Yes, I understand how brutal food poisoning is, so I did assume it wouldn't be that, but did wonder, as you say, I could have given myself a bug of some sort.
I think it’s probably just your body struggling to digest it because it wasn’t cooked properly. This happened to me once when I accidentally undercooked dry beans. I felt sick and got really exhausted. Second night same thing. Googled it and realised that it was undercooked beans that I hadn’t soaked either

You probably can cook them frozen just make sure they are cooked for longer to make up for it and throughout

I’m dyslexic and generally I cope quite well, however I’ve got to order some pretty expensive signs at work. I made a mistake in the mock ups which is fine but I am conscious that I need to get this right. Is it unprofessional to send them to my customer and say, please could you double check these as I’m dyslexic. I’m the only one in the office next week so I have no one to ask there.

Go, do I feel you on this one. Story of my life - I find it hard to justify the time & expense of haircuts, certainly colours, and other stuff like exercise classes and new clothes, just for myself. Like you, I think about what else I could do with the money, and I'd hate it if at the end of the month my family were skint and I'd just got my hair did-I'd feel like such a dick.
That said, not feeling like yourself isn't really worth holding back for, even if you do wfh. As others have said it might be one of your first steps to beginning to overcome your recent set-backs and barriers. You could ask your colourist for advice on a low-maintenance colour, something that you could enjoy whilst knowing that you've not got to have super regular visits to keep it looking OK.
100% understand where you are coming from. When you have a family, the pressure is definitely on to keep a close eye on your expenses. However, occasionally, it is good to take care of yourself as I think it certainly helps with mental health as well.

Luckily, I do not have any children or even a partner to worry about, but I nonetheless feel guilty about spending such amount on hair. Thank you for the advice - I will as the colourist and see what we can come up with. You're right, it might be one of the first step to overcome my recent hurdles. Thank you for that!

I had a OT come round the week before last to see what adaptations need doing for me in my home
. Housing is coming round next Thursday Anyone knows what to expect? Do they also need to ask questions about my health etc or will they just be looking to see if the adaptations are possible?
They’ll need to know a bit about your health conditions because it can impact on what you’re trying to do - for example if they know you have something that causes shortness of breath or fatigue they’d likely want to offer adaptations that help minimise this like perching stools so you’re not standing the whole time. They will be assessing to see what your needs are and what they can provide that helps with those needs. After that they’ll look and see if the adaptations they think you need will physically fit and be safe (for example a bath lift won’t fit in all baths but can be really useful for people who want to have a soak and can’t lower themselves in or out of a bath safely).

I've heard if you enable it then it becomes harder to break the habit for them, I know it will be hard but maybe just letting her whine it out will be better in the long run, just make sure there's plenty toys an comforts for her

Have you tried those boredom busters, the ones where you can put peanut butter inside? Maybe having those to keep her busy will take her mind off you not being there, you can get dog peanut butter from most pet shops now
Thankyou, I have seen those boredom busters but haven't got her one yet, for now we are giving her certain toys and a bone from her previous owner at mealtimes when she's alone.
Another thing I am doing is randomly leaving the room for no reason, letting her whine for a minute and then when she pauses I go back to her. Hopefully she will link the quiet to my return?
I'm confident we will crack it, I've somehow managed to birth and raise 3 humans so a dog should be simple right?! 😂🤞

So I applied for a job that had a guaranteed interview for mental health/disabilities under the no discrimination act

Obviously I didn't get a interview

Can they do this? Basically I was told that I wasn't right for it, even though I matched what they were looking for
Lots of people who applied wouldn’t have got an interview. That’s just the way it goes.

I havent no as tbh I dont think it would be taken seriously. I was out in Belfast too, thats dreadful how that woman was treated. It sounds so similar to me - I have been quite drunk before but my husband says it wasn't like that, it was so dramatic the shift, and as I say I never ever throw up. I have only been spiked once before when I was a student and it was similar to that. Thank goodness she had her friend, Im so grateful for my husband but feel guilty as he had to take care of me. I think Im just going to drink a lot of water and stay in bed for today.
What possesses people to do these things in the first place ,I'd still make a report tbh ,just take it easy and see how you go :(

I have a little hand held steamer because I hate ironing. It's brilliant, and useful for cleaning/disinfecting things. I put ironing water in it too so it smells lovely. Great for curtains too!

