I watched MPeth's garden Vlog. Well, now that is a garden. Manageable and enjoyable tout suite. I'd have a glass of rosé or cup of tea outside enjoying that. Not the mudfield eyeing a derelict chapel and falling Chateau facade. With our without frogs.

What has changed is her ability to pull in a crowd of like-minded hedonists. People move on, have families and careers, even grow up and see the light, but in her case the clock has stopped in that era of partying. The result is a pathetic 50 years old trying to still to be in that time. That's why she will put up with PhiPhi as her escort because he is way younger and she feels that his youth will make her seem youthful. But just look at her physically, she has aged beyond her years in a short amount of time. Because of her vacuous life she is empty and a childish, stupid woman in mid-age is not attractive. No, I stopped drinking all together. I couldn't be bothered anymore. Pre gluten I never had a problem with wine. And if I choose to break my gluten diet (and meet the horrible aftermath) it will be for pie/cake . I do it once a year, and pre arrange my work schedule accordingly

Luckily I have no allergies but my eldest daughter has to have a gluten free diet so it is a pleasure to go there knowing that we don’t have to worry about what to order.

That’s kind of what PhiPhi has said. He’s never confirmed his orientation (I don’t believe) but he portrays himself as a straight man who “embraces his feminine side.” Trying to be like Harry Styles but definitely nowhere near that. Selmar said PhiPhi is bisexual and that he would sleep with anyone every day. PhiPhi’s just a strange little person who probably thinks his affectations and quirkiness make him endearing or interesting. They don’t. It’s annoying.

The Christie’s debacle was priceless. Not in a good way. It, was, if nothing else, a master class in ineptitude, incompetence and ignorance. SJ hadn’t the faintest idea how stage a vignette - creating the illusion of seeing a snapshot of a part room. She and the prancing twerp were completely out of their depth. It was hilarious and cringeworthy in equal measure, seeing those two floundering. It was bewildering how she got the gig - lots of tattle speculation and whispers that in some way she paid her way in. Comedy gold or a really bad, third rate horror film. Take your pick!

The best put together of the four vignettes (which is not saying a lot) was the one done after SJ and her wingman fled left NY (Versailles beckoned). They might not have run out of time if she’d spent less time faffing around in her floaty negligée. Imagine bagging this one off opportunity and managing your time so badly, and not taking it seriously enough, that you scuttle away before completing what you’d undertaken.

Some idiot viewers, of course, thought what SJ did achieve was a triumph, gushing about her “talent”. More fool them. And more fool the Christie’s specialist -the silver woman, whose name I forget - and her sidekick for overdosing on Stephanie’s superficial charms which masked total unsuitability for the task.

i guess i misunderstood the task. i thought her job was to put as much as was aestheticaly possible of christie's' stuff in an interior. kill me, but i think one of the rooms she "made" was half decent (with pink toile wallpaper), the others almost made me blind because too much of everything and clashing of colours..

I do think that some kind of "tampering" has been going on with Phyll-arse's barnet. The perma-beanie situation points to some kind of treatment. And the screen grabs that have been posted here show something much more than spray-on hair. Mind you, it's still a fucked up bleeping mess. Looks like a rats nest with the rats still in residence, the tails hanging down his back. Ffs fanny kick him into touch. A loser and a waster.

It's going to be breathtaking when in full bloom, and he loved creating it and choosing the plants and where to put them. A true gardener
I do worry though whether that piece of plastic he put under the soil will prevent the plants putting their roots deep enough. It wasnt needed and I'd hate him to be saddened if a lot of the plants don't survive.

I watched last night's episode of "Sarah Beenys new life in the country" on Channel 4 with eyes opened wide after we have learnt their methods on Chateau DIY etc programmes (will xx be ready for yy).
The cutting is interesting as on some shots they show a concrete pad and in others a freestanding glasshouse.
Last night was the family tv room/Sarah's office and the chinoiserie wallpaper that was a full mural made to fit the room measurements, so drops were individual and important to not mess up. The tv show only showed them starting the first piece and then the finished version (I guess a professional really did the job). Similarly the built in unit to be painted black with gold Japanese style decoration. They only showed her husband Graham with a roller on an already painted unit. He is an artist so I will credit him with doing the gold. The curtains that they hung after dying then in nettles were not run up on a quiet afternoon by Sarah - they were hand sewn pinch pleat tops, they did complete the installation with tassle tie backs. I did spot her son must have been taking h&s tips from Dan as he stood on the back side of the stepladder.
