Has anyone ever got the ick about people in general?

Like for instance whenever my ex MIL would talk about money she would smack her lips before each sentence, she was partially deaf too and would poke and prod her ear hole then hold it open with one finger at people speaking, especially if anyone mentioned money. I thought both things were really vulgar and I'd want to secretly slap her.

My sister on occasion, gets random bursts of self grandeur and will sit there blowing smoke up her own a and putting her company down. She very rarely does it and I think it is something to do with her mental health, but when she does it, she appears very weird.

I have a really amazing friend but she picks her own nose, comments on her finds and more often than not eats it. She crooks her leg to the side to fart. She writes herself corny post it notes and sticks them around everywhere. She also will often eat chocolate fudge cake, tearing it apart with her hands, that scene in Matilda would spring to mind and I can barely bring myself to look at her. Plus when she talks I cant help it but it always feels like I'm talking back to the mole on her nose. She is actually who I would concider one of my best friends but honestly I find her really revolting. If she drinks out of my drink for example, I will always let her keep it. duck knows how any of her partners ever cope.

Oh God I’ve just thought of another one, I went out with someone who’d sleep completely naked but wear one of those eye masks to block out the light. Combined with the nakedness I just found it really offensive. Ugh, I’m now just picturing him and shuddering.

My next door neighbours (I did used to bag one of them) and their friends would often spit on their own hands and swear down on their dead relatives. It always knocked me sick.

I once had dealings with a micro pen. I mean, it was literally not just small.. an actual micro pen. He didn’t pre warn me or anything. It was like the 5th date and time to you know... we strip off and I see that... I literally was so shocked I asked him to close the door of my bedroom and when he went to close it, I said, from the other side please.

This was years ago and I admit - not my finest moment - but I blame the shock!
I too have had a dealing with a surprise micro pen. Things were getting heated with this guy after a few dates, I was round his place, i put my hand down there and couldn’t even find anything at first... I was absolutely mortified. He also had a very hairy back and chest which gave me the ick straight away. As you can imagine I swiftly booked a taxi and left.

I’ve had an encounter with a micro pen too. It’s so shocking when it happens but I just felt I had to force myself not to react so he wasn’t scarred for life. It was like having sex with the tactile paving they put at pedestrian crossings to help blind people.

LOL I wonder if this is my ex by any chance... he used to do the exact same thing. I wear a sleeping mask too because I can't sleep unless it's pitch black, but I do wear comfy PJs which I find to be a bit less offensive 😂

Things that have given me the ick with various men over the years (as in things that are irrational yet immediately make you go off someone)

Being called 'hun'
Doing some facebook stalking and finding he 'liked' Teresa May
Having an spotlessly clean car
Dirty finger nails
When he rang his parents and said 'Daddy is Mammy there?'
Finding out he was called Darren
seeing him looking for change in his wallet - just keep it in your pocket

This is going to sound so petty as I wear glasses myself, but men who wear glasses that make their eyes look smaller.
I'm so glad my partner wears contacts 😂

I once was hanging with a guy and noticed he had a bogey dangling out of his nose but at the time I didn't feel comfortable enough to let him know. He went to the toilet at one point and came back and it was still there! Which made me think he didn't wash his hands as surely every person looks in the mirror almost subconsciously when they wash their hands at the sink 🤢 it was noticeable enough. That put me off him!

Just remembered another.

When we were 15 my friend told me she walked home with a guy who really fancied her. He was painfully shy but was so into her that he decided the best way to profess his feelings to her was to sing a Mcfly song to her 😂 (IIRC it was The Heart Never Lies)
She loathed Mcfly 🤣

In response to @ChloChlo about people in general, I used to work with this woman in a Supermarket when I was 18, she's probably in her 60s now, she was nice enough but since I left that job I've never had any further contact with her, other than the fact I still happen to be Facebook friends with her. And yet, she will like almost every single post I put up as if she's my bestie. It's so. Freaking. Weird.
It's also why I won't have my auntie on Facebook, she comments on all of my younger cousins' (as in her grandkids) selfies telling them how beautiful they are and how she is a proud nanny 🤢 don't want that on mine 😂

I once had a guy write a rap song for me, then rapped it over the phone. Last time we ever spoke!

I’m going to be single forever with my list of things that give me the ick. I have a pattern of liking someone, noticing weird traits, getting the ick about it, hating them... goodbye!

- not swinging their arms when they walk
- tiny penises that pop out when you have sex standing up from behind
- not flossing teeth or brushing their tongue
- being a nervous driver like an old person
- being all nervous and meek full stop like I have to be the more assertive one?! No.
- going bald on top but not mentioning it and you can see it when they go down on you
- wearing slippers... worse is when paired with a dressing gown
- voting Tory or not voting at all and having no interest in politics
- Vaping
- Playing games on the computer or the switch... PlayStation and co I don’t mind but there’s something very weird about a man in his thirties playing Tetris all night
- tit tattoos that he THINKS are good. I don’t care if he also knows they’re honking but when he’s cooing over them, stop!
- Hasn’t read a book since school

The not voting is such a turn off and makes me so 😡. I dated a guy who was 36 and had NeVER voted. I’m like what a waste of 18 years!!!

I’ve just thought of another one - those men with sexist opinions ie think the gender pay gap doesn’t exist or uphold super super traditional gender stereotypes 2020 mate get with it 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
(I’ll be single forever as my list is never ending 😂😂😂)

Men just consistently disappoint don’t they. You think “he’s alright” and then he starts talking about how “women have it so easy” or that he avidly listens to/worships Joe Rogan etc...:cautious: Obviously I am a stupid little woman who just doesn’t understand how hard it is for men...

There’s also something incredibly unattractive and ick inducing about men who think they are political boffins. The armchair genius types. Knows everything about politics, has to correct you, opinion on everything political. I like a bloke to take an interest in politics and current issues and to vote (how can you not?) but a healthy interest, you know.

Makes me feel like this

Or just that they know everything about everything in general.. Explaining your job to you etc. Or when they present their opinions as facts. Eurgh.

A major ick for me dating or otherwise is... Why do some people breathe SO loudly? I hate myself for being annoyed by it, but seriously?! Just sat on the couch or something? Why can I hear you exhaling?!

Really intense eye contact when going down on you - like they are in a staring competition and determined to win.

Asking "what are you thinking?" After anything vaguely intimate.

My favourite "baby" cousin got married last year to one giant ICK! Each to their own I know but he has no redeeming qualities -

- He likes comics and gaming.
- He collects figures. (Toy soldiers I call them).
- He is one of those 'woke' types. Infact he is so 'woke' I'm suprised marriage wasn't too traditional and outdated for him.
- He likes to go on protests, usually protesting against issues such as fox hunting but cant go to work.
- He wears bizarre clothes that look like they are too small. Such as short shorts pulled up with braces, thick glasses and trilby. But he is super tall and scrawny. The best way I can describe it, he looks like a public school boy who has grown out of his uniform.
- 100% an armchair politician, often speaking about issues on which he clearly knows nothing or has no real life experience to comment on the issues he decides to be passionate about on any given day.
