I’ve a bridesmaid who got married during covid, so couldn’t do a lot of the wedding planning stuff I’m doing. She’s trying to take over all the stuff I’m doing, it’s an almost daily text of “I know you wanted this, but this looks better. No don’t do that for your wedding. You have to go and visit at least 3 dress shops on this day” I’m finding it exhausting, like I’m losing control, and quite frankly, regretting asking her to be a bridesmaid

Thanks, I'll look into the towel, so am I supposed to be using the ceramic shampoo to keep topping it up then? I have autoglem stuff that I've been using as I didn't know that, it's my first car an I just got it a few months back, they didn't really tell me anything about upkeep, just that it has the coating on it
You don't have to, but it makes sense to if you have it! The company that do the towel sell a ceramic shampoo, but Autoglym is good stuff.

Contact the council. That many people in a studio flat isn’t right.
With regard to the noise, have you considered installing acoustic ceiling panels?
If you have never had a problem before, maybe ask the landlord of upstairs to do some sound insulation, if you have lived for years with no complaints he should realise it is genuine

I used Pestmatic Smart Spray Ants Away at entry points when I found more than a few trundling into the kitchen a couple of years ago. It got rid of the lot, and I don’t mind saying I was surprised. Our house sits on what basically becomes one huge ant nest conurbation as the weather warms up; I expect a tiny voting card through for their metro mayor elections any time now.
I just don't know anymore where the entry points are, thought we sealed most of it but the kitchen needs total renovation anyway so all the skirting is old and holey. Need something that basically is gonna make them f off for good. We've not had an issue before, only some at the front door which was easily sorted by putting the powder outside. Unfortunately we were away for a month recently and they seem to have moved in 🤬

Does anyone have recommendations for work shoes? I currently wear crocs but I think I want to try something new. I've been looking an onclouds or brooks. Preferably waterproof but don't have to be
I ordered onclouds and were dissappointed in the quality so sent them back. At like £160 odd I expect better.
The shoes were light but the material was all wrinkled. I went back to getting airmax as I find them super comfy for all day wear

Do you have a euronics near you? We have one in our tiny village (which is random, we have fuck all else) and they’ll send their helpful, cheerful people who will do pretty much anything for you.
I do ! Thank you so much. Will investigate

Looking to get some photos printed, I know there's a few online I can get them from, any recommendations of which ones that will do pretty good quality?

Don't want to use those machines up town like in boots or Asda etc cause the quality always comes out so crap
FreePrints are decent. But the “free prints” are quite small.

I appreciate they aren't everyone's style but have you looked at Dr Martens? They do flat Mary Jane's and the soles are really supportive for standing in . They aren't too flat .
I second the dr martens. I love mine and think they’re really smart. I will advise you to buy the “balm” I think it’s called that they advertise, to rub on them because I really struggled with breaking them in. I’ve done it eventually but my god, it was a bit rough at times 😂

I have a rather silly question. Before we looked at the use by date on a packet of brown rice, my partner boiled it, and we were going to eat it. Then I happened to notice the use by date - 2014! I asked my partner to disgard the rice, and we used somerhing else.

Would the rice have been ok to eat?

Anecdotally, as I know the official line is ‘none of them’, but has anyone had experience of a contraceptive pill that didn’t increase appetite or known to be less likely to? Thanks
I can't say I've ever noticed that with the implant, and I've had maybe 4 over the years.

Not a problem as such but I was thinking of doing one of those DNA things to find out my ancestry. Has anyone here done one? What did you find out? Are there any downsides to doing it?

I'm not planing on making it a big deal with school but I'd i like opinions as it feels off,
My 5 year old swallowed a coin at school school (it happens no fault of school)
They rang me saying she was sick come pick her up (they didnt know at this point)
I turned up and they said she's just admitted to swallowing a coin.
We were quickly ushered off the site, I had to find my own way to the hospital. Which is fine I did, but surely she was under their care so surely yes have a parent attend but for their own back make sure the child attends a&e

I'm looking for a replace sun lounger cushion, the one that goes on the one that retracts back! I bought one and my bony ass could still feel the wires! All the reviews are saying the same, I just want one thats basically extra cushion so it's relaxing to sit on!

just got off my holiday there. my shins didn’t tan AT ALL. i tried everything! suncream, water, tanning oil, tanning butter. i was short of rubbing myself in baby oil. everywhere else got a gorgeous color, including my feet and thighs. just not my fucking shins. anyone have any tips or tricks for my next holiday or even a reason why this happened?
How bizarre. You don’t apply body lotion with a built in sunblock do you?

Hi, this might be very niche but just wondered if anyone here is Romanian or has knowledge of the Romanian medical system? Long story but I think a friend is being scammed for money..

I'm not sure whether to mention something in my catch up with my manager. So my work team consists of 3 teams of 2 covering the day but we don't ever overlap. There are assistants who overlap with us all.

My and the person I'm with have been on the team a while. The second team hasn't start yet as the two on that team have left. The third team one of the people has joined from another department.
During the handover the other day the person who had come from the other department said to someone that they actually do their job unlike people from another team. Now she didn't like the two people that left from team 2, especially one of them and always had issues with her work.
One of the assistants told me last week that she didn't have a problem with us just the people who left and not to worry as it's definitely not us. But she said this comment about her team doing work properly unlike others since the assistant told me this. Now we are the only team she could be saying it about unless she is still talking about the team that left but they left over a month ago.

Do I mention it to my manager say I've heard from people she has been saying stuff about us? Shall I ask the assistant who originally told me it wasn't about us what she thinks?

We do all the work we need to. Their team does do an extra task however we were specifically told not to do this task. So I also didn't know whether to say something about this as I don't want the teams that take over from us to think we just aren't doing this task, as it does help the teams taking over but there is good reason why we shouldn't be doing it, as it sets out the tasks for the next shift but this needs to be checked with the managers daily to make sure they want the same things doing otherwise the same things get copied over if we do it and if they don't want it done it makes a mess of the task sheet. We did do it in the past and they changed it due to them reasons but the person from the other department is also training the people from the brand new team meaning all but my team will probably be doing this so will probably look bad on us
