The back to school photos with the child walking through the door, while there toys wave good bye.

Back to school poems, or first day poems. My eldest starts this week and I know I will be a bit emotional but the expectation seems to be I should be sobbing on my knees outside the school gate.

I just want to back up the Tattler who said their parents didn't get up on their 1st day of secondary as it was relatively the norm back in th 80s!🤣

I haven’t seen any pumpkin patch pictures yet but I give it 2 weeks.

I didn’t see many sunflower field uploads over the summer either so perhaps these gormless instatrends will finally die out.

Just the whole predictable charade of back-to-school, then Halloween, then Christmas. It's a massive cliché.

I refuse to feel like a bad mum for not buying into it. I also have a good excuse for not taking part - we're Jewish, and there isn't quite so much commercialised tat surrounding the Jewish holidays, at least not in the UK. America is awash with it.

Also j get that you would be emotional, but why should anyone else care? A colleague showed me a photo of her child (who I have never met) outside her front door, I had no idea what inwS supposed to comment. Needless to say I didn't ask to see it

'Influencers' that are so obviously boasting about EVERYTHING in every single one of the upwards of 20 stories they post a day e.g. a timestamped photo at 5:30 in the morning in bed as if to say ha ha you lazy peasants, I'm up earlier than you, a list of their to dos for the day to make it seem like they're really busy (which is usually LESS than the average person does in a day), a 'casual' photo of their meal at a fancy restaurant with a bottle of wine that you know cost hundreds in the background, look at meeee I'm on a boat on the Amalfi Coast. They all do it and are such raging narcissists but their followers seem to lap it up?! I hate this bleeping 'culture' that social media has created and the obvious attempts to big themselves up and validate themselves while wanting to make others feel like tit. Makes me feel like this

I have a feeling the weather affected sunflowers this year - pretty sure you would have seen it if you could have 🤣

People in Facebook yellow sticker groups posting, 'does anyone have ideas, I've no food in the house and only £5 until next week to feed a family of 6.'My issue is when the same people are on other Facebook groups and post the £140 haul they'd just bought from Home bargains. People can spend their money how they want, but then shouldn't expect other people , especially strangers to either give money or send them food. If you know you have a family to feed, prioritise that over buying Halloween crap and candles. I will happily help anyone in genuine need but not idiots who choose to waste money on crap instead of feeding their kids.

Mother's posting that they're so sad the summer holidays are over they're going to miss their kids so much...

Stop lying!! 😂

Poor kids as well if they see that, it's almost guilt tripping them for going to school and having friends/hobbies!

Anything that says “watch til the end” gets an automatic nope from me. Stupid reels often with no punchline, just clickbait for views, have ruined the internet.

When someone asks a question and there are loads of comments with the same answer , really annoys me for some reason like they have be "oh yes that's...." why can't people grasp that if someone has answered just leave it!!!!

I saw a post someone shared on Facebook. Their child had started reception and the school had given parents a little card with a poem on and a pack of tissues. The poem basically said about using the tissues to wipe away tears as the children are getting older and that you'll miss your children when they are at school.

Am I a terrible mum as I couldn't wait for mine to go to school 🤣

I think this is going to become more common:

I hate it when you see on local FB pages someone writing "my son is 16 and looking for a little job, anyone know of anything?" Er how about your son asks for himself?!

Friends with school aged children who post their child's first day of school, now they're in year 5 or whatever and they say they can't believe it's happened so quickly.

YES! I hate it when I see one I am not expecting on FB. We live in an old house and get loads of huge ones, luckily one of our cats is an expert spider hunter so it's normally dead ones!
