I probably have a few but one that springs to mind straight away is when a fully grown man uses the word “poo”. A few examples...saying a football team was “so poo” or when any inconvenience happened they would say “that’s poo”. Just reminded me of when a child goes through that really annoying toilet talk stage where they always say words like that and find it hilarious, except this was a 20 something year old man 🤢😂.

I hate it when they text all the time 'what are you up to? anything exciting?'.

It's 5.30pm on a Monday night in January, I'm cooking chicken nuggets, what on earth do you think I'm doing? abseiling?

This has really tickled me 😂

Mine:

- Wearing a flat cap
- Overly-manicured facial hair
- Carrying a hanky (thankfully think this has died out!)
- Licking their finger before turning newspaper pages
- Similar to OP on repeating a joke but I think even worse... trying to pass off someone else’s joke as their own wit. I went on a date with a guy who had basically memorised a load of Tim Vine one liners and tried to nonchalantly drop them into the conversation. There was no second date.

I remember going on a couple of dates with this guy and for our third date he invited me round to his to watch a film. I drove round but got really lost and couldn’t find his road so he said he would walk out to the main road and meet me. I thought this was really sweet of him plus it had been snowing so it was 1. Freezing and 2. had left everywhere really icey and hard to walk on. So as I’m driving along i see him with a big grin and waving at me. I pull over and he starts running over like an excited dog. He then skids on a patch of ice 🤦🏼‍♀️and starts flailing around trying to get his balance. He didn’t fall but the flailing went on for ages and I just watched in horror from behind my steering wheel. Then he tried to play it off and act like it didn’t happen and got into my car and leant right over to me like this

And I pulled away like ohhh erm.. no? Sorry.

I couldn’t even tell you what film we watched as I was just taken over by the ick all night and absolutely panicked he would try to kiss me again 😩

Saying the word ‘pussy’ in a sexual way 🤢I’m a 30 year old woman. Just no.

Men that think the best way to pick up women is sliding into their DM’s on social media.

Over groomed men, eyebrows and super groomed beards

Money talk, ‘I make this’ ‘this cost this’

I also hate tight men. My ex would bill me for anything. A check out lady in Tesco once told him off for making me buy my own bottle of wine whilst staying at his. ‘Look at her, she’s worth it, buy her the wine!’ He didn’t enjoy that!

Men that flash the cash and tell you the price of everything they have or they are wearing. No thanks. When I was about 20 I had a boyfriend who got a loan and bought a very expensive watch. Massively put me off him. Didn’t own a house but got a loan for a watch! Idiot.
A guy I went on a date with told me the trainers he was wearing cost in £900, I repeat, nine HUNDRED English pounds. I was like, is that supposed to impress me you absolute donkey? The guy can’t even drive and spends all his money on trainers, massive put off

I went on another date recently (apparently I lied when I said I gave up), and I don't think I've ever had so many icks in a row:

Just to clarify, this was a 30 year old man, not a 14 year old as he will appear...

1. Referred to his daughter as "the babe", it made my face flinch every time he said it. He was like "oh the first time I held the babe..." I was like, why not just say baby, or daughter or her name?!
2. Blamed all of his ex girlfriends for the break ups, played the victim in every situation.
3. Sat in silence and then out of nowhere tried to kiss me. I hid my face and told him not to. He then tried again and I told him he was making me uncomfortable, and he said it was my fault 😂 and then sulked and wouldn't talk to me.
4. Bragged about dating foreign girls but when I mentioned about going on a date he called me a slut. First time I thought it was a joke, but this happened every time I mentioned any date from the past.
5. Referred to boobs as "titties" and said he wasn't a "titty man" - I'm pretty sure at that stage I slightly threw up in my mouth.

Now I am definitely done with tinder dates!

I've once gradually developed an ick, rather than immediately:

I met this guy online. We went back to his after a dinner date. I thought we were going to have sex because well, why not? I sat on his bed, waiting for him to come in. He was doing god knows what in the kitchen. Finally he gets to his room, and instead of coming towards me, he went and sat in a chair at the other end of the room. I was embarrassed and tried to play it off like its ok. He sat in that stupid chair the whole time as he tried to make conversation like we're still at dinner, or his grandma's bedroom. He completely missed the cues. Eventually, I just couldn't pretend and made my excuses to leave.

I surprisingly wasn't icked after all of that, so I agreed to another invitation to his place a few days later. We watched a boring movie that he had seen "millions of times" and kept telling me what was about to happen next (still no ick).

When the darn movie finally ended he got up and went to the bathroom. Note he still hasn't touched or kissed me at this point and stopped my several attempts to get frisky. He would stop me and say "watch this part" with his eyes fixed on the tv. I think at this point I just wanted him solely because he rejected me, but the ick must have been setting in because I had already decided I didn't want to see him again.

I could hear him in the bathroom brushing his teeth. Then I smelt a strong cologne seeping from the bathroom doors. I hate sex by numbers, I was fully icked at this point that he was preparing for it rather than just being spontaneous. Next thing, he gets out of the bathroom holding a bag of fake rose petals. He trailed them from my feet to his bedroom, while I sat hopelessly watching him 🤢 It was a one bedroom, so I could see him doing all of this, and lighting candles, and incense (everything he thought sets a romantic scene).

