Anyone got any tips for a growing 3 year old who keeps waking up at 6am hungry?! She eats so much throughout the day and it’s not just snacks, on Sunday night she had basically an adult sized bowl of spag bol and wanted more spaghetti 🙃 she had cereal before bed last night too. I wonder if nursery aren’t feeding her bigger portions🙈 I’m gunna mention it today and see if she can get a bit more lol
Instead of cereal before bed give her something a bit more filling - porridge, peanut butter on toast etc. something with protein will help her stay fuller for longer.

The kids benefit, especially Everleigh as she won't sleep with a blanket or anything and I get up to pee 9 or 10 times a night so I also benefit from the bathroom being warm 😂
And then we're up at 4/5am anyway 😂
Wish I had it on during my 500 visits to the toilet last night 🫠😂

I’m worried about this scarlet fever thing because my daughter is allergic to penicillin and seems to immediately vomit up alternatives as well. I kept her home from nursery on Friday but tomorrow it’s their Christmas party. The nursery has had one case of SF.

I don’t know what to do. I mean SF will still be around in January and I can’t just not send her to nursery.

How are you all feeling about nursery etc?

He was eating lunch 🤦🏻‍♀️ so part of me thinks he was distracted, but without pants he took a break from eating tea to sit on his potty and do a poo!
I bought my little girl these peppa pig potty training pants and for some reason they massively confused her and she would just wee in them as soon as they were on, just wondering if he’s getting confused between pants and a nappy?

Morning you wise wonderful parents! MiniGlenCoco has been quite warm to the touch over the last few days, but whenever we check her temperature it is always normal, between 36.6 - 37.0

Yesterday she was a bit quiet and subdued in the morning but school said she was fine until lunchtime and then went a bit downhill but we found she perked up when we picked her up.

She woke in the night a few times (not unusual) and again she was warm to touch but no temperature. She's woken this morning and seems completely fine, chatty and playful, but is still warm to touch.

Should I be concerned?

But if you know it’s not how she parents then she obviously won’t find it cute, think how you’d feel if she sent you something front her “side”…
You guys obviously have very different parenting styles, and that can make friendship difficult while you have young kids.
Well obviously I didnt think.

I’m sure this has been mentioned on here before but - advice for a 17 month old who keeps hitting please!

I have an older child who is 5, but I didn’t have any of this with him. He is much more quiet and placid.

My super boisterous second child has started hitting. It’s happening a lot, when he’s being held or he goes up to people and hits them.

We have tried using a stern ‘no’, we have tried ignoring, we have tried explaining and modelling ‘gentle’ hands. Nothing has seemed to work so far.

Any advice greatly appreciated, this is new territory for us!

Best thing I ever read is: children are born knowing only one thing…. that we will show them what love is

So if we show them cruelty, or violence, or indifference to their suffering, they will think that that’s love

But likewise if we show them kindness, and empathy, and acceptance during their darkest moments, they will think that that’s love instead

A tantrum needs rebranding to the word overwhelmed, it’s basically a toddler panic attack that something wasn’t as expected or they felt something they’re not used to, it’s hard to not feel pressured by society to shush them and make them compliant in public because we feel the weight of judgement from others, but tell me, if you had a panic attack in public, how would you want your loved ones to react? Would you want your partner to walk away and say he’s leaving you, or would you rather a big bear hug and moving somewhere quieter until you feel safe again?

Show your child what love is in these moments in spite of your own uncomfortableness, because at the end of the day they won’t remember that their parents were embarrassed, they’ll only remember how you made them feel, and their coping techniques will start to mirror yours over time, and they’ll start to self regulate. It’s hard but absolutely worth it ❤
So wise this is such a good way of putting it! @HoneyBee29 I am experiencing the same at the moment it’s so hard! The limp drop kills me, I just sit with him at home but if we are out it’s normally a hoist up and outta the shops asap

Hey guys. Just checking in as we have a poorly girl again :ROFLMAO: 3 weeks since last bug wiped her out, she's picked something up again. Currently asleep on the sofa - god knows what that will mean for bedtime!
Thinking of contacting the doctor tomorrow just to see if I should get her checked? Since the scarlet fever in November, she's been constantly ill - one bug to the next, never really recovering from any of them. Every cough or cold seems to hit her so much harder as well. Before she would just soldier on, but now she has temps of 40 every time, sleeps for days on end and is just really poorly with them. I know kids get every bug going, but she's off sick more than she goes in nowadays, which doesn't seem right to me? I guess I'm thinking maybe she could be anaemic or needs her tonsils out or something? I don't really know what to think.
Have you tried a multivitamin such as abidec to try and boost her immune system?
Unless there's a major issue being caused by tonsils they are reluctant to remove them.

