I'm sure it's been said before but when YouTubers in their make up tutorials say "now I'm going to go in with the blusher, now I'm going to go in with the eyeliner" etc

Makes me want to go in with a slap

People who post their gym routine for the week

10 x crunches
300 x squats

who gives a duck? 🤣

Not even a week in the summer holidays but I’m so sick of seeing people’s kids with a massive paragraph about how loved they are.
You’re their parents you’re supposed to love them.
Performative parenting 😬

Rebecca Lamb,I know shes a useless mother and a narcissist, but posting sexualised pregnancy images to pregnancy fetish pages and groups is sick, even worse there are these type of groups on IG..She is tagged on the page, her kids are now visible to the type of perverts that want to sexualise pregnancy. The laws need to change to stop children being used by parents like this, if the parents wont safeguard them, then the law has got to. Previously she had videos and images on porn hum and even breast feeding videos etc, its gone on since her last pregnancy, when she an her partner were informed, his response was, you see worse on the beach. She knows her images are on the page as she is tagged

My algorithm for ads being too successful and making me buy stuff lol

To follow on from this… when people announce an engagement or pregnancy online and someone will always say “So glad the news is finally out there!” Or “Yay! Congratulations again!” Letting every other friend know that they are a *better* friend for knowing before the public announcement… 🙄
Stole the words out of my mouth lol. It always feels like they are making it about them lol

I hate those posts where the account has been hacked by some 'bitcoin' or 'bank transfer company' and they post a screenshot of a very successful bank transfer. Part of me knows it's not entirely the real users fault but also part of me is like HOW can you be so stupid to click links or provide them details?!

When people can't be arsed to spell your name properly, even though they're replying to you.

When you ask a company a question which doesn't involve giving personal details (ie, what's the difference between this product and that product?) and they ask you to message them. I'm sure I'm not the only person who wants to know the answer.

I’m getting sick of the fact that everything on social media has to be a ‘message’.

For example - “this is for all the girls out there who have always felt lonely/not worn the shorts <insert any emotion or hatred towards a body part here> … this time last year I had no friends/hated my thighs, but my message to you is say ‘yes’ to new experiences/ wear the damn shorts!”

I understand the positive mindset aspect of it, and when it was the occasional post I didn’t mind…but honestly, it’s so saturated now!
Every other status or photo is someone preaching how to feel at others. So much virtue signalling and performative behaviour.

I guess everyone wants to go viral!

I really do miss the days when we had autonomy over our thoughts and behaviours and didn’t need a wannabe ‘influencer’ on the internet telling us what’s ok/not ok…

I can’t sleep so that turned into a rant, sorry 😂

Photos of holidays with people saying their family are making “core memories” 🙄 We’re not in a bloody Pixar film.

Only seen this once but…. I’m a member of a dog related group on FB and just saw someone refer to their puppy as a ‘rainbow puppy’. I’m not even sure what that means?! I don’t think they breed (which might be just about acceptable if they lost a litter) - seems massively insensitive to baby loss.
Social media has just become a source of astonishment and discomfort at this stage.

Omg yes, this is it! And reading this thread you realise how bizarre the whole thing has become. Someone here said it perfectly earlier about everything becoming some sort of moral lesson/learning and opportunity to go viral or brand yourself in a certain way. It’s really sad it’s come to this.

Don’t get me wrong I love the mundane content of close friends - I would rather see someone’s burst tyre than some tit “inspirational” essay on motherhood.

Sick of seeing news articles on FB like 'I bought my own house at age 12 whilst running a business and going to school' whilst in reality it's all funded by the parents. Similarly 'I saved for my first house whilst working minimum wage at age 21' yeah whilst living at home with parents and paying any bills ofc you were able to save.

It's just annoying and puts so many people down. Like well done on being privileged enough to live rent-free with your parents at age 21, don't see how it's newsworthy in the slightest.

It’s like seeing a video from influencers with the title “I travelled ALONE to the US age 19!!!” Or “house tour! my own house at 21!!!”

Like yeah congrats on taking money from brands for literally posting on Instagram to be able to do that

When people lie about things on social media, that you know are lies because you were there when it happened 🤦🏼‍♀️

Have a neighbour who constantly posts those mum memes of 'doing it all by myself' etc etc.

She's had family and friends, as well as her husband helping her everyday since the baby was born. I don't understand the logic.

There’s a mum on social media I had to unfollow because she would constantly post photos with braggy captions about how she’d succeeded against the odds despite having her husband abandon them and having a disabled child. Bragged about putting herself through uni and buying a house.

Not much is ever said about having incredibly rich parents who bankrolled the entire thing, including a nanny.

I basically hate any posts on social media about children, it is becoming worse and worse, no one cares about your child's tantrum or first day at school, save it for the whatsapp group with people who care
