Does anyone know why they placed a screen around Charles when he was anointed, rather than have a golden canopy over him as happened with the late Queen and her father? It looked a bit shit. Like posh version of one of those screens they put up to hide the aftermath of a horrible accident.

I’m thinking the same, it comes across so rude and arrogant. I’m a fan on the monarchy but it’s coming off like it’s such an effort for them to be there. Only Mike and Zara T look genuinely happy and are enjoying themselves.

Louise is technically an adult now though and James isn't far off it. The Wales children are a totally different level. It just seems mean to have them and not the other cousins.

It can't.

He was ready king as soom as the queen mother died ceremonies such as the Accession Council and the coronation in their own ways merely endorse a succession that has already taken place. It is not, necessary for the monarch to be crowned in order to become King: Edward VIII reigned as King without ever being crowned.