I would have slept with him the first night, and even after shushing me during his movie, but sex by numbers is where I drew the line. I was so repulsed I told him I had to go. He looked shocked, after all his hard work. Poor guy. But sorry, I got the ick.

This is the best thread on Tattle, I've been laughing non-stop, particularly at this one:

there was one guy i dated for a few weeks and i thought i was going crazy (maybe cos i was drunk most dates) but he would stare intensely into my face and his eyes would open wide then go small but looking at me the whole time it was sooo weird and eventually made me just hate being with them
i honestly don't know what the hell it was
Omg I'm howling with laughter because my ex used to do this and I never knew what the fuck it was and I'd never seen any other guy do it!!! Now I know I wasn't going crazy because you confirmed another guy did "the eye thing" to you too 😂😂😂

My "ick" that immediately came to mind for me is from a guy I was speaking to recently, he's dead nice over text and we have a lot of similar interests, but in real life makes my skin crawl. It's a combination of: he's far too polite (I feel like I'm being babied and its creepy) but worst of all is he fills natural silences by just going "hmmmm" like he's thinking about something but then he doesn't say anything after??? Why are you doing that sir?? It's so so weird. Seriously the first time he did it I was like:

What was that? Do I reply to the "hmm"ing sound? What do I do??

Also he had a chode penis which didn't reach the back of my throat and that actually angered me lmao. Like whats even the point

Not me (honestly!) but a friend had been seeing a guy and during sex he said

“Show me those big juicy titties”

She dumped him the next day 🤣

Girls, what are the strangest things that give you the ick about a guy?

(The Ick is a sudden cringe feeling when you have romantic contact with someone: and become almost immediately put off by them)

Here are some of mine. They are so ridiculous I don’t know why they give me the ick.

-Wearing a backpack on both shoulders
-Wearing goggles whilst swimming
-Doing that awkward jog whilst crossing the road when a car stops
-Wearing jewellery
-Telling a joke but nobody heard so they repeat it louder
-Jumping up and down at a concert
-Really taking their time choosing a meal deal at Tesco

Please no harsh comments to me this is just a bit of fun and not intended to cause offence:)
I get the ick at honestly anything but the worst was a guy I actually did quite like and then he caught a cold 🤣 that was it for me. He even text me afterwards saying everything was going so well until I got my cold 🤣

Edited to say that he kept sniffling and sneezing and it riled me out of nowhere

One guy kept calling me "delicious" and it put me right off. Also when men use this emoji 😜 it absolutely makes me cringe

My ex owned a red satin kimono style dressing gown that was just AWFUL. It didn’t help that it was also short, he looked like a fancy chicken when he wore it 🤮

I have to add this because I’ve just discovered it. I recently started speaking to someone on hinge and we really got on well.

Anyway, I was excited, but this man is next level excited? He’s been constantly trying to phone me and see me. He even said he was deleting hinge so he can ‘concentrate on us’. I’ve had to say multiple times that he needs to slow down because he’s putting pressure on this, to which he agreed and said he would try to take it as slow as I needed it to be. Nonetheless, this didn’t stop him a couple days later trying to talk dirty to me and send me the most disgusting dick pics I’ve ever seen? I mean there aren’t many I’d like photos of but Jesus - I pretended I fell asleep after this 😂

Fast forward 4 days later and we’re still talking here and there but I’ve been very much put off meeting him because any excitement I did have has evaporated into thin air. Anyway he’s sent me multiple long messages saying I’ve changed and he just wants to make things work between us... We’ve been speaking for what, a week?

The whole experience has been one big ick and writing this now I’ve just received a text ‘enjoy your Sunday, text me whenever you can’... I sure was enjoying my Sunday until I had flashbacks of your nudes 😣

This might be an unpopular opinion but here goes....

grown men who describe themselves as “gamers” or being into “gaming” and spend all their spare time playing on computer games give me the absolute ick.

The kids in photos is the worst. Closely followed by:

Holding a fish
At the top of a local hill
On a motorbike
Stroking a drugged tiger on holiday

I think you can tell when someone is into porn. I feel sorry for young women out there these days because it’s so readily available and young men will be learning their moves from it. Or worse young women thinking they have to behave like porn actresses in bed.
This is so sadly true. Guys I've slept with in the past think going hard and fast is the be all and end all. I always try and be polite in case they're nervous and rushing because of that, but I actually want to say mate, I'm drier than the Sahara down here, can we go back to some nice slow foreplay?

What's even MORE annoying is when I politely move/adjust their hand or verbally tell them what I like, and they either 1) do it for two seconds then go back to what they were doing wrong or 2) get offended that I'm helping them out. Do you want me to have a good time or not 🙄 Sorry for the rant, this is more The Rage than The Ick for me 😂

(also another Rage is when they don't go down on women because "it's gross" but expect their dick sucked. hmmmm how bout no)

Went to a guys house the other evening for a “Netflix and chill” date, as you do 😉. Went to use his bathroom and there was explosive shit marks all in the toilet bowl, obviously from where he had flushed but hadn’t scrubbed at with the brush! Safe to say my vagina shrivelled up into my body and I’ve been off with him since. 😭😭😂

Years ago a date was picking me up and as I opened the car door I got the biggest waft of fart I have ever smelt. I immediately shut the door and walked away without saying a word.
