I'm in NE Florida too! I've only lived here for 3 years, so this will be my first ever hurricane/tropical storm. I don't really know what to expect 😬
Hi @Spoilt Victorian Child! I’ve lived in Duval County my whole life. We are fortunate in that we indent and seem to miss many direct impacts. If this storm acts like Irma from 2017, we should get wind—there will be some big gusts, but not sustained damaging wind—and lots of rain. The biggest problem will be flooding at the beaches and around the St John’s River. It can be bad, but very localized. Of course nothing is certain, but we’ve been pretty lucky so far.

I think the Action News Jax weather team led by Mike Buresh is the best to follow. He is straightforward and really walks you through what to expect.

Oh I don’t know, I get more satisfaction watching the washing go round than I do watching chateau diaries these days. Can I ask why you hate yours.
1. my laundry room is small and the washer door cannot fully open making it a PITA to load/unload
2. it makes my clothes smell swampy unless I remove them immediately after the wash cycle ends and put them in the dryer.

I have that problem with the door in the winter when I have clothes airers in my utility room. I never have the swampy smell at all. I often put my washing on late in the evening and forget it until next morning but it never smells. Maybe some will give you a tip on how to avoid this.

I don't think any of the people that stayed realize that they may be without power and water for months. They have 100 portable cells towers but phones don't work without charging. No water to wash up, flush toilets, no cooking keeping food cold. All the things we take for granted....after Hurricane Michael in Panama City this was the case
Went through Hugo in 1989. It was awful.

@Darling Life, the construction on my house is going very slowly. Right now the outside of the front of my house looks like my meth lab exploded. There is so much construction debris. Under normal circumstances it is hard to live with, but I was very worried about this hurricane turning it all into little neighborhood missiles before it’s track was figured out. Luckily, I’m probably in one of the best spots in Florida right now. I feel so bad for everyone on the SW coast and even central Florida. It’s a terrible, random roll of the dice and there’s nothing you can do about it.

I hope things are going smoothly for you getting your house put back together.❤
I'll be relieved for you when this comes to an end but it looks like it's going to be hours before that happens. As for MK, I have no idea what sort of damage we've sustained. Everyone with half a brain left the island. You know when you have a place sandwiched between two bodies of water like the intracoastal waterway (Lemon Bay) in my backyard and the Gulf of Mexico 931 steps from the front door, there's every chance your pile will wind up floating away one day. This place has been in the family for 40 years; we've had a great run of luck. It's almost as though the Seminoles knew what they were doing when they settled my little fishing village way back when.

I'll be thinking of you til this is done.

OH! I watched Death Comes to LaLande. Do they think they're living an Austenesque spin-off? I was too angry to speak about it though I did log in to see what you guys were saying about it all. Her thumbnail alone was enough to send me twirling. How dare she exploit Ian's death for clicks. Good gad, the woman is despicable. Absolutely revolting display. I'm just not in the right headspace for her right now.

You can run a disinfectant made for washing machines on a hot wash then always prop your door open to let it air dry. Top loaders don’t smell because the lid is left up. Also lint can get in the gasket and can create that smell. You can wipe out the gasket with water with a little bit of chlorine not enough to dry out the gasket just kill the mild.

Last week, the harlot used Patreon to upload the Wed. night video. We had a good recap, but could some tec savvy tattler figure out how to post it here? The recap was perfect but finding a way to outsmart Fanny again? It will drive her crazy.
Could one of you patrons out there try right-clicking directly on last week's video and see if a menu appears that allows you to copy the URL? This is what pops up when you right-click on a Youtube video. Maybe Patreon has a similar feature? 🤞

Perhaps add a cup of white vinegar to the wash cycle. It can help kill the bacteria causing the swampy smell, and it cleans and disinfects the machine at the same time.

Gerry. Who else! He drives the getaway taxi.
Adding a thought to @Jules plot twist...
The body in the ex lake swamp turns out to be Philip in blond wig and drag.

(scribbles furiously).

Well, I am still flummoxed as to how to share the Patreon video so I’ll provide a filthy little recap!

First, here’s her summary message with the video:

“ Hello lovely patrons of Lalande!
I want to remind you all that this week's Patreon video will be on Friday instead of today, as on Friday I'll be able to reveal a secret project that we've been working on for tv. It's only a small project but it's one that I'm very, very happy with, and I can't wait to share it with you all.
I wanted you to be the first to see it, but as I'll be reusing a lot of the footage from this your Patreon reveal in the public reveal on The Chateau Diaries on Sunday, I thought I'd also give you a little extra video tonight, with a sneak peek into the planning taking place in the grand salon this week. Amaury has (once again!) cleared the room, and has moved all of the wood in to start the stud work. He and Philip have been putting the last touches to the plans before a single piece of wood gets screwed into place!
Also, in tonight's little extra video, you'll get to meet Angela, our new volunteer, for the first time. She'll be introduced in tomorrow night's Chateau Diaries.”

Phiphi was wearing his best flared mommy pants and was making suggestions as to where the panels should go. Anne Marie admitted to a sabbatical since the Marquis suite finished, and moaned about all the studwork and insulating needed. It was about eight minutes long and poorly cut together. She showed a meal from the new volunteer Angela.

