Speaking of sleep paralysis and night hags, this painting will forever haunt me
Yes. I've watched the first two. I think they're very good. The evil old woman is quite common for sleep paralysis as well I think
has anyone been watching Uncanny on iplayer?
I loved it. The podcasts on BBC sounds are really good as well. Some really creepy storiesYes. I've watched the first two. I think they're very good.
Yes. It’s just sleep paralysis but can be damn scaryAnyone ever seen the ‘hat man’?
I was 14 had never heard of him/it btw. I woke up freezing in the early hours and tried to pull my quilt up to my chin and I couldn’t because there was a weight at the end of my bed, so I look over and see the darkest, blackest silhouette of a man that I could only describe wearing a Stetson hat sitting on the end of my bed!
I shut my eyes until I heard my neighbour start his motorbike at 6am then ran out the room!
Never saw him again, thankfully.
My family encountered many strange things in this house but I was the only one that saw hat man. Then years later I read that other people have experienced/seen him. Sleep paralysis? I hope so. But I could move so I just don’t know.
sorry eta it was the tarot talk that prompted me to post. I used to sit on this same bed doing the cards…
Bloody hell Ken!I LOVE Uncanny, the podcast is amazing and I really enjoyed the TV show. I was #TeamBeliever on the first 2 cases (and in real life in general) but I'm #TeamSkeptic on case 3... it just doesn't ring true. I think it's a case of 'folie a trois' wih Heather being the main instigator.
I wish Danny had pressed Toddy on what he meant by 'the unholy trinity'. (Personally I think they were all having a threesome but because of their religious background they felt IMMENSE Catholic guilt, and that added to the whole situation)
I like The Ouija Brothers on YouTube. They seem to have a good reputation for being truthful and authentic. Not a Ghost story, but popped on here to say I thought uncanny was really good. However at the moment I'm really enjoying Mark Adam explores on You Tube He's an urban explorer who also does abit of paranormal investigatjng. Some of his paranormal videos are excellent, with interesting results. I used to love Most Haunted but it got awful towards the end and all you saw was Yvette or Karl on camera instead of any activity.
So if anyone wants to get scared on Halloween I'd recommend watching a few of his videos where he does his investigations because some of them scared me! Happy Halloween for tomorrow
Ps thanks for the recommendations for the witch podcasts. Love this thread x
this is what I've found so odd. I've experienced both at the same time only the cackling witch just "felt" evil. strange it's a common experience!I had sleep paralysis once and also saw hat man in the corner of the room. And what I can describe as some sort of evil old witch pushing down on my chest and her hand over my mouth when I tried to get up.
I was scared of sleeping for months.
Most Haunted lost it big time once they got rid of Derek in all honestly. He may have been 'exposed' but he was good TV.Does anyone remember when Most Haunted had “psychic-artist” Brian Shepherd on? So bad he was hilarious![]()
A Liverpool ghost writer actually wrote about this incident and interview the lady and the gentleman when it first happened. However he said that the woman who he interviewed years ago wasn’t the same woman who was interviewed on Uncanny. So she may have had a seperate experience.I’m really enjoying uncanny as well. I loved the podcast and am enjoying the programme. I like the fact that they look at things from all angles
Although I think the woman claiming she was the girl in the time slip story was a buller as why would you run off if someone said to you did you see that as well. Surely you would stop and talk about it. Urban myth I think.