Top tip, if you have the heat proof gloves you use for hair curling/straightening etc, use those as you steam!
I was just about to suggest a steamer - I wouldn’t be without mine

If it is you and your partner going then I would say £50. If it is just you then maybe £25?

As you're best friend's the bride presumably knows roughly your financial situation so isn't expecting hundreds off you?

It is really tough deciding. But don't feel like you can't buy a gift just because they have asked for money.

Also it isn't like the US where you are expected to gift what your meal would have cost so hundreds. I think in the UK we understand that a wedding is an all in cost that the bride and groom are paying
Depending on where she is going on honeymoon could you gift her euros? For example £50 euros but then you've spent a little over £40?.

I was bridesmaid for my best friend of 20+ years and had a photo tile made from some pics I'd took on the day (she didn't have a photographer) so many apps do this cheaply now. I gifted money too but she told me the photos were what really made her happy.

She sounds like a good friend and I'm sure she'll be happy with what ever you choose.
Thanks both that’s really helpful. I am going to get her a small gift as well of a drawing of her, her fiancé and their little boy but I love the idea of currency as a present I think that’s really good so will do that I think :) it’s me and my partner going and we can stretch to around £75.

Thanks all I just wanted to make sure it didn’t sound really tight as she means a lot to me and I wanted to show her that as much as I can!

So I was speaking to a guy for five years long story short 2 years of that five years he was dating/ had a girlfriend and was still sexting me I found the girlfriend and told her everything.
He blocked me on everything and they stayed together. Last September he unblocked me 5 months after I snitched on him. I waited a couple of days thought this was weird and then messaged him so he knew I noticed what he done he instantly blocked me after.
Yesterday he unblocked me again but hasn’t messaged me. My friends done some fbi work and noticed they’re still together but she’s moving in with him this month (they’re long distance)
So I’m quite confused why’s he unblocked me again. Like I don’t want to block him because then he’ll know that I noticed he’s unblocked me but I can’t see it being the girlfriend that’s done it because I know his routine (been the same for years)
Personally. I would block him. More than likely he’s wanting a reaction from you. Wants an ego boost. Wants whatever. He’ll be hoping your still in the same mental space to entertain him again. I had a similar thing with a guy I was seeing. Only for a year. We parted ways. He got a girlfriend. I never knew that and phoned me. We chatted and then his girlfriend messaged me. A day or so later. I explained everything to her. Found he blocked me so I couldn’t even give him the “how dare you, you had a girlfriend” message. Then when they split up. He unblocked me and messaged “Hello stranger”. I blocked him straight away. It’s never going to be worth the headache of what may come

Nooo that was last time he unblocked me last year, he would reblock me when he was in work then unblock me when he finished so I messaged to get the whole thing out the way then he blocked me and left me blocked till yesterday so I haven’t bothered this time round
Honestly I'd just block him an forget about it, do you really want to be messed about with an your time wasted by someone so childish as to keep blocking an unblocking you lol he sounds like a immature 17yo that wants numerous girls

Tbh it's really up to you an what the new owners want, first house we sold we took it down before the put sold on it because new owners didn't care for it, second time the new owners wanted the sold sign in the garden as it was first home for them an they wanted a pic holding keys outside it, some company's do prefer to keep it up with its sold on it cause its a good look for them if others see that but really so long as you know its definitely sold then you can do whatever with the sign, some houses round here don't even bother with a sign in the first place now since they know people are going see it online anyway
Thank you! That’s useful to know. It’s actually because I want these people to have a successful sale (as do many people on my street as they’re not the easiest neighbours 😁). When I saw the sign had gone, I thought I had jinxed myself and they’d taken it off the market (because they have done so before) but it’s still sold stc on the website 🤞

Hi all just want to know if you think I'm overthinking and to forget it or whether my idea is a good one or too much!

Short version: I accidently woke up my friends toddler and he then took forever to go back to sleep meaning his dad missed dinner so I was going to get a voucher for just eat or something so he can have a hot dinner 🤣

Long version: I was going round my sisters best friend's house last night to plan her hen do. Another friend was joining us.

