The only thing that worries me about this, what's going to happen with the pup when you're working 7 days? Pups are very very hard work and their first few weeks are important for development etc. I've heard of folks who can't for reasons have their own dog, but can walk other folks dogs, can't remember the website name.
I can take it to work

I don’t think so. I don’t want a dog that comes with issues at least with a puppy if it turns out to have issues I can blame myself. Also probably they wouldn’t rehome to me since they are so strict. Have a dog at my parents but I moved out last year and miss having a dog. I work 7 days and then off 7 days I want a dog so on my 7 days off I’m more active as now I struggle to find stuff to do
Good luck with whatever you choose, remember to post pics here 😁

@Former_Antelopee the rescues are less strict than you’d imagine, I work two days a week from home and three in the office, and was upfront about that from the beginning… the centre I rescued from literally said ‘oh so you’re around most of the time then’ and that was it. If you can take the dog to work I’d really give it some thought, or at least see what’s available around you. Admittedly my dog does have issues (lead reactivity and traffic chaser) but I’m so so so happy I’ve given her a safe home and I was offered as many training sessions with their behaviourist as I needed to build my confidence with her.

I’ll have a look closer to the time thank you

I'm sorry but if you're worried about separation anxiety, taking a pup to work, then spending the next week home with it, of course when you leave it on its own it'll cause problems. Maybe ask in the puppies thread in advice on here.

Don’t worry I plan to definitely not be with it all the time. When I’m off for the week there will be days I’ll leave it at home and go out for a few hours alone so it’ll get used to being alone. I work nights so I probably won’t take it to work every night so it’s used to being alone then as well. I can nip home on my lunch break as I only live 5 minutes away to let it out. At work I will leave it in a crate whilst I’m working in a room on its own and let it out and spend time with it on my breaks. It’s also only really 6 days as the first night I can do without sleeping. I 100% plan to try and do everything not to make it have separation anxiety. Also plan on taking it to daycare sometimes whilst I’m sleeping in the day so it socialises with other dogs and people. I’d just like to get a more independent breed so it’s less prone to separation anxiety to begin with

Thank you for explaining, hope you get a bundle of joy(though pups are cute, but blimey are hard work!) But having a dog is sooo worth it.

I’ve decided to keep the little monster.. she is verging in feral (she’s a Romanian street dog) but Jesus I’ve never been loved by an animal as much as Bella.
Aww, I'm so glad you've decided to keep her, how could you not, look at that face.
