@Jellybean093 how is speech therapy going.
So…
We went there a couple of weeks ago, she asked me if I was concerned, and I said maybe a few months ago, but he has picked up so much and I am not worried about him. So she got him to do some activities and agreed he is fine. She’s happy not to see him again, however, if I feel like he needs to go back, the door is open for the next 6 months and will then be discharged
I mentioned his older sister having her adenoids removed, and I’m wondering if he is going down the same route as he breaths heavy/snores/always a runny nose (not sure if I’ve mentioned on this thread, apologies if I have!!) so she is referring us to ENT. Thanks for asking xx

Oh that’s good then. So your instincts were right then ? Glad it went ok! That’s nice of them to keep it open for 6 months. Mine didn’t do that!!we went this week and it was really positive. We’re seeing a different woman this time and she’s a lot better than the last one

Yep! And tbh, I was quite annoyed the nursery done it, but 🤷🏼‍♀️ I could hardly disagree with them. Mr B thought it was a good idea, and there was ‘no harm’ in taking him, which is true, but he wasn’t taking the time out of work…
Ah, glad it’s going well for you. How often do you have to go? Every 3 months?

Yeah that is annoying. But men are always like that 😅. At least now nursery can tick the box that says he doesn’t need it. Feel like there is so much criteria they work towards and sometimes nursery children just need more time imo!

No , I’m not really sure yet. We’ve had four sessions. Three with the old one and 1 with the new one.
But this one has said she actually works with the school we’ve chosen which is so good it means he can get to know her and she can work with him properly!! They haven’t said how long between appointments yet.

Ah, that’s good. All it takes is for a switch of person to do some good! Have you noticed any changes?

Yes I have. He’s really come on lately. Non stop chattering and I can make out a lot more. He still has a long way to go but he’s better than he was 🥹. He’s not saying sentences yet. Three words together is his max at the minute but he’ll get there I’m certain 🥰🥰

I think once they start forming sentences, they do come along leaps and bounds. Also, I’m sure Ms Rachel helped him when we were off at Christmas!

Controversial question now.
Is 2 years old young to be potty trained? He turned 2 on Saturday and the last few days he’s really mastered the potty, he’s only had one accident and that was when we were out.
I just acted on the signs he was showing me and now I’m worrying it’s early.
My Nan made a sarky comment saying ‘wow he’s young to be doing that’
🥹🥹
I’m slightly smug because he was a premature baby, he was always later than any other baby the same age and my neice was born 4 days before he was and she has done EVERYTHING first, and this is the only thing hes done before her so I’m slightly smug deep down 🤣🤣

If he's managing it, I don't see the problem? Even if he is young or not.
My daughter was 2 years 1 month when we started 🤷🏻‍♀️

There’s no such thing as too young, as soon as a child has the communication skills to let you know they need the toilet, they can do it. My eldest was trained by 21 months. And clearly you’ve managed it too - well done!

Don’t worry!!! He will do it when he’s ready. I’ve given up stressing about it. I’m going to attempt at Easter. He’s 4 in April 😬😩
We’re just going with the flow. He started the week he turned 3 like two weeks ago wearing underpants at nursery and was doing ok then we all got ill last week and we sort of gave up. He was off from nursery, back this week and they are trying him again but he’s still a bit off from being ill. I’ve got a week off in April for the easter hols i’m determined to master it then 😂 I just think they won’t be in nappies for ever so what’s the point in worrying. their ready when they are ready

I know it’s hard not to though. Especially when there is 2 year olds who’ve managed it at nursery. But I think he’ll be ok I’ve got the may half term off as well so can try then if we’re still in them. I’ll be glad when I don’t have to buy them tho anymore. He’s in pampers cos I can’t get any other size 8s and I want to cry each week at the price 🙈