I went to my mums beforehand as she lives 10 mins away from sisters BF and it made sense for me to kill 2 birds as it were and not have to go home between working in the office etc. She was winding me up, as she often does, by being a bit of a mug in regards to my sister and she had had a drink which is never good with her.

Anyway I ended up leaving hers to avoid an argument. I had in my head we were meeting at 7 so left at 6:45 got there about 6:55 sat in the car replying to some texts and then rang the doorbell at bang on 7.

This is when I then realise I might have made a mistake. The dog starts barking and then I hear the toddler yell.

BFs husband invites me in. I sit down and he goes up to help with said toddler and swap with BF. On the cross over on the stairs I hear BF say he had just gone off but is awake now 😬

BF comes down and we have a hug and a chat. BF then says other friend is on their way and I realise my error.

We were meant to be meeting at 7:15 not 7. I profusely apologise and BF said it's OK I'm used to your sister (who I have ranted about previously as she is always 30 mins early at least) I said noooooo I just got my times wrong.

When other friend arrives at the right time, they have kids and obvs know not to ring the doorbell!!!! So as they was expecting her at 7:15 the door was ajar ready for her to just walk in 🤦🏼‍♀️

So basically toddler doesn't end up going to sleep until nearly 9pm! And dad missed dinner with us and basically had to eat his pizza cold 😬

My husband was like well BF should have said don't ring the doorbell. I said I shouldn't have been 15 mins early.

Anyway, well done if you have made it this far!!! I was thinking of sending them like £10/£15 just eat voucher or similar with a note apologising and saying treat yourself to some hot pizza?

Am I overthinking and should just leave it? And the voucher is a bit much? Or is that a nice gesture when I woke their kid up? Or will they think "oh dear child free idiot thinks this one bad night was her fault, how silly of her"

I promise I’m not dirty when I say this
But for about a few days now I’ve had no more than 2-3 flies in my house. I’ve hunted high and low to see if there’s something they are attracted too. But have been unable to find anything. I’ve cleaned up. I’ve mopped up. Ive bleached. I’ve used zoflora. I’ve just (within last hour) moved my outdoor bins as they were originally under the kitchen window (on outside) I empty my kitchen bin regularly but I can’t seem to get rid of them! I’ve left windows open. They don’t seem to leave. They’re not multiplying either. So doesn’t seem to be somethinf that will cause an infestation but they are SO annoying. It seems like the same 2-3 all the time. How can I get rid of them?
Could be cluster flies, they love in a crevice. If so, the good news is that they don’t carry the risks of house flies around food. You can get a bug bomb from Amazon for £5-10 that will get rid of them.
But honestly, we’re in the countryside and a good day is anything less than 15 house flies 🤢 - they’re rife this year with the weather

Maybe the wrong thread but I'm having troubles trying to find a few things. Does anyone have any recommendations for:

Some form of comfy sliders for inside the house. Not fluffy.

A hot drink flask. Id like to take one on my evening walks. Something I can carry easily.

Tia x
Not sure where you are but if you have a shoe zone or deichmanns those are good for those

Usually places like home bargains, B&Ms, the range have a huge selection of drink flasks an with Xmas stock now in they should have even more an they are good price as well

Thank you so far everyone. Just to add I have only posted on a thread with her once or twice over a year ago. I don't know her at all.

I now know what she wanted and our conversation is over.. But I am still very much confused over what happened and how it happened., This is why I want opinions .

I will post the rest of the conversation tomorrow so you know what happened and can maybe explain to me what happened and why.

Anyone got any tips or tricks for getting cheap travel like websites that give deals or best sites or times to book on?

Trying to get me an my folks down to london from Edinburgh to Euston but it's coming up as around £300 to £500 for trains, I'd probably prefer to train down as the airport isn't the easiest to get to an I cant do bus with travel sickness, need to walk about at least
There are some train ticket websites where they split the fares (so you end up getting a few tickets per journey) which works out cheaper than one ticket from and to a destination. Google "split train tickets" and lots of websites come up.
