I’m upset because I got really anxious again this evening and asked my bf for constant reassurance whilst he was watching football. Yes it’s annoying, granted; and he said I ask the same questions over and over again and it doesn’t help. Which is fair.

But he also said that I “spoke through the whole first half” which hurt because I thought we were just chatting. I said I felt like an inconvenience and said I wasn’t, I should just have “more self awareness when someone wants to watch something”.

Because he’s usually so lovely, this really hurt. ☹ I am just sat in the bedroom upset whilst he watches football.

I have a non stick one and a ceramic one. The ceramic one has been fine, but you've now made me think the non stick one will probably get damaged, especially as it has a saute function, so things will probably get burnt on.
I had thought I had a non stick one but now am wondering if maybe it wasn't, I can't even think how it would have happened either, there's always been more than enough liquid in it so it's not like things have burned to it

A minor but annoying problem…

5 flies have appeared in my living room. Black ones, not like big buzzy ones. They have been there for 3 days and are all flying/circling in exactly the same spot?! They haven’t moved. What are they, why are they here and how do I get rid of them? 😆 I’m well used to “normal” flies and fruit flies in summer but I’ve never had these and they’re currently in the eyeline of my tv 😅

This happened to mine, and I was a month out of warranty! You can buy liners for it, but I just got a replacement in the end.
Yeah we are probably long out of warranty as well with it

Are there any good brands to go for if it's better to just get a new one?

Will do! The vinegar didnt work, just saw it on the camera an hour ago having a wizz but frustratingly, it was on the lead and she allowed it. If I thought one of them would cooperate id take one of the goats to her house and let it pee everywhere

let us know how you get on. I know it works for cats.

Olbas oil is cheap, less than a fiver and widely available, just save your used teabags

I read about this regarding a park in a nearby area. The local paper did an article on how people leaving food/feeding the ducks/swans had left the ground littered with food and the pond too.
This has led to the park being overrun with rats especially near the pond.
Visitors to the park were now screaming for the Council to do something about the vermin......
Exactly. We get regular complaints about the rats. The other issue is that feeding birds in water means the uneaten food just sinks and rots which impacts water quality. If only a couple of people a day did it, it wouldn’t be as much of a problem, but dozens of people feed every day.

Also, this is going to sound odd, but in areas where there is a high Muslim population, feeding of birds and wildlife is increased because it’s considered an act of charity with spiritual rewards so the over feeding is exacerbated.

I have a problem where Royal Mail have erroneously collected a parcel left on my doorstep that was a delivery for my partner and mistaken it for my return to very.

We don’t even have the same surname so postie clearly didn’t bother to check he had taken the wrong item, we also didn’t know the other package had been delivered as no one knocked the door.

I contacted Royal Mail and they said they would try and intercept the parcel but they haven’t and now it’s been returned to very.

I’ve rung very and explained the situation and that we need the parcel back urgently as it’s for works going on in the house. They said I will have to wait 30 days to see if it gets returned to me, I’ve explained but they won’t budge.

Does anyone know what I can do here? They are effectively withholding my partners property and won’t even try and find it to send back

I found a set of keys on the pavement of the road I live on. It has a car key, perhaps a house key and a fob. I tried the car key on the road to see if it opens any cars of the same make of car but it didn’t. Husband put it on the neighbourhood group chat but no one has replied. There isn’t a police station here I can drop it to. What shall I do?
Any shop you could give it to?

If you specifically booked a room with 'x x room with balcony' would you be happy with a Juliette balcony? Or would you expect one you can walk onto? The description of the room says - Balcony or terrace
Technically it is a balcony, I suppose, but very cheeky of them to advertise it as such. I would definitely expect to be able to step out on to it or sit down.

What’s the best thing to do with very worn, stained baby/ toddler clothes? They are in too bad condition to sell or give to a charity shop. Should I throw them away (which makes me feel bad but I don’t think I have any choice)?
Sodium percarbonate.

Not a problem as such but I was thinking of doing one of those DNA things to find out my ancestry. Has anyone here done one? What did you find out? Are there any downsides to doing it?
The downside is they sell your DNA so if you’re concerned about stuff like that don’t do it.
I did My Heritage and Ancestry. It’s interesting to me and I found out I’m half Portuguese! Had no idea. But I’m from South Africa so there’s limited availability for me in terms of seeing connections etc

Don't really know where to ask this question anyone have recommendations for a good water bottle that'll keep drinks cold?
I have found Quechua really good, from decathlon. and, as they are wide necked (without lid) you can add the reusable ice things. 0.5 0.8 and 1 ltr

I will keep looking. I've got plenty of tins in/noodles which could do with eating up.
Will phone local stores when I collect my thoughts x
I don't know if it happens to anyone else but it things can go wrong they tend to do so for me.

Google “ers reassurance seeking”. It will tell you why it’s ultimately making the situation worse and methods to try to stop/change that behaviour pattern.

https://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/~/...n-Sheet---19---Reassurance-Seeking-Carers.pdf it may also be helpful to show him this.
