"I've processed what's going to happen."
"I've gotten stronger."
"[The surgeon] said 'how are you so strong?'"

She's so deeply in denial. I wonder if the surgeon actually said that.
She's no idea what's about to happen to her. We're watching a train wreck in slow motion.
The surgeon’s question was most likely a skilled therapeutic communication technique, a moment meant to help her reflect and see past her denial.

A steely dan is slang for a dildo. And these thing sre medical appliances and no sex toys. An innocent bystander must think that I must be mad to post such things here. 🫣
I don't think so, don't worry. It's clearly about the surgery, they'd just need to click the link to see what it actually is.

If it was me the only way I could face it was by sticking to the belief it would be curative. I don’t blame her. It might not be the case - but that’s a problem for another time.
Agreed, but I do think some of it is a front too. While I think she absolutely wants to believe that, and most of the time she might succeed, I'm sure late at night other thoughts creep in too, it's only natural. I also think it's self protective to immediately try and usher those thoughts out.

Matt taking junk food to a bowel cancer surgery appointment is so Matt. They're like two kids who eat Frosted Flakes and fish sticks for dinner and wash it down with Mountain Dew.
This is what pis**es me off!😡 enabling and haven’t done any research on better food choices.
Matt also wanted her to watch and wait! I hope she sets up a will and leaves it to her niece/ nephews and mother. I also hope she lives through this and has a long life ♥

If you really want to get a sense of how incredibly often T repeats herself, watch the vid with no sound but just subtitles. Seriously, the same phrase is often repeated 3x in a row.
I calso continue to be amazed at how awful her diet is, cancer or no cancer.

Such a fluff-filled video when so much could have been included. 🙄

At least she had the clarity to understand she really has no choice as chemo and radiotherapy did not work very well. I was glad to hear her admit that, at least.

I doubt we'll ever get clear information if all she could say in this one is colon surgery and she didn't want to meet with the other specialties, she just wanted it over and done with. I doubt we'll have any more specificity than she's given. She probably knows the date after meeting other specialists this week, but just chose to leave in the earlier uncertainty part between mid-December or January. A few moments of tragic realisation in the car (that Matt seemed oblivious to), then more gift opening and holiday showcasing.

Again, a lifestyle blogger who unfortunately must occasionally speak of her cancer in order to maintain the growing audience drawn to her *cancer* titles. Time to just accept that it won't be anything more. At least I'm clear if I choose to ever watch another one. I wonder why all the nitpickers and complainers continue to waste their time watching, then come here to whinge about it? It is what it is. It's a vapid lifestyle blogger masquerading as a cancer influencer. We really can't expect any more from her now, she's in the crux of it, yet as insipid and vacuous as ever.

doing my part in finding new tattlers~ but also for education purposes too, because let's be honest. If Tiff isn't outlining exactly what is happening in this surgery, then all her followers also have no clue either. had to dress up the comment a bit so it wouldn't be flagged immediately (=
Wonder how long that will stay in there!

Today Fluffy had this advice for Tiff ... put a flump in your hot chocolate!! I had to look it up ... a flump is a UK product, it's basically a blob of marshmallow. Thanks Fluffy for your useless nutritional advice.

There's old footage of her drinking kefir for breakfast. Kefir is something recommended for those with UC or Crohn's and it is really, really good for so many things. I wonder why she doesn't do that now? I felt sorry for her when she had pain in the car ride in her latest video. I cannot eat before I go for a car ride, even if it's a short trip, because food just won't digest and go down. It's awful. I notice that she ate prior to her appointment, as most people do, and I was wondering if she was experiencing pain as the food had to pass the point where she had the biopsy and the stitches. It was hard to watch.

