Does anyone have really short, light periods? Cycle 10 has just unfortunately ended, I had one episode of brown streaked CM on Thursday then nothing, then Friday I started spotting around 10am. It started off brown and turned into a ‘flow’ around 2pm ish. By Saturday teatime I was no longer requiring tampons or pantyliners, with just some spotting on wiping only (sorry tmi). So that’s 24 hours of actual bleeding although was not a lot. With just a tiny bit of spotting this morning. I’m not pregnant, this is ‘normal’ for me.

This concerns me that this doesn’t seem quite normal, along with having long and irregular cycles I just feel something isn’t quite right and wondering if this is the cause for not getting pregnant yet.

However, my hormonal panel came back normal. My day 4 and day 21 progesterone was normal. I had an ultrasound to rule out PCOS which was normal, and coincidentally had just/or about to ovulate during the scan which showed I had follicles there and my lining was good at 13mm. So there’s nothing obvious to suggest why I’m ovulating late and irregular, or why I bleed very little despite having a normal lining. It’s a mystery for sure.

Been feeling so whacko this month so tested tonight and BFP. Now absolutely shitting myself because it’s only been 40 days since my period and I don’t know how I could have possibly ovulated already when my cycles are usually up to 68 days long. Line is super dark too which seems even more suss. Have horrible health anxiety anyway and googled and found in super rare cases it can be a false positive from dodgy growths etc. Realistically I know I’ve potentially had early pregnancy symptoms so it would make sense, but I just can’t get my head around how it possibly could have happened with all my hormonal conditions/crazy cycles. I’m such a mess :(

I tested on a whim really thinking even if I was, it wouldn’t show as I’m too far before AF. Although I guess in theory I could have been destined for a shorter one this month. That’s the problem I can never tell.
Bless you I’m in the same boat with weird cycles! My cycle can vary from 33-49 days and a few days ago at CD29 (6 days before period) I got a clear positive too! I wasn’t expecting it so early but I’ve been feeling symptoms for a week now

Hi ladies. Hope everyone’s okay as can be. ❤

I just wanted to ask that anyone who has been to see a doctor/specialist ect about fertility. How many cycles did you wait before doing so? I know the NHS says a year of trying. Also how long did you have to wait before getting tests ect. Xxx
We waited until a year of being off the pill, mainly because I felt something was off (everything’s been okay so far though), and I know how long referrals can take if needed. I have long cycles so my GP said when she sends a referral they may want me to have at least 12 cycles, but it’s taken so long for my OH sperm analysis appointment that I will be at 12 cycles once the results come through.
They were relatively quickly getting me tested (day 3,day 21 bloods ultrasound scan) it was recommended once they were okay to get a sperm analysis booked. And here we are, he had it today!

Hello my lovely ladies 🤍 I am joining you back on this thread. As some of you might know I got my positive test at the start of April... I’m so desperately sad to write this here but

unfortunately we found out at the 12 week scan this week that I’d had a missed miscarriage. Our baby had stopped growing at around 8 weeks and no longer had a heartbeat. I’m still in shock really at how that can happen and you don’t even know.

Anyway, I am back. Absolutely terrified to get back on this journey if I’m completely honest. Will be waiting around the next few weeks for my first post MC period - not sure how long that’ll take and then I don’t think I’ll track ovulation for a few months as I was getting obsessed before. Just going to go with the flow.

Hope you’re all doing okay ☺☺🤍
Sending you lots of love. I had a MC a month ago and it really is shocking when it happens. Always here if you need to chat x

I had the first vaccine on Wednesday I had Pfizer, I was due on today and it’s come like clockwork as it is. But I’m so much heavier than normal. I wouldn’t expect to be this heavy until day 2 usually, has anyone else experienced that?

I didn’t realise we were on another thread for ages! Congratulations to everyone who got their positives!

Just wondering is it possible to have an extremely regular period and to never ovulate? Following on from my last post in the old thread, I don’t seem to be getting highs or peaks on OPKs, I have sex pretty frequently each month and on my predicted ovulation day and I’ve not had a hint of a positive or late period.
We’ve been trying since December but it’s still too early for me to speak to a doctor as I’m under 30 isn’t it?

I had a lot of problems with my implant last year causing bleeding for 6 months & ive had so many ultrasounds and an mri that’s found nothing so I just know the doctors will think I’m being dramatic too soon.
I’m similar, I’m regular as clock work, but only seem to get high on OPKs never peak. I’ve bought the more expensive Clearblue ones this month, and have had flashing (high) faces for a few days so have my fingers crossed for a peak soon.
I spoke to my GP and they are doing some blood tests to check my hormone levels in a few weeks, so might be worth contacting them.

