Bless him. Honestly can't believe he's got the strength to go and do that, even with a smile in a way to reassure the public. I know it's a sense of duty, but the fact he's still wanting to make himself available to the public in his moment of intense grief is admirable.

I've been following the news since it started yesterday afternoon and I must say seeing The King meeting the crowds has really got me.

Does anyone else feel slightly uncomfortable with the 3 cheers for the king etc? It's been less than 24 hours since his beloved "mummy" died (as he often referred to her in speeches), and it just seems a bit odd to be whooping and cheering for him.

Seeing people with their phones practically in his face made me feel very uncomfortable. I'd have wanted to lamp them to be honest. It just feels disrespectful

Yeah the phones pissed me off too.. like are you there to show respects or just to get a photo for the 'gram?

I have only lost one person, and it was my Nan who was my everything. When she died, a part of me died and afterwards I could barely function. Didn’t want to get out of bed, didn’t want to shower, didn’t want to eat, didn’t want to do anything. These Royals don’t have that ‘luxury’ and it does break my heart knowing that they are humans, and will be broken inside with the grief but they still have to suit up and get in with it. That was amazing watching Charles meet the crowds and I hope it gave him some comfort. They all must be exhausted.

So uncomfortable 😳 it just feels so... Wrong... Such a strange thing to witness. Can't imagine how difficult that was for Charles but he did really well. Camilla looked like she was going to burst into tears looking at the flowers.

Wasn't a fan of the kissing. The public should have more respect than that.

It’s to much and quite disrespectful, a handshake is sufficient enough, grabbing the king for kiss isn’t right! His bodyguards were telling people to enjoy the moment and not to take photos until he had passed out of their way

Our minister has just announced they've opened a book of condolences out for the next 10 days. Definitely going to go and pay my respects

It was good that the security officer kept saying to people “enjoy the moment.”