Just watched the latest vlog. How sad it all is. She is massively in denial even though she thinks she isn't. I think that the following things need to happen asap:
Counselling. It's been offered, she needs to go. Trying to 'keep busy' to block things out will only work up to a point. She needs to let out her fears and emotions in a neutral environment. Then she might be better placed to stop protecting Matt and Amma and tell them what she really feels.
Diet. It's dreadful. In this one vlog alone,we have pink doughnuts, croquettes, fajitas, car junk food, white bread and sausages. I'd kill to see her eat a casserole with some greens, or some salmon etc. It's not rocket science that good food encourages good healing.
Research. She needs to find out everything she can about the op and the life she will have afterwards. Knowledge is power. It doesn't mean the end of optimism. It's fine to stay hopeful. But Matt telling her she will be cancer-free is inaccurate and quite dangerous. She might be or she might not. She needs to know the various possible outcomes.

@LoveisLove the thread closed before I could reply to you. A colostomy is where the Colon is brought through the stomach and an ileostomy where the ileum is brought through the stomach. As her cancer is in her colon and this is what is being removed, I presume she’ll be having an ileostomy. I’m only basing this on my experience though, I could be totally wrong! My colon was removed due to Crohns and not Cancer

The comments on her channel are alarming...and laughable. I saw one lady who had the same surgery and was out of the hospital in 5 days.. Driving the following day. But these are the ones she wants surrounding her and will listen to, not her doctors...or US!

The devil is in the details! Will Tiffany have a computed tomography (CT) scan in order to determine the optimum area from which to take the tissue to construct the 'neo-vagina'?? From this article, experts have written that that is part of the pre-operative preparation. I am wondering if Tiffany already had this type of scan, but didn't know why, and thus didn't mention it?
This article describes, in detail, the procedure. Photos are graphic.

Immediate vaginal reconstruction following pelvic
exenteration using the pedicled vertical Deep Inferior
Epigastric Perforator (DIEP) flap: A technical note
D. Sawan, R. Bosc, S. La Padula, E. Leblanc, F. Narducci, C. Touboul, J.-P.
Meningaud, B. Hersant

Pre-Operative Preparation
Computed tomography (CT) angiography should be performed to choose the harvest
side before surgery. A urologist, gynecologic, or digestive surgeon should be consulted
to determine the side for harvesting based on the quality of the perforators (seen on the
CT scan) and the options for urinary and digestive diversion (colostomy, Miami) [5]

I took a break from her videos and the thread but decided to watch today's.. it's really concerning how she thinks that in a few years time this will just be a blur of the past. The operation she's having will be a lifelong change for her, I hope when she meets the other surgeons it will sink in a bit more for her. However I don't think she will take in anything from the other surgeons as she didn't even want to meet with them?? I can't comprehend why she wouldn't want to speak with them at all and would have been happy to go ahead without it.

Has she mentioned anything else about counselling? because she clearly needs it

Many great and caring posts for Tiffany here👍👍.
Correct me if I’m wrong but shouldn’t T be eating anything, just anything to get her weight up? I don’t think she needs to be concerned about calories, diabetes etc. She just needs to eat a lot now!

So if I were her family, I’d buy her pizzas, ice creams, chocolate cakes, Chinese dinners, Indian vegetable curries, wraps, fried rice, chicken soup etc. oily, healthy or not (even her fav KFC). She can’t be a skeleton while recovering as she won’t be able to eat much after surgery. Of course there is the toileting worry as well. But if she is doing #2 fine, then eat up. Not much time to gain weight! My opinion only. What do u guys think?🤔

Some of those foods could make the bleeding worse. Chocolate, coffee, tea, curries, fried food, etc. could aggravate the tumour and rice and certain rougher foods (like nuts or something with seeds or skin) could cause an intestinal blockage since her colon is narrower due to the cancer. She should have access to a nutritionist who could help her.

I think it's also a matter of building up her muscles; After surgery she will be in bed for a very long time, muscles will decline; Plus she needs to worry about bedsores. This is serious stuff, why isn't a single soul in that family smart enough to contact a diëtist to make a schedule for her when/what/and how much she should eat.