Hi all, new to this thread. Husband and I have just really started TTC in the last 2 months. Tomorrow is my ovulation day - so currently in my weeks window of chance of conception.
I don’t fully understand all of the abbreviations you use here yet. And not fully researched in all the tips. Currently just doing the old fashioned DTD and hope for the best.
I’ve never felt desperate to have a baby but now All my friends have babies or are pregnant and I’m starting to panic a bit in case I leave it too late. Currently 33. Husband is desperate for one and he’s been the driving force behind TTC mostly.
all tips and help appreciated
Welcome to the thread, I think for someone newly trying to conceive (TTC) I would just say enjoy the baby making process & don’t get too bogged down with it just yet. Try DTD lots on your fertile period j fingers crossed it happens for you quickly ❤

I had AZ the week after my miscarriage and my period came back 4 weeks and 1 day after my MC...so don't think it affected me. Im due my second on 21st June and was wondering how happy id be to have it if I am pregnant again. I actually heard a nurse on the radio earlier saying her friend is a gyno and she said she would have no concerns if she said she was pregnant the day after having the jab. Not that this is the issue, I know people are talking about cycles, just word vomiting here 😂 sorry ladies. Im 5DPO and I feel so nauseous. Im a proper sicky pregnant person so hoping its a good sign. 🤞

Have you tried using an app like Ovia? It can be wildly inaccurate but allows you to input data for CM etc to keep track of things too ☺
I haven’t been physically recording CM, only cycle days in a physical diary so I’ll try Ovie, thanks so much for replying

So I've been dipping in and out of this thread because I find it really difficult to see the sad (and wonderful!) stories.... ostrich syndrome some might say!

I've been tracking my cycle for 2 years and this month my period came two weeks early, which i guess explains why the ovulation tests were all negative until I obviously bled and boy has it been a heavy period! I googled it and am now convinced I'm peri menopausal. Do I just give up hope now and enjoy a "normal" sex life with my partner again? rather than being so regimented and obsessed?
It's only 1 weird cycle, but I bet if you just had "normal sex" you'd be pregnant straight away 😂😂 Sod's law!

I took the above test this morning with second wee and felt like I saw a tiny line, so got a digital and it’s positive.
My first pregnancy and my boyfriend was so excited it doesn’t feel real I just want to pee on all the sticks to make sure!
What do you even do now 😂

I’m sending so much love, prayers and baby dust to you all! This thread really helps keep you sane and give clarity to each month 💕💕
I remember going to my doctor and telling him like a naughty school girl 🤭 total waste of appointment. I think you just have to call the midwife and book an appointment (my first one was the 12 week appointment) the doctor's office should have the number if ur not sure. It used to be up on a board in the waiting room. Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS 🎊

I knew it.. period started about 10 mins after I posted that previous message 🤣 onto a new cycle let’s go then!
☹☹☹ Kinda sucks to be 4 weeks pregnant, then BAM! 0 (again) I was even wondering what colours to start knitting!!

Hi girls, I can’t seem to find my answer on Google so I’m hoping someone will be able to help me :).
AF 21/07/21 and my cycle is normally 28 days.
I got my peak cb 07/08/21 so I counted my ovulation as 08/08/21. So cd18 I ovulated.
According to my calendar I should have came on my period yesterday, however because I ovulated cd18 I’m wondering would my period start10 days later or would my period be later due to cd18 ovulation?
AF still hasn’t shown but I did a test Monday 8dpo and it was negative.
I am having cramping but I feel the same as if AF is going to show.
Sorry if none of this makes sense I’m still trying to understand the ttc/dpo/af lingo xxx
I think everyone’s cycles work differently but last month I ovulated later than I usually do and AF came 5 days late because of it! So I think your AF can definitely shift if your ovulation is later but not the case for everyone! Xx

No offence taken!! But also, don't be afraid to ask for help after 6 months of trying (or whatever the NHS website says) I was probably around 36 before I asked for help - and got pregnant the month before we were due to start IVF! Incidentally, there's nothing wrong with either of us, I always joke that we're just "doing sex wrong" 😂 😂

You should ovulate around day 14, that's what I was going to track this month but I got a positive result on day 8. If I'd waited any longer, I may have missed it and then thought I hadn't ovulated. (and start to panic about the menopause or something 🤣🤣)

If you scroll back on this thread, someone posted a link to a blog where the lady did crazy graphs and was desperately trying to ovulate before day 20 + so we're all different.

Maybe get a load of cheap tests from Amazon or something and test every day until you feel you know your body better?
Some people also take their temperature every day, looking for a little rise around ovulation, but I just cba to do this

Sorry, I've just read that you broke something? Is that the little machine you shove the sticks in?
I’m booked in for blood tests on Monday to check if I need to be referred to a fertility clinic.
Yeah! It works once and then never worked again so I’m unsure what to try now.
Awh, good luck 🤍
I checked an ovulation calculator and it said I’d ovulate 8 days from when my period started, I don’t understand 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thankyou so much my lovely lady. It makes me cry when people are so kind to me 😭 here’s hoping 🤍

Welcome 🤍 I’m so sorry for your losses. Always here if you want to chat. I had a loss recently too. This is a lovely community and I’ve got lots of good advice from here xx
Thank you for the welcome and kindness, and I’m very sorry for your recent loss too.

