Same here. Men are generally unenthusiastic to receive gifts unless they really wanted them (like a new vehicle  ).
I also know a few women who are equally unenthused by gifts.
I agree in my family my husband absolutely loves any and all gifts and wants his birthday to last all month. I don't even want to celebrate mine and don't care about gifts.

So apparently, Steve is there to digitize Daddy's kitchen drawings for transfer onto tile. Some screen caps from Patreon October Q&A Part 2, where we see how this project is about SJ trying to honor her father and heal from his death. What makes it disturbing, in the context of all of the other cartoon porn he left behind, is that the frolicking naked people he drew for the kitchen backsplash scene include her, his daughter, her lovers, and even Cupid on horseback, whom we catch a glimpse of in the vlog. By drawing his daughter naked, he sexualizes her. Possibly, he did so in his paintings, as well. How naked everybody is on the kitchen tiles remains to be seen and maybe it's Steve's job to put some clothes on them.

These Cadeaux shows are nothing less than SJ trying to live out her princess dreams, where people from all over the world lavish her with gifts, pay homage to her, and write well wishes, while her subjects (superfans and flying monkeys) watch in awe. After all, she deserves them all because she lives in a castle.

I can imagine how she sends out memos for when they need to film for Cadeaux.

Re: Filming for Cadeaux GAG

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

We are filming for Cadeaux on April 24 (Sunday) at 5:00PM in the Grand Salon.

Dress code for each will be as follows:
Selmar, dress up like the Mad Hatter.
Philip, wear something respectable (not your granny's jacket, please.)
Steve, wear something that makes you look slimmer.
Natti, wear something red and your old new pair of left-foot boots. Do not outshine me! I repeat, do not ever outshine me.

Sarah won't be at the filming but she will prepare the food. I want wine, tea, and anything PP is allergic to.
Bravo!

I think this IG link to Anna and Phil's home highlights the difference from Honfleur to Lalande. Who in their. right mind would choose the chaos and filth of HMW before the calm of this elegant location? The Fleuries have scored a point or two over you here, Steph.

I'm now watching the gift grab vlog...soooooo many things to comment on, some already commented on here....but I just watched them opening the METAL DETECTOR!!!...Selmar says "We can now go onto the lake..." and something about the hole under the downstairs loo....uhm...do they not SELL metal detectors in France???....They could have gone onto the lake bed at any time if they'd bought one....amazing...and not in a GOOD way!
The use of metal detector is strictly regulated in France. This is to protect any archeological and historical findings/item before people destroy the surrounding of their findings.

Before using a metal detector to find historical and archeological objects (in the grounds of a chateau for example), you must obtain the authorisation from your Prefecture (which represents the French State in Regions - above the Mairie).

I know that Basmaignée seems to ignore the French law when they use their metal detector. But maybe, they don't as they don't say everything and Gwendoline must know this law.

Can we bet that at Lalande, they know absolutely nothing about this law and will use their metal detector as they want ? After all, we already know that they respect the French law in any circumstances 😂

Oh how lovely! I could consider passing the hat for that one!
If SJ had had more taste and planned things properly, she could have achieved something similar with all her financial resources if only she had used a bit of forethought and intelligence. If so, she would have had the foundation for a very successful business. Surely Nic and MP would have preferred something like that. Instead, she has created her own personal copy of a brocante/Emmaus dumping ground!

I've just read 15 pages to catch up!
My brain is melting. Bunch of nutters. You're so daft and cheeky and funny.
I've liked, loved, scrolled and rolled my eyes.
Agree that Sarah has bitten off sooo much more than she can chew. Her cute, vague and random "stalking" is no excuse for not being prepared. If you want to make it doing costuming, that dress was not the way to launch your budding French business. The market for home-sewn stuff is swamped after so many lockdowns. Everybody is doing it. Even me!

To follow on from the previous chat about residency, there is no way Steve and Sarah will even be remotely considered for a Carte de Sejour if they were not officially, permanently resident in France before the 31st December 2020. Ye Olden Days British grandparents or birthplace don't fit into the equation.
Steve, if you're reading, go look up this website. It's got the real deal bottom line info for anyone looking to apply for a Withdrawal Agreement Residence Permit. All Pethericks and Ryan type YouTubers will find this a good read too: https://www.remaininfrance.fr/waresidencypermits

On that note, goodnight, and I promise to never skive off 24 hours of Tattle again. It's taken me all evening to catch up!
For a French Carte de Sejour (Residency card), Ryan, Billy and the parents should be OK.

Sadie I don't know (not sure if she's been living and working in France for more than 3 years before December 2020).But her daughter must attend a French school I suppose and lives in France.

But for Michael, It would be very hard to prove that he's been working in France continuously during the past 3 years. Or to prove that he has a job (a proper job - not sure that a vlog every 2 months is a job for the French administration). Obviously, he's not a UK pensioner...😅

One of the conditions is to be a member of the family who stays legally in France. The definition of "member of the family" is : dependent child, dependent parents, disabled sibling etc). Source : French government website).

Not sure this is his case... ?

Omg this morning i had a look..and now .. the previous thread is closed..and we have a new one..i connot keep up....Btw i saw Sadies vlog last night..omg how is it possible to put your mother on a vlog in such an unflattering pose.... :p ..and somehow i feel for Pa..always busy....what must he think about his children...
I thought, perhaps, that it was her (Ma P.’s) way of signaling to everyone how she feels. Would she really allow Sadie to film her in that position unless she had a hidden message behind it? Pardon the pun 😊

She talks about drawings of naked people gardening. Isabelle?! Can you imagine that on a kitchen tile behind the stove? I actually don’t care, as much as I’ve drawn attention to the subject. What I find sad and fascinating is how she is determined to ignore the inappropriateness of the ‘art’ and sell a false idea of her father and of herself. As others have said, she is a hustler. That’s what made it all the more funny when she, the scammer, was scammed by the desk seller, or should I say, she had Philip scammed!

@Green Fairy " Just a thought. Could the other people with the same name possibly be SJ's aunt who if I remember correctly is quite well off. SJ visited her when she went home. Could they possibly have been partners in the business? Just an idea."

Looks like they were business partners as well as living together 'nursing manager'

AMAURY ALASTAIR RICHMOND - does not have a business website

I think Sara and Steve look like brother and sister. I would love to understand their business plan. Perhaps they inherited money or sold all their assets. I just don't get how you make money from making your interpretation of historical dress. Is this a new market I shoukd get into early like bitcoin?
Why don't they have a metal container built to store all the boxes. Openly discussing their mouse plague cannot be good. About 50 years ago there was a mouse plague in country Victoria (Australia). Horrendous footage of thousands of mice starving and swarming. Commentary included parents saying hungry mice nibbled at the corners of children's mouths in their sleep. Just leave that image with you.
I've been binging The Positano Diaries mentioned by others previously. Totally different vibe.
