥰🤞🏻

I posted a few days ago saying we weren’t trying until October, but my partner came back from working away at the end of my fertile week (according to Flo, god knows if it’s correct) and well... the plan went out the window 🤣 so will see what happens I suppose. Would be incredibly lucky to catch, but I guess it happens for some people?

I took some ovulation tests over the last few days as I was WAY too chicken to take a pregnancy test, caved yesterday morning and today (the FRER) and 😱😱 it doesn’t feel real!!

Felt like wasting money so did a test today and it was faint, then went out to get some more types also faint! Bought packs of 2 and some digis so will do the other ones tomorrow and wait until after AF is due to do the digital! Not sure if anyone else can see it? The clear blue I did this morning and has dried darker. I did a clearblue 6 days early, boots own early and frer
yes I can see faint lines! 🤞🏻 For tomorrow and hopefully Saturday!

i took an OPK this morning for fun and it was near positive 😂 I’m much too scared to take a proper test 😂

I wish I know!! I peed in a cup, put the stick facing down in it for 20 seconds (timed). Removed and kept it lying flat and it was just like -“hmm.. Nope”. So I’m sticking with the old fashioned lines 😬 (10-12dpo..)

Still wish I’d waited until my period is due like with my first! Though with him I’d accepted I wasn’t going to get pregnant on my own and we were just about to embark on IVF, I only did the test because I was planning a night of drinking at my friends wedding x
🎉 And there it is 🌈❤ congratulations 🎉
Do you know when you are due ? Going by when I ovulated I'm 18th Jan

I did the same with clear blue over the summer.

Because I’m losing my mind, I threw away my pregnancy tests to stop me testing pre period. My period is due on Friday, and no doubt will arrive.

I feel this week I am slowly accepting at 35 nearly 36, I won’t conceive again and my 4 year old will be an only child like me. I hated being an only child growing up and I just don’t want the same for him.
Smallpotato im 36 in August , my son is 9 and I've tried since he was born to give him a sibling , me and his dad divorced , I lost a baby in February with my new partner but hopefully this is it now 🌈 January he will have a much longed for brother or sister.

Thank you! I’ve had 4 today but I’ve tested a day earlier than they told me too. I’m hopeful the next few days will change 🙌🏻

Also please tell me I’m not the only one pulling the sticks out and analysing them even thought I know they mean nothing 🤪
I wish I’d never started with the bloody sticks 🤣🤣🤣

Another friend just told me she's pregnant.. I'm so happy for her, just feeling sad for me. Feel ridiculous saying it out loud so don't have anyone else to talk to about it. Grateful for this group ❤
It’s so hard isn’t it 💖 we are all here if you need to moan

Barely any time at all, it’s been 3 months. I’ve honestly got to remember that when I came off the pill at 30, it took me 9 months to fall pregnant and I had a miscarriage. And then another. Then another 7 months and I fell pregnant with my son.

My husband didn’t want children with a close age gap, he has 5 years between him and his siblings and said it worked for him, meanwhile I have no siblings and I wanted children close together. It’s been a bit of a bone of contention between us both.
I think there are definitely pros and cons to having all different kinds of age gaps. Smaller is much more stressful for a longer time, less of yourself to spread around at once, quite a bit of jealousy often but also they become very close and bond over the similar things and you can generally please them both/all with the same activities (my two are 19 months apart). Larger age gaps are generally much less stressful, less guilt about spreading yourself around because you get designated chunks of time to spend with each child I.e. while they’re at school/nursery etc and you deffo still get that best friend bond (my brother and I are 4 years apart).

At the end of the day, if you are lucky enough for your child to have a sibling at whatever point I find it is generally a very positive thing as each child brings so much to the table so try not to stress about it too much. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway LOL *rocks back and forth in a corner because TTC is too out of my control for my brain to deal with* 😅🙃😂 xxx
