I bet there are! I also wonder about all those older terraced houses that will definitely have had people laid out in the front parlour years ago
I come from a small northern village and my gran had the job of laying people out when they died in the village, she was a no nonsense northerner who took no tit from anyone and looked after me when my mum went back to work. She usually knew if folk were about to go she said she saw coffins in the coal fire. I must of been about 3 and I remember her coming through the door one morning muttering away to herself. I asked her why she was angry and she said I’ve just been all the way to Ethel Morris’s to lay her George out and the bugger weren’t dead he took a mighty breath and sat up on the kitchen table what a bloody waste of time I could of done me washing and put it through the mangle by now I should of known there were no coffins in the fire last night.

I know when something bad is coming as my ears feel wet, even if they’re dry to touch. It’s the same sensation from when you’re a kid crying but lying down and the tears roll down into your ears.

If I feel that, I know something to cry about is coming.

Many many years ago, when I was a young ‘un, I was sitting in the back of my parents’ car, after a summer day out somewhere. It was still bright daylight. When I looked out the back window I couldn’t see anything unusual, but when I looked out the side window, so I could just see out the back in the corner of my eye, I could clearly see a middle aged man in an old-fashioned (30s or 40s?) motorcycle, in an old fashioned brown cow coat (ie a sort of canvas overall thing), wearing motorcycle goggles, riding rught up close to the back corner of the car. Was there for 10 minutes or more

I am currently having lunch in the Exeter Inn, Ashburton it says it opened in 1130 a.d! I took a photo of this old door and as I did I saw a big white orb fly past me at head hight but looking at the photo I have a low zoomie too! Also, and not thinking this is paranormal but check out the faces in the stone on the photo of the clock! I am a bit of a magnet to ‘beings’ but only feel a real calming sence. Definitely some Googling to do later!

My great grandmother on my mums side was Irish and the superstition and premonitions were real 🤣 A knock on the door when no one was there meant someone was going to die and I still don’t do my washing on New Year’s Day/ Good Friday because you’ll wash someone out of the family 🤣

My Mum always told me to never change the bed sheets on a Friday as it causes bad dreams.

Interesting, I’m from Romany background and was taught never to clean on New Year’s Day otherwise you’d have a rotten year. And not to clean after your guest had left until they were safe at home otherwise you could ‘wipe them out’. Those coffee cups stay in my sink until I get a text they’re back safe haha.

And me! I’m not sure I need any more superstitions either 🤣🤣
I definitely don't.

My Mum was really superstitious so I grew up with loads of them. Don't put new shoes on a table.Don't pass someone on the stairs. Don't hand someone a pair of scissors. If you buy anyone a purse make sure there's money in it ... 🤪 🤪

No new shoes on the table for sure (reminds me of Blood Brothers too)
And the stairs and purse ones too!

Salute a single magpie, don’t walk over three drains, yes to the shoes and purse, peacock items as a wedding present is bad luck.
Thanks to my mum and grandma for all this batshit stuff 😂😂

My gran, the same one who used to lay the dead out, had all these superstitious you have all mentioned and the one that is constantly in my head because I’m a chef, don’t ever stir with a knife or you’ll be stirring up trouble.

Never give gloves as a present as it means you'll part company with the recipient
