I only got through half of it before I had to make some dinner. I think this was the first "new" vlog she's had in awhile (I think the past several weeks it's just been recipe retreads or something) and I wondered what was going on....now I see! I agree with you in that she's a pretty positive person. My dishwasher went up and I lost my head for about 1/2 an hour, trying to figure out how I was going to cope! Her bathroom!! OMG!

By the way - can't remember who said this, but they were right. It is very calming to hand wash dishes! I also find that I am very judicious in what I use to prepare meals, since the more I use, the more I have to clean up versus popping it in the dishwasher. I'm finding that I am enjoying cleaning up manually! If I was still working, though, I think I would feel quite differently.
By the same token, it must be very calming to do the ironing, or the dusting, or the vacuuming... and it just isn't. Really, it isn't. I'd get more satisfaction in paying someone else to do it. It must all come down to philosophy.

If you believe good karma comes from paying taxes then I will gladly send you my tax bill. I'll even overnight it to you free of charge! Plus you have my solemn promise that I will vote for you should you choose to run for president😀 it's a win win
my taxes go for all kind of things that i would probably never use (kindergardens, infrastructure in some municipality on the other side of the country) but i realy don't mind, because people who will use these things are paying for my salary.

I'm not arguing against paying taxes, my concern is how and who decides that we taxpayers are going to shoulder yet more debt. Right now in the US approx 100 people million have medical debt whereas only 43 million have student debt, the need seems greater to help those with medical debt.
This last July I had surgery for skin cancer, I have insurance but still received a hefty bill. I'm able to handle my debt but for others making half of my wage it would have a devasting effect on their lives.

I don’t think the completion of Stephanie’s pergola should be a reflection on Dan. We don’t know the ins and outs. Thinks under his control at his own house we can hold him accountable for.
Isn't he waiting for the return of Davy and the purch

Regarding the pergola, I think DTM is waiting for the return of Davy and the purchase of espalier trees before he can complete the pergola. There was mention of planting fruiting espalier trees directly in front of each of the pergola uprights, pear and apple, I think. I don't really see why the tree planting would effect finishing the project. Could it be that the trees are not currently available or there's a seasonal window for these this type of planting? No idea and it shouldn't effect the design of the structure. But, I believe that's what's happening, or not happening with the pergola. Remember too it was left to Ombeline to re-tie the grape vines to the wall after lazy Dan and lazy SteFanny just left them to rot on the ground. To me it just appears that no-one, not even the owner's of the HMN are dedicated to seeing the pergola project finished. If I was paying a gardener/handyman to do the job, there'd be a definite 'get those grapes back up on the wall immediately after you finish the entire pergola construction' or I'd be out there doing it myself. But they are all so wishy-washy about finishing any project.

i watched couple of videos of some chinese cook and finished with loooong list of chinese dramas i MUST watch before i die. but korean cooking shows are more interesting at the moment. thank you, yt alghoritm!
Utterly and completely off topic, for which I apologise but I'm deep into historical Chinese drama too. Looking for recommendations, so if you're happy to share a list (with even more apologies for the total derail) I'd be very grateful. I'm not into Chinese fantasy series, just historical drama. I'm currently watching "The Longest Day in Chang'an" for the 100th time because it's that good! Not just good, but the most sublimely astonishingly remarkable series I've ever seen. I also watch Taiga drama from Japan.

Because there’s always “tamarra” to them. You know, I went to school with a Tamera…I wonder if they’re related?😎

Wow. Dan has drank the kool-aid. What is the point of a ginormous money pit when he is a single man with 2 small kids living with their mum in a (somewhat) dump? Why not prioritise having your kids live comfortably in a decent place first? Do the same for yourself.
He came to France and barely had enough means to buy a 20K ruin with no electricity or running water - it's not like he won the lotto in the last couple of years, he doesn't have the plethora of assets and safety cushions Fanny has, so what is thinking?!

I know it makes more “interesting content” but if you have 14 guests for dinner you don’t just pop to the supermarket on the day and make up the menu on the spot? 🤔
Yes queeeeen!!!

Entree: prawn cocktail (10 minute prep)
Chicken breast + veggies (prep 30 min)
Dessert: pie, fig and the medieval fruit dessert (no prep time)

Looking at the menu: don't you think it was a very light dinner? I would have gone hungry after 2 hours. Half a chicken breast, small sized potato, carrots. That's definately not worth 50 euro nor is it filling!

I would love to see a Greek taverna party where they smash the ugly phillipa plates while dancing the Sirtaki!

I think he shouldn't go down the classical patreon path. Also no one needs another channel where we watch paint dry. He should build a website, where he has different tiers of subscription to ' save up' and e.g. stay at the chateau/ buy ticket for an event on his grounds etc etc. So his 'patreons' actually feel like they buy a product not content. People who travel to south Europe passing his Chateau might consider staying there for a day or two thus becoming his patreon.

Unless you guys think Dan is stashing half a million somewhere right now, there is no way you will see any B&B, "patreons staying over" or anything of the sort. That place doesn't have a roof. There are trees growing inside. It needs a massive amount of specialised work and unless he's drawing on some substantial fund at the moment (my guess is he doesn't) there can't be any progress. He can't start by spending a few coins here, a few coins there, the first phase of required works will cost. A lot.

Remember, Fanny's shitoo had a roof, and one in good condition at that (according to her) and (somewhat) habitable rooms but she still spent 300K on that phase of works. Do you think Dan has 300K, a flat in London or an early inheritance from Daddy right now?

Also, what can be done in the winter since there is no 'inside'? I guess he could design an atrium or courtyard since there are trees in place already.

That dessert looked dry AF! 😱
The local restaurant would have had better portions for half the price!

Nothing. The first phase of works required is massive and chances are as he goes on he will discover more massive problems which weren't apparent at first i.e foundations or structural issue with the bit of structure left due to roots of the trees that have grown in all places they shouldn't have grown in. Lets say he's lucky and the foundations are fine, he has to get rid of all of the vegetation inside and around the shitoo asap, he has to put a roof on the place if the current walls can support it, looking at them, they can't, so they will need work first, then windows and doors. He will have to apply and wait for permits for all of these works and be able to spend substantial chunks of money to move forward.

And all of this work is purely to make the place wind and watertight. Inside it would still be a shell, no plumbing, no electrics.
The more time passes that the building is not W&W the more it deteriorates and is beyond saving.

It' s official, SJ can't even be arsed to put out new posts on FB or IG. This vlog about the pantry has to be at least 8 months old and is one of at least a dozen in a row to date she's posted. Then we get the fridge & freezer delivery too.
Maybe I'm missing a marketing tool or something, but re-hashing old vlogs smacks desperation to me. 🤷‍♀️
I mean, can anyone be arsed with Facebook these days? Last time i went on it was just grannies posting lost dogs from Canada 'shared in Liverpool,UK' or peoples status' checking themselves in at A&E for the 'U OK Hun?' Comments.

On dans, latest botchit adventure...Let's face it Dan rolls his eyes at everything chateau-verse related, so I just can't see him researching and faithfully restoring a building. His style is brico, ikea and amazon prime. He always seems to dispise everything about chateau life.

Instead, I can picture Dan turning the ruins into a paint gun centre rather than becoming a chateau restorer. God just imagine, he'd be in his annoying boytoy mode.