That’s it. Bor-ing. There you go you filthy animals. You all owe me five bucks.

PSS: Prayers for all our Florida Tartletts. I’m seeing footage that is chilling. Please be safe and well.

Manly! I love Manly, enjoy your holiday and the Wedding. The Manly Ferry is a fun ride too. If the sea is rough stay inside though! I have been on the Ferry and the Captain is telling everyone to get inside and some idiot wants a Titanic moment!
For sure, and there used to be a little beach/bay to the left of where the ferry reaches Manly where manly men in skimpy cosis (budgie smugglers/swimmers/trunks?) would practice rowing 😉 Then the Corso for superb fish and chips and Häagen-Daz. That’s a great day out

@Beachgirl

When she joked about him being Rapunzel I thought "blimey not much of a fairy tale if the prince fell to his death because Rapunzel's hair was falling out." He is also so pretentious having to start reciting Romeo and Juliet-not impressive I can still remember chunks of Macbeth and Hamlet from school.
Same. Shakespeare’s tragedies, especially the soliloquies are the best. I often use lines from those

A tiny quote from my friends at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice:
Hopelessness is the enemy of justice.
As is, ignorance 👍

Hello! First post here!

I found all you tattlers by googling Michael P because he had "gone missing" after not having any videos for months. During the pandemic, I had binge watched Billy's YT channel, then Michael's YT channel, and then I found all of you wonderful people! I love your thoughts and discussions on all of the chateau renovators - you are SO insightful and have really opened my eyes to SO many things!

I am disappointed with the return of Ryan. When I was first introduced to him through one of Billy's videos, I thought, what an interesting character. Then it just didn't stop! I thought maybe he had been dropped on his head as an infant, or the Hoover Man had stopped by and sucked everything out through his ears. Anyway, I find him very annoying and I really don't know how Billy can stand it - but help is help, I guess...

Again, loving your discussions about Stephanie and the others. I look forward to reading more of your wonderful thoughts!

This new ‘reveal’ is going to be the Grand Salon toilet wallpapered with Daddy’s porny wrapping paper isn’t it? Filmed & already revealed by a wandering BnB guest just recently.

Great title for a murder mystery though.

The haughty and greedy chatelaine of a half derelict French chateau is found dead, lying in a murky swamp, the sad remnants of the once vibrant lake she'd stupidly drained - her head stoved in. Was it an accident or murder? If murder, who is the culprit? A rival chateau who'd kill to be rid of the competition? Her co-owners who just want the witch gone so they can sell up and get the hell out! Is the murderer her gay Dutch toy boyfriend, more than half her age, who secretly coverts her riches, dress-up box and Givenchy secrétaire? His oily secret lover, sick of biding his time in Spain? Her Argentinian B&B manager who's bullying has led the chatelaine to threaten to terminate her working contract? The manager's lover, the carpenter and chatelaine's cousin who wants the chateau as his own and who will do anything for his Argentinian girlfriend? Was it the witch of a mother who, finally tiring of her sick daughter's machinations, decided enough was enough? The French Water Police who were blamed for her stupidity? A former volunteer who was starved into bedding the chatelaine? Was it the "horse-faced" former cook and faux florist? Who, after months away from the chateau has finally woken up to the nausiating love bombing of a false 'friend?' Was it the desperate American poster salesman superfan who finds himself ignored, even when he visits? The lesbian Bollinger loving friend who has, once again been ejected from the bedroom for not supplying a truck load of Champagne? The creepy chandelier supplier who hasn't been paid? Was it the tubby jolly English mate who, beer in hand, who has finally found out what's been said behind her back all this time? Was it the Dutch handyman, a former employee with a short fuse who's silly fae like girlfriend was mercilessly bullied by the manager? Could it have been the tree surgeon - is he a former jilted lover or just a bloke who liked to climb trees as a child and who never grew out of it. Perhaps it was the former gardener who, after securing the chatelaine's funding to buy his own chateau ruin, has had that funding withdrawn? Is the murderer the chateau insider who sought to keep her identity secret? Was it the token refugee who has discovered the French government subsidy, paid to the chatelaine in order to help the refugee survive, was spent on a trip to Venice? Maybe it was the current gardener who was laughed at when she complained about the destruction the peacocks wrought in the walled garden. Was it the cook? The cook who, oh no, finally snapped after finding yet another wet freaking sponge in the sink!

Everyone has a motive yet everyone has an alibi. The murderer could have been anyone - superfans who've woken up to the grift and want their money back, guests who have baulked at the cost of the meals and cheap boxed wine, the disgusting state of the dump and the lack of any progress on the restorations they've paid for, or the local mayor who's tired of deflecting complaints from local residents. Yes the murderer could have been anyone - including members of a certain online chat group who, sick of the wonton waste, lies and money grubbing, seek justice and recompense for all the tit everyone has had to put up with.

Bloody excellent (emphasis on “bloody.” I’d wager your book would be a huge hit. And put Pott’s ex wife’s crap to shame
