I liked the backstory with Bella Goth going missing and Mortimer getting with Dina but she was shagging Don who was also shagging her sister Nina, and Don was shagging Bella 🤣

sims 2 don vs sims 4 don is offensive lol

Sounds best to avoid until they fix the age up glitch! Although you can edit them in CAS using cheats and set their age back to where you want it.

The lack of random deaths in households you’re playing is part of what makes Sims 4 dull after a while… the only things I’ve had kill my sims apart from old age is if I send them out jogging in the heat and one who died of being hysterical. I miss when they used to get hit by meteors (although I think that has come back with the telescope?) and electrocuted by trying to fix electronics.

I’ve had multiple townies drown in my family’s pool because they just keep swimming until they snuff it 😂

Absolutely love it. I first played it at a friend's when I was about 10 and begged my dad for it 😂
Sims 2 was literally my childhood, I remember spending my entire summer holiday on it once, it was glorious!
I rarely use gameplay, I just build and build. Tbf the current gameplay is boring anyway, but I can't believe how far we've come in terms of the graphics. I've tried going back to playing on 2 after playing 4 and it just feels too dated.
I also go through phases where I don't play for months and then play it intensely. Now that the new Snowy Escape is out and the new updates (adjustable height platforms, oof be still my beating heart) I'll probably play over Xmas!

I once gave the HM a tour of my kitchen just as a fire started. He was freaked out, the time was wasted to socialise and schmooze and continue with the tour, and I only had the burnt food to serve him which he understandably didn’t like.

i made up a whole storyline about Brandi Broke reporting my children to social services to get them taken away and whichever family I played, I made the Brokes’ their enemy by default.
Oh gosh how stressful have you recovered.
The sheer heart attack I’d have when buy mode stopped and the burglar music came on 😶

For Sims 2, there is a Facebook page just called the Sims 2 and they have a link for an all in one download for the game which is safe to use.

Sims 2 is by far my favourite! I got every expansion pack and stuff pack for free from EA :) I think they are also doing it for the Sims 3 now as well as long as you have the actual disc for it, go to their chat help online and ask them and they will ask you to take a picture of the disc and that days date and send it and then they send you a link to download eeeeeeverything 😍

Sims 4 was bloody awful. I only played it a few times. I never played 3 so can’t compare it to that but I was shocked at how backwards the gameplay had gone. So babyish and basic.

omg that Is insane? what did you even ask them for them to give you the link?!
I LOVE the sims, even as a almost 30 year old. Spent so many days and nights playing the sims 1 when I was in junior school. Bricking it when the burglar used to come and you couldn't do anything hahah. Superstar was so difficult too I could never get more than 3 and a half stars! I miss being a kid :(

I LOVED The Sims and used to spend hours playing it. I got bored when the expansion packs were released though as there was too many.

Also loved Theme Park and Hospital. Would love to play The original Theme Hospital and Sims again ❤

Omg so glad to have found this thread!! I first started playing it when I was 8 and I’m still playing it at 22 😂

I loveeee sims 2. The expansions were amazing - Bon Voyage was the best! And the family backstories were so well thought out. Also loved the wants and fears feature

Sims 3 is my probably favourite. Even though the sims look like potatoes (god bless cc) and the game can be super slow, I never find myself getting bored on it

I enjoy sims 4 but it feels very repetitive. I wish there were more traits and aspirations, and just more to do in general. I don’t enjoy building, so that side doesn’t appeal to me

I also loved the sims 2 ds game!!! Running the hotel was so fun. Although I’ll never forget the pain of having to find 5 mechanical skill points!!

The sims 2 PSP game was also brilliant. There was that scary beast that would get you if you were out in the town at night!! I really want to replay it now!!
With the Sims 4 I hate that you can’t freely walk about the map as you could with the Sims 3. I used to spend hours walking the map, looking for gems and seeds 😅

I was on the Sims 4 subreddit, and watching a few of James Turners' building videos, and they have this great idea for building. It's for anyone who has lost their building mojo, or can't quite think how to start a house. You use one of the free AI picture generators like DALL-E, and type in something like "Witches castle Sims 4" or "ultramodern LA house" or something reasonably specific so it generates a selection of images based on your prompt. The website "This house Does Not Exist" does the same thing, but with a randomly generated prompt.

You'll get some hilariously peculiar houses, and all the angles and geometry are WEIRD, but it gives you a great starting point, and hauls you out of your comfort zone if you're prone to building the same layout/style over and over. I had great fun with it!

I’ve just treated myself to cottage living, and I’m enjoying it so far! I haven’t played for ages, I’m sure I’ll get bored in a few weeks 🤣 what are your ‘must have’ packs? I feel like they could have done more with sims 4.

I personally like more game play as I like having generation families. I’m not interested in Star Wars etc.

I’m not entirely confident paralives is ever going to be released. There’s a lot of hype and talk about functions but with it being a small dev team I think they’ve bitten off more than they can chew. There’d have to be a good reason for me to move to TS5. I play sims 4 but mod the hell out of it to get the gameplay I want. But nothing seems to engage me as much as TS2 did.

Does anyone else love the Sims for the escapism it gives? If I’m having a really stressful time I find the Sims helps to take my mind to another place and it’s such a relief.
This is why I play video games in general. I just love being able to immerse myself into a world and take my mind off of what ever. It’s the same as people who watch tv or read a book really.

Also love owning a house on Sims and doing it up, getting promoted at work every day and rolling in ££££, it’s so much harder to achieve in real life🤣

First purchase, been renting for a few years so I'm mostly just hoping that my furniture goes into my household inventory and moves automatically without me having to pack it all 😂
Make sure you shout “bb move objects” if things don’t fit where you want them to 🤣

I honestly don't see why people panic about this possible TS5 announcement.
It was bound to come someday. How much more DLCs can TS4 manage? It's all getting very buggy and ultimately it's like masquing an ugly cake with fondant - all these expansions are a sugary coat with no substance on a lackluster, bare-bones game.
And what if they really did continue to "improve" TS4 for years? That would only bring more new content, more DLC and you would spent even more money before TS5 inevitably comes. Not to mention, TS4 has some major issues that cannot be fixed with a simple update, it's just how the game was made.
Whatever TS5 turns out to be, and I'm really not holding my breath that it's gonna be amazing, it's still something entirely new and it's always interesting to see in what direction the franchise goes. That doesn't mean you have to immediately stop playing TS4, or ever, for that matter.
