Mine are my Internet dating ick's... I'm just venturing back into the world of dating after 10 years 😳 and my colleagues all laugh at me because he only has to say or do one icky thing and I'm like... NEXT. 🙈

Profile pic sticking his tongue out 🤢
Profile pic wearing wide leg jeans with shoes
Profile pic of just abs muscles

Profile saying "do any girls actually reply?"
Profile with a list of what he isn't looking for
Profile saying he's a 'pilot' 'managing director' or studied at the 'University of life'

Replying to 'how are you' with "I'm good but I'm really horny"....🥴 of course you are babe <🙄 unmatch>

Things in every day life...

If he wears sliders
The fear of a man undressing and wearing actual pants (y front things) haunts me so much that if it happened I wouldn't be able to continue with the evenings plans 🤣
Farting or the discussion of any bodily function on the first few dates
Being tight with or worrying out loud about money on a date.
Innuendos
Wearing any same item on date 2 that was worn on date 1
Smelling bad
White socks, unless to the gym
Grey joggers 🤢 (sorry girls! 🙈)
Shaved chest
Any clingy behaviour
Double texting when I haven't replied to the first message yet
Fungal nails 🤮

Oh god I'm going to be single forever! Haha

There’s some brilliant posts on here! 😂

I met up with one of my oldest friends last night and she reminded me of something that I’d blocked from my mind 😂 it wasn’t a date as such but there’s definite ‘Ick’

Back in my early 20’s we’d had a new bloke start at work, he was harmless enough but he was what I refer to as a ‘nosey bastard’ used to ask everyone loads of questions even when it was something completely mundane and if you ever ended up on your own with him he just wouldn’t take the hint when the conversation naturally dried up and he’d just continue talking at you.

As far as I’m aware I gave him no signals but he kept asking me to go for a drink with him, I kept saying no but it didn’t seem to deter him. One of the times he’d asked me to go for a drink straight from work, I told him I couldn’t go as I was meeting my friend, she was back up from Uni and we were going for food and a few drinks in town (not far from where I worked at the time) hadthe usual thing of who was my friend, where did she go to Uni, what was she studying, where were we going? Blah, blah, blah 🙄

As I’d gone to leave work that night my colleagues said to have a nice night and one had said that we ought to go to a particular bar as they did amazing cocktails.

So I met my friend and we headed to this bar that my colleague had mentioned, got our drinks and went and sat down at a table - about 15 mins later, guess who walks in? He made a beeline straight for us, took his coat off, hung it on the back of a chair and went ‘I’ll be back in a minute’ and sauntered off to the bar!

My friend asked who he was so I filled her in and we decided to let him stop and have a drink with us in the hopes he’d bugger off - no such luck, 3 hours later he was still with us and ended up coming for a curry with us! It was one of the most akward nights I’ve ever had, he wasn’t even walking alongside us but behind us like some sort of nightstalker!

To make matters worse he then spent the next day at work making out like he was my best mate, everyone though it was hilarious 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

In his defence, he refused to take it, but being the 21st century woman that I am I snuck it in his car and told him later.

We show up, we dress nice, we entertain these men and humour them, the least he can do is pay his own petrol! 😂 ESPECIALLY if he gives you the ick.

I used to date a guy whole would always, always wear a manky orange lanyard round his neck. It had his car key on and he was so terrified of losing it. I hated it. People always used to make comments about it as well!

I loved all your points, I'm curious to hear the actual stories! 😂 Was it all from one guy or was it different guys? Start with the one staring at you and saying "hi" 🤢🤢🤢😂😂😂
All one guy!! This was on date 3 when I went over to his (in hindsight, an error of judgment on my part) I thought it would be a chilled Friday evening on the sofa drinking wine

Anyway it started with the eye gazing which gave me the Ick straight away. I hoped he would chill out after a drink, which wasn't even wine, it was beer from a can! And which he nursed for hours in the most unmanly way. Then came the guitar..

After failed attempt at sex, he wanted to smoke weed "to help him sleep" and proceeded to put on a dressing gown and those horrendous slipper boot things to go into the garden

When I went to use the bathroom at 10pm he told me not to turn on the light/fan as this would disturb his flatmate so could I please use my phone torch

The next morning I couldn't wait to get outta there, had to witness the hair straightening, and then he asked me about staying for board games

I haven't seen him since.

