all through the afternoon of the Thursday before the announcement came that The Queen had died, we had 5 hours of Nick Witchell refusing to speculate having spent the previous hours doing just that … and then ploughing right on with continuation of. speculation. So basically speculating because Witchellating.What does Witchelling mean?

I wondered if the queen has ever had to do this or Charles or indeed any member of the senior royal family? I know there were reports of Catherine shopping in Waitrose, but it does make me wonder what ordinary things they actually do. I often complain about household chores, but I think if I never had to do anything like that again, I might miss it. How do they fill their days if they don't have chores? Even loading the dishwasher.

Not speculation, widely and authoritatively reported from on the ground in Jamaica.nah, why would a mixed race princess somewhere in the fam change the wish of a country to get their own HoS? At this point the HOS is still as white as can be for decades to come? Making such a decision depending on race is pretty worrisome anyway. Either they want an elected person and one of their own citizens (which could be another monarchy as well) or just remove old colonial ties. All valid reasons. MM wouldn’t have been an inside source? She might visited once or twice at most, sinking down the line quickly with the Cambridgelings growing up. She is not even from one of those nations? Just because she is mixed race is not the saying she has anymore ties to the country or cares more about it? Are all black or mixed race people in one pot now? Sorry but if that’s a reason for or against the UK monarch the reasoning is weak.
But yes, the fact she accused them of active racism didn’t help but I don’t see how this will be a real tipping point- especially as many are already determined to drop them. We are not talking about quick referendums but elections for those politics that had been years in the making. Furthermore, many people (yes even black ones) don’t exactly believe her claims or have started to form reasonable doubts. And all in all the general reaction to this shocker was actually shockingly calm. They played a big card and nothing really came of it.
My personal opinion: I get why KC says he will be their HoS as long as they want him but honestly cutting them all loose would resolve this constant criticism asap. It might look ungrateful and unfair to the ones that wanted to keep him, but in the long run it looks much better if you give it up than waiting till they send you off. And it might cut off the drama about reparations rather than waiting for an anti-monarchy dynamic.
I think any Consort worth their salt needs to make their peace with being the ‘Support Act’. In spite of the late DofE’s strong personality he performed this role impeccably. Would she binge on a sharing size bar of chocolate while watching tv? I think when Meghan says she didn’t Google the Royal Family, she is totally lying. But I think what she’s trying to say is that she didn’t go back to articles from 2010 to see the abuse Kate got.
I do agree with H&M that she shouldn’t expect to get abused, but equally I don’t agree with them that it’s the palace’s place to stop this.
I think a lot of their comments piss people in the UK off because we feel like the Royals owe us something as we fund them through taxes, where as in America they are received better because they don’t.
The idea that someone going to South Africa, on behalf of the Government, and at the expense of the tax payer, and then complaining about it, leaves a bitter taste for some people.
It’s the same with the idea she’s claims she couldn’t seek help for her mental health struggles. Harry, with William and Kate, literally founded a mental health charity, and William and Harry had already both spoken about how they had sort treatment. There are 10,000’s of people in the UK in desperate need of mental health support who can’t access it because of the state of the NHS, where as the RF can easily have a discrete private sessions, multiple times a week if they wanted!
I don’t think she really understood the role of a royal, I think she thought it was the same as being a celebrity and it isn’t.
I think though, that if the rumours she wants to run for office in America are true, she should stop slagging off the RF and the UK in general as the behaviour will just be massively used against her to show she isn’t fit for office.

What Markle means by false stories is, stories which challenge her long record of lying to reporters, as well as legitimate assaults, like the DM's "straight outta Compton" story. But if the Queen, who famously, and uniquely, among world leaders talked to African and Caribbean leaders annually at Commonwealth conferences and danced with Nkrumah, had been enlisted as the anti-racism warrior she might have been, things might have turned out differently.

The pap pictures of her early in their relationship were all very obviously set up by her and nobody was chasing her anywhere. LA-style PR 101 - call the paps and then claim they're harassing you. Her extra benefit from lying about being harassed was forcing Harry to publicly confirm their relationship.This was probably to do with the massive crowds of photographers who followed Diana from her front door to her car. Yes there may have been lots of not very nice stories about Meghan but I haven’t seen any footage of a similar clamour of photographers chasing Meghan down the street.
