I'm getting zero vibe that those two are anything but friends/co-conspirators. I'll eat my words if I have to eventually, but it seems like they spend a lot of unromantic time together shopping, thinking of filming opportunities, scripting scenes and some performative clips (short skirts! rampant bralessness! naked gardening talk and porn!) especially for tattlers. He's just a replacement for Michael and the exact same rumors surrounded their relationship. Maybe I'm wrong and she's laying the last of her eggs 20 at a time.
That's an interesting point. I've always dressed up for a party if it's a formal kind of do for a Birthday. I might do a T shirt with a jacket, rarely a tie. If it's a BBQ I know it's dress informally.
I was probably of the generation that felt it respectful (mum always did this when we were younger) to suit and boot up. Same for interviews, weddings and funerals.
It is for show but I never questioned why I would do it and not about to change now.
Times change and generations change. It is an interesting point of view though.
I suspect this is a generational thing. My husband will naturally gravitate to a collar, tie and jacket for semi formal occasions and often needs to be directed to something a little less formal. It's probably so that he doesn't need to think too much about what he's wearing as he's really not that interested and has his "go to" outfits. Casual clothes are for family occasions, home and situations that are clearly casual.
For work, I have a "work wardrobe" of a dress or smart trousers and jacket and a medium heel shoe - I always feel that I never know who I am going to meet in the course of my working day and present myself accordingly. (I unexpectedly met the First Minister of Wales on Tuesday.) We now have a "dress down Friday" but if I am honest I think I find it easier to stick to the work side of my wardrobe. Again, I was brought up to have appropriate clothes for work and formal occasions and a casual wardrobe. I like to change into casual clothes when I arrive home. It marks the end of my working day.
That was one of my criticisms of him regarding the children originally being on film.
I find myself conflicted as enjoy his vlogs and I like his can do attitude to the house. He really has rebuilt it.
Personally would prefer more house renovation and less family, but clear to see those boys are mini Dans. It's a personal choice they made to include the children and family life. Much the same way I enjoy Dick and Angel's series its all part and parcel of their life.
On the vlog front his are short, so as his skills progress I expect he spends less time editing. I don't know though as we are only shown a microcosm of their life.
I'm not a fan of children in You Tube vlogs however I feel that the little snatches of Dan's children merely reflect him as a family man and loving dad. He certainly seems to be a hands-on father and I love the way he involves the children when he works. They clearly adore their Daddy. He and Annalise are a hardworking team to are not afraid to get stuck in to achieve their goals and I am sure he sees SJ for what she is. Dan is no-one's fool. Maybe he is bemused by her antics but I can't see that he would be drawn to that kind of woman. I suspect she is confused by with someone who is immune to her "charms".
So the sheep now have a shearing appointment later in the summer but what about worming them and other care they need? Isn't there a friendly farmer who would take them and Chateau tribe just go and lean on a fence and look at them from time to time? All involved would be happy.
Apart from shearing, there are the three Ds of shepherding:
Dagging - cleaning bottoms (sorry...I can't think of a more subtle way of putting it)
Dipping - to keep fleece healthy and free of parasites
Dredging - worming
Goodness knows who, if anybody, oversees this basic animal husbandry.

SJ has always made it very clear that the shatoo is HER home. A commune? No, she's definitely not a team player. She controls what she shares, such as cast off clothing and cheap candy sent by gifters. So far any and all the visual artists that have stayed, have either gifted her their paintings and/or allowed her to capitalize on them. She weasels floral arrangements from MFK for her own use in her vlogs. She makes sure that any gifts that are nice are squirreled away for her own use/pleasure. Not very communal. Spoiled daddy's girls don't make good commune members.
I've started to believe there's a larger plan behind all the expansions. She has started to talk about Venice again and the easiest way she'll get a nest egg for a palazzo is to divide her Shit-O into apartments. Gerry will buy one, maybe Oliver too? Bonne Maman and Marquis' rooms can be separated and sold to friends? She'll always have her apartment, Nati will run the B&B and Lalande will remain as her party palace and Patreon HQ. But she's planning her new, patron funded, independent life in Venice. Now when she's no longer financially dependent of Nick and MPotts, they'll slowly but surely start to vanish from her life.
I was having a snack of my favorite Harvest Snaps when I started watching this but lost my appetite when her father's paintings started taking center stage....some people may like his "art" but to me it's vomit inducing....I swear, I'm definitely NOT a prude, but to think that he was a genius for that tripe!...with all the vajayjays and tits and little peckers and balls or twigs and berries, whatever you want to call them...it's almost like childrens drawings....this woman has a seriously twisted mind if she thinks her father's erotica is appropriate for a daughter to worship.

Whilst I can respect an opinion. I do personally feel it is one of the reasons children shouldn't be shown on Vlogs.
They can't defend themselves as an adult can to criticisms. I don't watch the Vlogs/series or whatever for this. This is where I feel social media/vlogs and reality programmes should draw the line. They need to be pretty robust personalities to be protected from comments however well meaning they are.
I noticed that and thought 'leave him alone, he's having lunch'. Frpm now on I am going to mentally record the number of times she does this. It's really bad of her (as well as other things).
I also noticed Dan stated in a pseudo joking manner that when ever they saw or heard her coming they either pretended to get back to work or hid. Like everyone, Dan has his faults, but he does a good job of dealing with her. Actually, all the work men do or they just don't come back.

I really used to love your vlogs. I was just looking back at them seeing how wonderfully natural things were and flowed. I suppose with success comes expectation and I can really tell how planned and contrived your vlogs have become. Such a same as it was the naturalness that caught people’s attention. ??? Not sure what you mean...anyway, I posted this to make clear why I feel their ‘relationship’ is fake. I think they are colluding together. I feel she wanted this type of situation with Petherick, but he has too many demons and weaknesses, Phillip is more controlled and calculating imo. That while he is very young, he is very clever and is playing the game for his own benefit. That was why I previously said ‘well played, well done’. Their game is working for them.
I originally thought when I saw her vlogs on my feed, that she was doing a parody on France. I thought she was joking with the over exaggerated facial expressions, pompous enunciations and bizarre close ups in bed. The buggy eyes too...all an act...for cold cash.
I don’t hate her, but I do think she is phony as all hell, scamming money hand over fist, is a user, manipulative and calculating, pretends to be innocent and dumb, but is in reality as cunning as Izzy. However, unlike Izzy, she Isn’t as mean and can control her emotions. She can hide her disdain for those around her who are doing her dirty work, but it still seeps through on occasion.
So, I find the situation uncomfortably interesting, supremely disgusting and in time she will get her due Karma. Until then, reading all the great minds that have gathered here is a pastime that has become addicting.
