It's not a bad thing to spot f'c's in that business. Let's face it The Trotter's are all over any comments like the cupid stunts they are. They can handle themselves and if I was in D&A's shoes I have no doubt I too would have told the crew to do one.
I wonder why the Trotter's are defending them when it was the production company that probably dropped them. Given the way they conduct themselves as workshy, racists, prostitute baiting, Queer shaming family then that would be a well used phrase.

I may be missing something here - what is so difficult re the tiles? Angel has a scanner and digital printer (which does tiles) - she printed her own tiles in one of the ETC episodes. Scan available drawings, take the actual measurements of the stove area, mock up a piece of chipboard then start mock up by bluetacking images with a strip representing the grouting (they haven't thoughtvof tgat yet). As it will be vertical it can be view tested in actual kitchen. Do tests of the colouring then identify compisition gaps to be created by Steve. Some of these composition gaps would be digital copies or adaptions of other tiles. The technology available today makes this very doable. I think SJ needs a digital media art specialist as well as a Steve.

On a entirely different note. I wonder if Gwen has vetoed what Billy is doing. No new videos from The Pethericks channel. I wouldn't think Billy would be the type to go on paternity leave...

His game plan might be to drop loads of vids in conjunction with CDIY starting on TV. They knew the complaint about D&A happened last year and they knew when it was going to hit the papers. They started their chateau rescue filming last summer and MOLD put the video out just before the news article. Two months is enough time for him to get some traction before the papers printed.

Gerry may not need a DNA test! I suspect that if this is the case, he, Mini Apron and Fanny all know! From the photographs we have seen, Derek wasn't very tall.

I think the issue is not whether you like Derek's art. I think it's hideous to be honest. It's the fact that he chose to depict his daughter and his wife in lewd naked poses. Hardy a pic that doesn't have boobs or a vagina and very recognisable faces. Now his daughter is celebrating this by covering her walls with these paintings, and is converting them into tiles for her kitchen. It's not prudery, it's just sort of repellant.

I don't think anyone here is a prude, art is subjective and open to interpretation as is literature. It's more about the fact that other people are paying to have that tripe put on walls and want a piece of the Chateau by also buying copies??!! It must be like buying those souvenirs when on holiday and coming across them years later and wondering WTF did I buy that!

He wasn't a recognised artist as such prior to the CD vlogs. He painted a few signs.
Now if you compare to other artists who liked to paint their daughters nude such as Arthur Gill.

I am not saying Derek was like Arthur Gill in his personal tastes (that is a different argument) it does however open up uncomfortable discussions. It's been discussed before so just giving my tuppence worth. I think she is an idiot and Steve will get the wrong kind of traction with all of this. The pair of them are inadequate coat tail hangers anyway.

I'm starting to think she might be a covert narc (?) getting her fix from people feeling sorry for her and encouraging her to overcome her struggles. Nothing's her fault, the world is against her, it's not that her floristry is crap, but people are stupid and don't recognize her genius. Nope not a prude. As a matter of fact I have multiple paintings of T and A all over my house. My favorite being a set of two 48 x 60 inch paintings one is neck to crotch and the other neck to cheeks. Kind of like a recto verso sorta thang...

My issue with the tiles is they are flat out ugly and do not belong in a chateau kitchen. She keeps going on and on and on and on about saving the chateau, it is historically significant, and preserving it blah blah blah... So, my opinion, keep the integrity of a chateau and use classy, sophisticated, historically appropriate finishes.
Now if she is going for the look of the illuminated manuscripts with the grotesques and marginalia, than yeah she nailed it...
Chateau is to craptastic tiles as illuminated manuscript is to marginalia

The only other thing I can liken it to is putting nursery school drawings on the subzero...

While I'm not a fan of daddy's art, I don't see what all the fuss about naked cartoon people is about. It's not porn! I think some people are being prudish and reading way too much into this.

You might be missing the point. First of all, we don't know that some of the naked cartoon pictures aren't porn because SJ has only described them to us. We do know that Jarvis made paintings of naked cartoon characters having sex, so that's our context. The point is that it sounds like her father drew naked pictures of her and two of her lovers, based on her own words and description, possibly her mother as well, to be transferred onto tiles for the kitchen wall. If people object to that idea, it's not because they're prudish, it's because they have a sense of decency and appropriateness. It's also a potential red flag for people who don't think it's OK for fathers to draw naked pictures of their daughters, because they value healthy relationships.
