I’m Irish as well. I recommend watching “Shiny Happy People”. It will give you insight into how many these cults are. I now live in the US NE where everyone is almost Catholic, Jewish, or Protestant so it was confusing for me at first. The majority of these crazy cults fall under the “Baptist” category I believe? Common in the Deep South but more of a somewhat normal religion like Methodists. Then you have these little “buckets” under this umbrella. And the Mormons and Jehovas Witnesses are different story altogether. It’s insane for anyone not American really. Then there’s these ones Pentecostals who are a bit like the Duggars in that don’t cut their hair but they speak in tongues. I showed my own Mam and she was horrified they live stream their sermons as well and literally scream during them. It’s a wild wild ride, gives you a jump scare. My TikTok algorithm picked them up

I grew up Pentecostal (now a non denomination
Christian) and it was wild, my hair was passed my knees before I gave it the big chop back in 2015. ( 1 Corinthians 11:15, also ties in with the story of Samson, and Mary cleaning Jesus feet with her long hair)

You’re not wrong with the whole screaming in tongues, jumping on chairs and don’t forget the tambourines to spook the devil out of the church cause loud noises scare them you know.

Saw on a post on Jill Rod! She was the one who kept saying her eldest daughter was married to Anna Duggar’s brother instead of Nathan Keller. She’s a huge narcissist. She makes everything about her including needing to be a bridesmaid at her daughter’s wedding. She blocked me on Instagram for no reason. But she’s the one that got dumped from Duggar weddings for sharing her invite on social media with the date, time and venue showing.

If you want to start a thread on her I’d absolutely be down She is the only reason I go onto Reddit, that woman is psychologically fascinating. I know way too much lore on that family.

My god I am speechless here. I am 5 hours behind you all living in states and just logged on here. I can’t make head nor tail of these US and state laws. The Irish in me says not to speculate on victim -I feel that’s culturally British/EU as well. Apologies I have to state the obvious this points that it was likely her family member or someone on that annual FL vacation her family goes on? Ireland is so small that it sadly gets around, the Conor McGregor thing etc, towns and villages are tiny and you hear whispers if someone is charged. UK is big enough to where I feel this is likely honoured unless you’re local etc? Perhaps I’m just stupid here but is she being charged because she likely knew this happened and covered it up? I had no idea there was a Duggar thread here otherwise I would have followed from the start. I feel like a terrible person even asking these morbid questions but something similar happened to me as a child and it wasn’t until the Duggar girls came out on it that I remembered it. ( not looking for sympathy here, never share personal deets on tattle but am completely at peace about it but feel I need to validate my interest in fundies and justice for this kind of carry on for some reason) No one in my circle at home or here would even know who they were or snark about them. It’s great to have an outlet.

Jesus like Anna Duggar was some smug b*tch during the trial. Why didn’t she get charged? They all knew about Josh. Its rumoured Anna’s father knew about what Josh did. Someone here said Kendra’s family did not and wouldn’t let her sibling court a Duggar after that. Justice is finally being served to this group. This is completely justified for Kendra and I had a sick feeling she knew about it. Can they charge Jim Bob and Michelle now for Josh or has that statute expired? Or is this because this happened in FL? Will the FBI go in and raid the family or religion like they did with the FLDS community?

No worries! I don't really like the atmosphere over on DuggarsSnark, it's too silly and celebratory for me considering what's happened. It was the same during the Josh trial. Fair enough if people enjoy it but it's not for me. I haven't checked in a couple of days but I'd guess they're struggling with lack of new information and people don't know how to fill the vacuum. Agreed, they're always breaking their own rules. I don't comment as I'm banned (lol). Not for anything egregious, I absentmindedly joined a different snark subreddit that the DuggarsSnark auto-mod bans, oops. Probably for the best. Agree about JRod's Easter look She never disappoints. I have hope that one or two of the Rod kids eventually get out from her control but it doesn't seem likely. I don't think we'll see much change in the next five years. At least Tim's made some strides but he got lucky with the family he married into and he's still fundie. His kid/s should have a slightly better life however.

I don't know what kind of sentence Joe Duggar will receive. I gather Florida are very strict but on the other hand there's been discussion that they'll negotiate a plea deal. Hopefully it's nice and long. I'm curious what prompted Joe and Kendra's charges in Arkansas. Wtf was going on in their home? Some are saying locks on doors wouldn't be enough for those kind of charges, CPS would monitor and ensure they were removed but no legal proceedings would follow. I wonder if it's 'worse' than that. Kendra seems a lot more brainwashed and assertive than I imagined.

I thought she was the luckiest of them all with her husband, given that she lives far away from them and her husband is not IBLP, or is he? It looks insane to us seeing them release statements because they were victims. I was confused when I’d seen them on US news giving that interview back in the 2010s with all the girls and Jim Bob/Michelle trying to save face. I thought we were behind legally in Ireland then but they would have been arrested and investigated there during that time and now I’d think in most EU countries. I’m still very confused on how this religion has been allowed operate in the US for so long. Has anything new come out?

I saw Jinger & Jeremy's statement & that young woman needs to be looked after. Katie Joy is off her rocker but there is no doubt that she does actually have an in with someone (always used to be Amy) who is close to the Duggars.

That said while her hysteria does read like it could all be 100% true I do take some of what she says with a huge grain of salt. I think it suits her 'in' for KJ/or even the 'in' to add an element of extra to it to keep folks watching this train wreck to stay on her channel. Some of it is certainly true, we just can't pick apart what is and isn't.

They are an absolute wrong'un family for sure from top to bottom on the male side. I just pray that those girls who have been used by the Duggar boys are/will be able to get the help and support they need. I hope they can see Jill and how she has sat in her grief, then her truth and been able to build a life mostly above and around it.

Maybe there were kids locked in the rooms though, hence the false imprisonment charges? Im not sure how she could have been charged with that if tge rooms were empty?

On a lighter note, look at Michelle bailing her out of jail. There’s bullet holes in the car they’re driving JB obviously buys low cash criminal impounds and this is probably from the lot. No that woman is a nut job. I briefly looked into her. Amy used to be close to her apparently but no one would talk to her in Duggar land. Amy was commenting last week and admitted she hasn’t been in contact with any of them yet was commenting as if she was. Contradicting herself like. It looked as if that Katie Joy one got all her info from Reddit and others. She has lawsuits, google her it’s impossible to make head nor tail of all she is involved in honestly her saying “there’s more” “I said there were going to be others see”.
