I live in a US city and my mind went thereI’m Irish as well. I recommend watching “Shiny Happy People”. It will give you insight into how many these cults are. I now live in the US NE where everyone is almost Catholic, Jewish, or Protestant so it was confusing for me at first. The majority of these crazy cults fall under the “Baptist” category I believe? Common in the Deep South but more of a somewhat normal religion like Methodists. Then you have these little “buckets” under this umbrella. And the Mormons and Jehovas Witnesses are different story altogether. It’s insane for anyone not American really. Then there’s these ones Pentecostals who are a bit like the Duggars in that don’t cut their hair but they speak in tongues. I showed my own Mam and she was horrified
they live stream their sermons as well and literally scream during them. It’s a wild wild ride, gives you a jump scare. I remember watching Jesus camp and they did all that with the kids! Horrified me as a teen.

I had some other Pentecostal women coming up as well and they dress almost maximalist, wild colours etc but they attend these big mega churches.I saw one video that said she hasn't had her children taken by cps as there would be a process that would need to be followed in court and there doesn't appear to have been, not sure how accurate that video wasI hope you’re doing well. I suppose nothing concrete has come out about Kendra yet? People magazine is reporting something insane that she is looking at 8 years in prison. Anyone know how accurate their reporting is? If true, this doesn’t seem like a locked door situation and more of information that she knew and didn’t disclose. I do think it’s true that the children were taken by child protective services but more as protocol and were likely given to her parents or the Duggars while in jail.
I agree, not taking anything I read on any outlet serious unless it’s coming from the authorities but morbid curiosity in me wants to know
