Exactly. I find it a bit odd. A lot of the comments are asking questions and she definitely has time to answer. I just find it quite hollow when youtubers refer to their audiences as 'you guys' and 'you guys are so supportive' and 'you guys are the reason I get to live this life' but they don't even bother interacting with their audience any more than that. Just makes their gratefulness seem performative.
It's a pathetic excuse to just allow her to be lazy. There are apparently 2 people working full time on her 'content' yet they can't answer questions/reply to comments and can't/won't mark ads properly.

The 'Hi my loves' is getting very grating

Out of curiosity, would people be questioning what Zak was doing if the genders were reversed? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone complain about or question a stay at home mum, but always see stay at home fathers, or even just men who work for their partner be questioned. At least he keeps out of her channel, I hate when youtubers boyfriends/husbands decide it’s going to be a shared channel when it’s something she’s worked on for years before alone.

Not sure when he quit his job, but perhaps when she found out she was pregnant they both decided to split the load of parenting and work and that’s why he now works for her?
Speaking for myself, I definitely do judge women of this generation for relying on their husband’s career and income. Especially since you don’t know what life has in store for you. Come a divorce or husband loses his job (or worse) and you’re left with nothing. Plus, I do not like all the financial responsibility to be on one person. That makes it so hard if the one earning money is not happy in their job and wants a career change or something.

As for people studying and not doing really working after their degree, I can only speak for my own country. But studying is quite heavily funded here, even though you have to pay some i to yourself too. If you get that opportunity, I think you should at least do something following your degree. But I digress, this may be too political for Tattle.

I've been rewatching her old vlogtobers and I feel like she was very motivated as a student, she would influence so many people with her days in the library and the outfits she'd wear to class and such. All the comments on those videos are about how cosy and motivating and inspiring her videos are. Then she moved back to London and I feel like her content was a lot less inspired, because she was a lot less inspired herself? I feel like she isn't sure what her content should be without it being super influential and motivating. Probably being a big perfectionist about the content, thus not posting much over the last few years.

I think she worries about needing to be productive for her followers. She started feeling uninspired, probably because people were less inspired by her content. It explains why right now her most passionate videos are her book videos, because it's kind of the most "educational" content she can think of right now.

Also there was a huge switch when she was done with uni. Seeing her be a "regular" student with study vlogs, notebook hauls, how to style dr martens on campus etc was very relatable. As a viewer you'd think that if you only had the same Unif sweater you'd be as productive as her in the library lol. And then living in London in a gorgeous home, not really doing anything, her fashion and make up content all became ads. Even though she always bought expensive designer items it seemed like it was a lot more frequent and a lot less relatable for 95% of the viewers.

Which is such a shame. I always really enjoy her videos but I feel she doesn't really enjoy them herself, because she knows her daily life is less productive and that's what her viewers always seemed to like. It must be difficult creating new content when you know your fans are very critical and want you to be the same person from years ago.

Obviously I get that now with her mom being sick everything is different. This is more of a general observation over the last few years. I hope she's doing well and feels less tired/more inspired soon.

I just saw the caption and came here. Her captions are almost never simple cute words like that. Is "baby blue" even often used in English to describe this shade of blue? I often hear baby pink but baby blue, not as much... I think she's dropping hints at this point.
Baby blue is pretty common to describe the colour of the top she is wear.

I haven’t had a chance to watch the video yet, does she mention why she kept it quiet for this long? She said something on insta stories about being glad she doesn’t have to keep it a secret anymore and I wondered why, if it bothered her that much, she didn’t just say earlier (particularly as she was getting some comments asking about it).
She said she had a pretty difficult first trimester which carried on into the second, though she didn't explain what exactly but did say she didn't have to go to hospital, and that announcing now meant she is in a better place or something. She also said she was taking time to get used to the idea.

I like that she is being considerate thinking of whether to show the baby and seems pretty set that its appearance in videos will be minimal if she even shows her at all. Some influencers starting using their baby as an ad opportunity or photo prop as soon as they can which feels a bit off to me.