I had been very open with close friends and family about trying and then success, and then not... so I’ve resolved to keep things to myself (and husband) from now on. I imagine that will make communities like this all the more valuable.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

ARE YOU FRICKING KIDDING ME????

I went on the internet and found out that Action do the best (and cheapest pink tests - great!)

So I cycled all the way into the city, only to find that Action was closed 😩😩😩 Decided Etos might be the place to go, but they didn't have any tests 🤷‍♀️ turns out they were behind the counter, even at over 40, I was a little embarrassed to ask. Then I wittered on about wanting a pink test, not a blue, so I think I completely confused the assistant whose English wasn't brilliant. €7, my UK card was rejected and so was my Dutch card, so I had to call my hubby to transfer some money. At this point I got chatting to a lady from the stables, just as we parted, she said "oh yeah, you couldn't pay, that's embarrassing" seriously wondering if she actually saw what I wanted to buy??

So I finally went home with my test and simply couldn't wait for tomorrow, so did it there and then. OMG, how stupid of me, because now I have a test with a faint blue line....... And a test with a faint pink line

🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Seriously.

This drove me a little insane, so I decided to come clean to my hubby who was on his 10 minute lunch break.

"that's not a line"
"do you not think it's a faint line?"
"yeah, it's a faint line"
"I'd brick it if you were pregnant"
"oh really? Well maybe you should have thought about before you shagged me - for THREE WHOLE YEARS!!!"

So I'm still very much in the same boat that I was a few days ago. I can't even!!!

Am I going mad? The pink one does look a little darker in real life, but you still have to squint.

I honestly think that I'm just going crazy 😢
I can see a line too! Fingers crossed for you!!! xx

I had an old friend get back in touch yesterday and after a couple of messages he said "no kids yet then?". Normally I'd probably try to turn my response into a joke but I just said "Sadly not, not for a lack of trying though." Why do people still think it's ok to ask things like this?

CD40 today, no sign of AF, tests still negative, just like last month. 🙄 Think I may try OPKs next month. Does anyone else have longer (45-48 day) cycles?! Feels so strange to me having always been around 28 days in the past.
That’s a great answer I’m stealing that. I’ve put some weight on over lockdown & im feeling shite in general. Was with a relative there I haven’t seen in a year and half and of course was asked was I pregnant and given the once over. No sir I’m just a victim of the covid stone!
I chickened out of ringing doctor for my blood results as I want to have a nice weekend so I’ll do that Monday. Hope everyone is ok ❤

Hi everyone, I didn’t do OPK last month I decided to lay off it but sure my period came a flipping week early. I was on a 38 day cycle since coming off the pill but this month was 29 days. Annoyed I didn’t track ovulation now! Going to start again this month. Wishing everyone luck & baby dust !

Oh edited to ask - is the clearblue tests worth it? I’ve the easy at home sticks. Just got the hang of them but are clearblue better? They are dear so do you get a months worth in the box?

Hey,

I was just looking for some advice.

We are on month 10 of TTC. We had a chemical pregnancy 2 months ago.

Normally my cycle can run between 32-38 days.

All my apps say I should ovulate this weekend, however doing the easy@home ovulation sticks it looks like I may have ovulated yesterday.
Usually I ovulate on time, then it’s waiting for my period that lengthens my cycle. My period isn’t always guaranteed 14 days after I ovulate.

My question is, is ovulating 4/5 days early a thing? Or could the tests be wrong?

Thank you! X
I think ovulation can vary from month to month - some months it’s possible to not ovulate at all. It’s entirely possible that you ovulated 4 days early.

Do you use Premom? Have you had a “peak” reading and now the t/c ratio is going down? Xx

Nearly 5 weeks post mc now and still no sign of period returning. Feel like I can’t properly get back into trying until it does and I’m worried it’s going to take ages. Any words of wisdom?! Should have been finding out the gender around now which sucks 😔 I will always wonder what would have been 💙💖

I can see it. Try again in a day or two with first morning wee ❤❤ xx
My period returned 6 weeks after mine- the waiting is awful x

for various reasons, I think I am going to step away from this thread until I feel in a place where I can try again ❤

I’ve made a thread about loss, as I do want to talk about it and process my feelings but I’m just not sure here is the right place. Hopefully soon I will be strong enough to be back with you ladies here. Thank you so much for all your lovely messages, I have my fingers crossed tightly for you all 💖

if any of you want to discuss your losses or need to vent about loss, please come chat with me xx
Sending you lots of love xx
