yeah I do pack a lot in! But she enjoys it and I’m off with her for 2 days during the week so I guess that’s why I do so much as it compensates for nurseryI think I'd be tired doing all of that regardless of sleep I think![]()

I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I mean compared to her girlfriend she is completely opposite. Like her girlfriend Is like most of us on here. Where we worry a lot and question things our kids do. Question ourselves. She’s a fab hands on mum to her two kids and their daughter always says she is her fav parent. she is just different from other mums I know. Tougher I guess. No dads aren’t less important but they don’t have the same instincts as us. I cant really explain it in a way where it makes sense. I didn’t word it very well cos I was a little pissed off. This week is where quite a few comments have come up and im a bit agitated. But I hold my hands up and agree i shouldn’t have said that part. It doesn’t take away the fact she loves her kids and the kids think she’s amazing. So I don't usually comment here, as my daughter isn't a toddler yet, but reading ahead you know.
Others have already said you shouldn't feel bad. Every kid is different and you should do what feels best for you and your family, what other people do isn't important.
However, I want to genuinely ask you why you "should stress she didn't birth the baby". Why does that matter? Are dads less important as they didn't birth a baby? Are people who adopt less knowledgeable because they didn't birth their kids? I really don't get it. I don't ask this to cause a scene. It's just sad to see how much stigma same sex couples still have to deal with, in this day and age.
Glad to read thisWe have been discharged and are home![]()

With horrid antibiotics we have to pin her down and force feed her 4 times a day but still! We are home.
Oh you poor things, how horribleCurrently in hospital with a very poorly mini Pillows after her chickenpox got infected.
This is the worst I've ever seen her, and the first time we've actually been admitted to childrens ward. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy right now
She had a temp of 41.5 which is why we came in. She's having IV antibiotics and paracetamol.
Just wanted to whinge basically about how unfair this all feels and how I really don't feel Christmassy right now![]()
awwww!! My daughter is how you described yours in the first paragraph!I was happy to co sleep with my eldest but she was not having it from day 1 she wanted her own space and we never co slept, I tried it a couple of times when she was wide awake in the middle of the night and she'd just rocket round the bed climbing all over us and generally being irritating.
So with this baby I thought we'd do the same, he slept well in his next to me, but then one day he just stopped! Tried the cot in case he was being too big for the next to me, no luck. So ever since about 5 months he has been in our bed either from about 10pm when we go to bed or from some time in the early hours. I thought I'd hate it but I actually don't mind it, and the cuddles are lovely.
What stroller have you got now? I’ve seen a few but there are so many! Trike is a good shout. We already have one so if all else fails we’ll be taking that with usI think a stroller is always a good thing to have. My kids have always gone into a stroller before they are 1 as I hate the bulkyness of a travel system. We have used 4 different strollers for each child, and I can honestly say the one we have now is the best. It folds up into a square and you can put it up/take it down with one hand. However, as she is older, you can get cheap ones that don’t break the bank. I never look back after buying a stroller
Failing that, what about a trike? She might like that better?
Oh my goodness. If it isn’t 1 it’s the otherYeah! Ah we didn't ring for T2, I had to ring for the 9yo, he dropped his inhaler in the canalTwin 2 has open access to the children's ward so she'll be straight in if she starts with this funny business.
I'm not surprised it's like that though with all the news reports coming out, hopefully they get a handle on it quickly for these little people![]()
Oh bless her. Well if you’re ok with her coming in to your bed I would just put her to sleep like normal in her room and if she wakes up and won’t go back in try the sleep on the floor again and sneak out when she’s asleep? And last resort let her in your bed if you want to.We'd taken to not shutting mini Pillows stair gate at night as she'd never made any attempt to leave her room.. anyway the last couple of weeks, she's started to toddle on through to our bed and just climb in in the middle of the night. Stupidly we let her do it.. anyway last night it was midnight, and I decided that was too early (I don't mind 3/4am) so took her back in her room and shut the gate this time. Cue massive meltdown, clinging on to the gate, for over an hour... eventually my partner slept on her floor and she was fine.
If you ask her in the morning why she came in, she says she's scared of monsters. I know we shouldn't have let her do it to begin with and she's now understandably confused by the mixed messaging.. but does anyone have any tips? How do I get her to stop being scared of her room? She has a nightlight etc. Or do I just go with it and let her come in to our bed?
Omg I know I always think this when something like that happensAnother one with a coughing child herewe also had spew in the bed at 11pm, not sure I can ever eat spag bol again