I just saw the video that's so sad, I really hope her mum gets better I can't imagine going through that. Especially after losing their aunt to cancer a a while ago. It really puts things into perspective doesn't it.

It's really not the type of book I see her reading if she weren't expecting...

I'm honestly baffled at the thought of her being pregnant. She has never given hints about wanting to start a family soon, so this came as quite a shock to me. Guess 2020 really is full of surprises.

I think it's clear now that she is just going to spend her life taking courses, reading and working on home interiors/having a family in the future. I think her perceived depression/laziness maybe comes from a sense of guilt or general anxiety around the fact that her parents and step-dad are career driven to the extreme. I have felt similar feelings with my own parents who want me to have a big career like my dad, but I know deep down that I don't have the ambition for it.

I personally don't think she is pregnant, she admitted herself that she hasn't been doing loads of exercise due to covid and said she still won't be going back to the gym, even though they are open now, presumably due to her Mums condition. In her try-on a couple of days ago she still looks super slim, I personally don't think she has gained weight.

The fact that she takes so long with her book reviews kills me because her reviews are so basic so it's like why does it take so long to give a review. I get that she reads a lot but if that is causing the issues with getting reviews out then like IDK don't read that much lol. I do enjoy her book videos but not her review videos only because I like to see what she's reading but I don't care for her reviews, I always skip around on those.

I really don't see Jess trying to use a baby to get free stuff, she's never been a beggy influencer the way a lot are by tagging brands and hinting for specific products as she's rich enough to not need to.

I’m seriously confused at her comment about having ‘structured time off’.

Her day-to-day life is what my time off looks like (reading, going for walks, taking photos etc). Do you think she looks at us all with utter bemusement that we have jobs that keep us busy the majority of the time so that her ‘work’ is our relaxation?!

Don’t forget this baby is being born into a huge set of wealth and privileged, yes some people might struggle work like balance when they become parents but Jess is very lucky lots of brands still want to work with her and will continue to do so and she can evolve her content around the baby, and Zak works for her, they’ll be set up quite well

to be fair in the video she doesn't give the impression that the pregnancy was planned. quite the opposite really. although she does say that considering the shit year with her mum's illness and covid the pregnancy gave her some way of looking into the future; some sort of purpose
Ah I see. I haven’t watched the video yet, came straight here from her instagram post.
Not to be harsh and speaking solely from secondhand experience, but I wonder if she’s really thought through what it really means to commit to having a child. People always think of “purpose” in relation to kids with rose tinted lens, but if children weren’t high on how she saw meaning in her life to begin with (and that’s obviously a big assumption on my part, and I could be wrong), those sleepless nights for months on end can be particularly devastating on mental health. And we’ve all watched how she’s seemed to struggle generally with just everyday life after being out of uni.

Well, she has the financial means for it, so at least the exorbitant cost of being a parent these days won’t be an issue for her.

I’m really happy with her sudden surge in uploads! If this is how she plans to continue without the ADs, this is what we can enjoy

I dunno why so many people are obsessed with Jess doing more and how her life isn’t “fulfilling” enough.
Let’s face it, she earns 10 times more than she would in any job her degree could get her.
she gets to do whatever she wants, a bit of styling, a bit of photography, shoot look books with zak and shop for a living. She bought a huge beautiful house and is doing probably a 2/300k renovation right now and can set her own schedule and spend the whole day reading if she wants to. She also has time to support her mum and drive her to all her appointments during her cancer treatment.

I dunno why you all think she would be more fulfilled doing a low paid 9-5. Sounds like she has the perfect set up for her interests and is lucky that she and Zak will be able to spend a lot of time with the baby in its early years.
Jess, is that you?

Well then, it’s amazing that Jess has two successful parents and apparently doesn’t feel inspired by them at all. Laziest girl.

I actually like the fact Jess said she'll definitely end up showing the baby - so many influencers are so set on not showing their kids ever then give in as soon as they can use them for ads - at least she's transparent
