I am absolutely fascinated by the Duggars and delighted to find this group to discuss with people this side of the pond.

I must say I was both completely shocked to read about Joseph, but also then realised this was the Duggars and clearly some messed up tit happened in that house so also not shocked.

This is fundie behavior at its most basic. These fundamentalist sects are basically just playgrounds for evil adults to abuse children, and keep their mothers enslaved and uneducated. I could have written a big chunk those emails myself, just off the top of my head.

These men have just been used by Satan, and Quiverfull doctrine specifies that Satan cannot influence males directly, it comes through the weakness and sin of the women in their lives.

I watch lots of these documentaries, I'm very fascinated by this sort of thing and have some fundie family members who think I'm the very embodiment of the Jezebel Spirit, and I am absolutely thrilled about that! 😁

Exactly- it's like the poor little lamb has just gone off on a mission trip to preach not been caught for his own actions. He's a danger to all the young grandkids.

No-one seems to care about their four children. Aside a few throwaway sentences not once are they mentioned, by anyone least of all their parents 🥺

I have no doubt that those sweet children are feeling safe and looked after, maybe for the first times in their lives.

The public statements are very different from their private communication with each other. Saying all the right things publically, condemning Joe, thoughts with the child etc but clearly they don't see Joes peadophilc actions as wrong. The men in their religion are more important than women or children and the vulnerable can be abused in any way the men see fit. I'm disgusted.

I think it's clear that what they have posted is just to save face to their followers/public and isn't actually what they think

It is insane to me as well that they can even get these but from my understanding, here’s why:

“President Obama strengthened the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by signing the FOIA Improvement Act of 2016 into law on June 30, 2016. This legislation codified a "presumption of openness" in government, requiring agencies to release information unless disclosure causes foreseeable harm, while also mandating proactive online posting of records.”

Anyone can go to the county police website where someone is arrested and request them for like $15 by filling out a form from what I saw on their website when I posted the livestream link. The phone calls and emails are just strange to be able to see, I understand if you’re a criminal you deserve it but it’s like they have no laws against invasion of privacy. Would these not hurt his case or be unfair legally? That said, if you do the crime I have no sympathy like. I wonder if this is just a Florida state specific thing or did they know they could be obtained when writing them? I didn’t follow Josh case but they’ve all done this before so it’s their second time around

Can't believe that JB is going mad about the freedom of information releases and saying that they have been leaked and he doesn't know who has them...loads of YouTubers have applied for them and journalists etc

Is he? 🤣 I want to know if they knew those calls and emails were being recorded because for me, that will say everything.

Any normal person would be careful in what they say or their lawyer would likely make them aware they were being recorded I think? If they didn’t, then the calls are more truthful and show how sheltered they are.

I am trying not to read much on it because of the misinformation but I did see multiple people saying that Kendras family would take her back and/or they were estranged. (Likely rehashing KJs content so who knows) but I saw on another site that kendras parents have gone and changed their profile pictures to their family group photos from 2021. That would be telling, Kendra was in family photos with them before and after that year as well

Oh my god. Read my above comment. I guess that speculation was actually correct. (I literally just looked for the first time in a a day or so just to add!) What would they need legal fees for? I’m obviously not saying what I think 😭