Yeah she’s been sleeping 7:40pm to 7am for months. She’s at nursery Monday & Tuesday full days, Wednesday morning we have swimming then Wednesday PM just chill out in the house or maybe go to my Dads for an hour, Thursdays we have a toddler class in the morning and maybe park or a walk in the afternoon if the weather is ok. Fridays she’s with my dad so she has her horse riding lesson and plays up at their farm!

Saturday she’s usually out and about if she’s with me or her dad! We will go to the farm, eureka, role play, soft play .. just something fun! Sundays are usually just a chill day all day. It’s always been like this, we rarely have a full day inside. She prefers to be out and about and so do I or else she just gets bored after a few hours 😌 I think it’s just one of those weeks!
Sounds like a fun packed schedule. Mine is the same he doesn’t like being in at all. Not for a full day we always have to go out at some point.
Yeah it could be. Mine was doing it the other week. But the mornings are lighter lately that might have something to do with it ?

Yeah, you have to pay for it so there's obviously a cost implication but compared to the cost of myself or my husband having to take up to two weeks of unpaid leave to look after sick kids plus saving them the hassle of having to have chickenpox we decided it was worth it.
Loads of people don't know about it though, none of my friends seemed to!
Is it a needle administered vaccine?

Happy new year everyone xx

Just wondering if anyone has any advice..

My daughter is 3 soon so she’s becoming more aware of everything. My issue is when I drop her off at her Dads on a Saturday morning she REALLY doesn’t want to go. I tell her she’s going and she gets like the routine of her weeks (she can tell me what day she goes to grandads and what days I’m at work etc) .. she screams and says “come back home with you Mummy” and she will cry, my heart breaks! I know she’s fine there, she’s looked after but she doesn’t want to go.

She was meant to be staying there tonight (as well as last night) and I ended up getting her tonight cos she was literally sobbing and saying “back home mummy”, now, I spend a lot of time with her and it’s usually just us two. I do a lot with her and I wonder if it’s cos she’s bored there and since she only goes once a week it’s not the best for her?? I’m not sure.. she goes to my dads once a week whilst I work and she loves it there and I never have any issues dropping her off ☺

Is it seperation from me going to her dads that she finds hard? I’m just not sure, it breaks my heart leaving her when she clearly doesn’t want to go but I have no choice but to keep sending her..!

Her Dad doesn’t do a great deal with her, she’s got toys and colouring books at his house but I often get the impression she gets bored and that’s why she starts playing up. She never gets taken out anywhere as he doesn’t drive and cba to really go anywhere else on a bus etc..😒
Aww no. Can you ask her why she doesn’t want to go can she tell you? Maybe she just doesn’t want to go? Does she have to go? Would he be bothered if she didn’t go? Doesn’t sound like he makes an effort anyway!!

Has anyone had a 2 year old girl with a urine infection and what were the symptoms? My wee one hasn’t had much of an appetite since Friday, feels hot to touch, more clingy than usual and seems to be sleeping more than normal she usually doesn’t nap anymore during the day and she napped for a good few hrs yesterday and Saturday, she’s still on nappies but there’s no strong smell or anything so I’m not even sure if it’s a urine infection but she defiantly doesn’t seem like herself.

Not an arm, but a leg. They adapt really quickly, and after a few days (and when the hard cast is on) we found the pain was minimal. I know it feels like the hardest thing in the world now, but he will adapt very easily, and the time passes much more quickly than you’d think. The first few days are hardest.
He hasn’t been in that much pain from what I can tell which I’m very surprised at. But it’s just hard 😞 at least he’s sleeping thank god. I hope it does quick. I don’t like he’ll be missing out on nursery as well. And I’m not getting paid at work for the next week I’ve had to take special parental leave. He is doing very well I’m just so worried about him hurting it. He was a bit wobbly on his feet yesterday but he’s doing ok. My partner said to take him a walk outside so I think we might do that tomorrow or a car ride just for something to do.

Just had to wake Mini A up fully cos since 7:30pm all she’s done is cough cough cough and as I still use a monitor it was driving me mad! She’s not coughed again and wouldn’t sip water half asleep 😂Jesus Christ !!!!!!!!!

This has all prompted me to put a reminder in my calender to book the baby for his chickenpox vaccine as soon as I can, just hoping he doesn't get it naturally before he can have the vaccine!

So many poorly littles around at the moment, hope everyone is on the mend soon.
