I’ve just gone and watched that part now, it sounds quite far fetched and surely it would be really difficult to just dive into science subjects at a level when she’s been studying literature based subjects for so long, especially maths. In Ireland we have to do maths for our leaving cert and I also did physics, even though I would be more inclined to English like Jess. It’s much harder than I think she imagines it to be. I admire her for thinking about it, but she does admit she probably would never do it. The botany course sounds good though, better than lying in bed. God I really wish I had the money to just endlessly educate myself haha

I think that many people would dream to sit around and read all day. Sounds like my personal dream life to be honest.

I technically think the same - purely because I do have a busy life and career and would appreciate the downtime. But I know fine well that I’d be bored after a few weeks - maybe even before then - and itching to get back to doing something with my life.

It just amazes me she’s never had that feeling of wanting to do something.

I have to say, in a way, I kind of like Jess not milking the whole pregnancy. I can also imagine this is easier than to have to acknowledge 6+ months of continuous requests for baby inventory and what you’re packing in your hospital bag, or her views on breastfeeding. Just have that baby and what’s done is done. As long as it’s not announced officially, it will just be a few inquisitive comments here and there.

Well, I do think that you should try and not have a child if you cannot afford it. This is not the case with Jess, I compare her more to people like Binky Felstead etc., just a completely different lifestyle.

I don't think she has it in her for a PhD. It requires crazy amounts of self motivation, and I just don't think she has that any more. She's gotten lazy.

Her content is just ads at this point and telling us how she read a book although it seems like a chore to her to read books. Like she "must" do it for some reason. If you don't feel like reading just don't.
From my point of view, it looks like a weird obsession or a compulsive behavior. Something is off... I don't know.

She’s turned it into a job, like I read after work each day, it’s not my job, she however just films herself doing it, she’s got a really obscure taste in literature and how she doesn’t promote her local libraries I don’t know, she could promote book swapping too or actually put some effort into her book club like setting up a book group on Facebook, but no they all require effort

It's really not the type of book I see her reading if she weren't expecting...

I'm honestly baffled at the thought of her being pregnant. She has never given hints about wanting to start a family soon, so this came as quite a shock to me. Guess 2020 really is full of surprises.

I agree except it seems slightly strange to be so blasé about adding that to your currently reading... I’m ‘friends l’ with her too, it’s like Twitter in that you follow them without them following you, so a lot of eyes are on her profile and you even get emails about your friends updates. She must know everyone will either know she’s pregnant or think she is.

yeah defo these days you need a lot of money to put into it before you start earning from it. Sometimes you also need to be able to afford going without a job for some time while you work full time on your socials to try and turn it into a job.

I think back in the day it was a bit more organic.

Being an influencer is a bit of a vapid life. I am guessing Jess is fairly intelligent. So I can see how she wouldn't really enjoy being a full time influencer. I think her mental health would benefit from having a real job.

When you read on a kindle it automatically syncs to goodreads to show what you are reading, unless you tell it not to. Maybe she didn’t realise! If she is pregnant I can’t imagine her being really open about it on social media.

I think Jess really should think about the fact that there's large periods of time where 100% of her content is sponsored. It's so disingenuous and just so blatantly obvious it's a money-making pursuit. Like at least make it look like you're having fun too?

I just watched some of her old vlogmas from 2014 and she seems so happy and full of life compared to now. Obvs people change but it is kinda sad. I get at the moment she has a lot going on and it is understandable that she is sad about her mum, I just mean how she has appeared for the past year or two.

Should her new vlog have ad in the title? It has a Missoma ad in... not sure of the rules if only part of the vid is an ad. She did caption that that it was and it's in the description to be fair, but I hate clicking on videos and not realising it's an ad for a crap company.

Yep, should be clear in the title or thumbnail, it’s not in either, she doesn’t even have it in the first line of the description