My friends have said to do this, however last time I stopped speaking to him (after saying I'm not interested and gradually fizzing the conversation out), he spoke to the people that I'm still in contact with from school who then asked me why I wouldn't see him/give him a chance. For a whole month I felt like a broken record: "I just don't want anything and it doesn't seem fair to lead him down a garden path" 😭😂

I can imagine if I blocked him I'd have everyone who I'm still close with from school finding out and asking questions. As an adult it does my swede in that they're still like it.
This is your life, not theirs! I’d tell them to fuck off and go out with him themselves if they’re that interested 🥴😂 Honestly nip it in the bud now otherwise it’ll be harder once you’ve met up! Just spell it out to him, one message, done...‘I am NOT INTERESTED in you in any way’

My boyfriend does some strange and annoying things but havent been put off 😭😂

The one thing that really gives me the icky is when I see men drinking a can of monster. I dont know why, red bulls fine but theres something about monster I find dead cringe 😂

Haha I find DJs so sexy omg 😆
Oh no I agree!

However this lad would make mixes in his box room with his single bed and his mum would walk in to turn the boiler on/off, he was 25 😭

I have so many ick first date stories I will just have to drop one every now and then otherwise you’ll be reading this post for years 😂

Was speaking to a fella online for a couple of weeks and he said he’d love to meet up for a drink etc, he lived about an hour away on the train so he would come to me and meet me in town.

I was standing in the train station and he was half an hour late, I felt so embarrassed I was about to leave when he turned up - with his arm in a cast!?

His photos online were at least 5 years out of date, he had a hunchback, he was going bald and he had the SOFTEST voice ever it just made me so uncomfortable. (My boyfriend has the deepest, manliest voice it’s such a turn on 🤣)

His clothes looked older than his photos and he stayed for one drink before me making an excuse to leave and walked him to the train station. When we said our goodbyes he proper puckered his lips up for a snog 😭😭 like his lips were hanging and he pushed his head forward 😭

Few days went by and the messages were starting to dry up (on my part) and he started sending me photos of his skinny body saying that he just did 25 sit ups. I zoomed in on the photo and saw there was some sort of lotion on the sink for baldy men 🌝

He asked me if I would get the train to his for pasta bake and cuddles on the couch and in the end I had to put him out of his misery 😭

Proper smart (like wedding shoes) and jeans, particularly the pointed shiny variety 🤮.
Long nails on men
A prominent bum on man like a shelf just makes me cringe 😬 🤣

Oh God I’ve just thought of another one, I went out with someone who’d sleep completely naked but wear one of those eye masks to block out the light. Combined with the nakedness I just found it really offensive. Ugh, I’m now just picturing him and shuddering.

This has died out a bit (thankfully) but there’s a look my friends and I always called ‘JLS’... deep v-neck and/or jeans tucked into lace-up boots. SO bad and gave me the ick about many an otherwise lovely man in c.2010.
I can literally picture this. Baggy blue jeans or camel coloured chinos tucked into those god awful grey boots, those belts with studs on that said JESUS LOVES YOU, that TopMan T shirt with Rihanna’s face on, rosary beads and some grey beanie hat with a long straightened fringe poking out.
Good day sir x💩🤮

I love this thread 😂
I once got the ick because (on the same date) a guy complimented my sandals and asked me what perfume I was wearing because I smelled nice. I mean, maybe he was just being interested and trying to be nice but what guy asks about perfume?!

I also once went for coffee with a guy who turned up wearing jeans and those horrible dress shoes some people have mentioned 🤮 but also a pure cheap supermarket white shirt and one of those knitted zipper jumpers everyone wore to school in like 2004. He looked like a bed going on a job interview. And when I politely declined a second date he asked for “feedback to help in his future dating endeavours” 😂🤮

Anything feet related 😂
You know I really love you when I’m not repulsed by your feet! But, specifically, seeing men’s bare feet (women’s feet bother me less) OR wearing white socks, unless they are absolutely pristine clean.

Being too keen too soon, I once dated a guy who cried and shredded the three page love letter he’d written me when I said I didn’t think it was working for me. We’d been on two dates, one of which was a very causal double date with out mutual friend who set us up!
Too keen is a killer. I got the ick when I was sat down for a serious chat and told that he wanted to be added to the mortgage on my house. We'd been on three dates!!!

There’s a funny meme that says.. My taste in men is so bad that the walk of shame is when I’m on my way to the date. Sums me up 🤣
