She didn’t come back for the final group dance (like everyone else who leaves for non Strictly accrued physical injury reasons) … why on earth would anyone think she‘d be on the tour - or want to be?

I wasn't big fan of Amanda prior to the show for the whole going bankrupt will living with a multi millionaire - also didn't like him for not helping her out - I know it's more complicated but hey we all judge celebrities for stupid reasons.

I honestly didn't know about anything her social media and terfy comments - that wouldn't bother me given I'm also in my 50s and have concerns about these issues. Don't bother trying to debate with me - I'm not changing my mind and neither are you!!!

Amanda did some lovely dances with Gio and I was looking forward to their journey in the competition. However even if they hadn't withdrawn, I don't think they'd have bothered the final as they didn't seem to have a connection - if was very professional with no emotion attached.

If Gio has mistreated Amanda, he needs to go. And bear in mind I've got tickets to see him so I'm a fan.

If it's a case of 50/50 he can stay. But as I've said before I think he needs to speak to Anton about how to last on the show.

As for the comments on social media - I wouldn't automatically assume its Gio fans giving Amanda grief.

However the second she wins, she's getting loads of and comments that she shouldn't have won, generally it seems Bobby was the chosen one.

We have to face facts, people love berating women for all manner of things, real and imagined.

Johannes says in his book that his first season on Strictly SA he pushed his partner so hard it became a miserable experience for them both. He took advice from the other pros and eased off.

I think Oti said something similar about partnering Danny Mac - something like she had them working so hard that she didn't really leave any time for them to get to know each other properly and bond on that level, and that was something she learnt from. I guess when a pro has a ringer for the first time, they can get carried away with what they can achieve with them

No she and the other celebs shouldn't be put in that position you're right. But IMO it's not just on the pros in these situations, it's on the show and on the expectations of the public and the celebs also have an element of personal responsibility to take here. The pros push because that's the standard expected of them. The level of dances we see on the show don't come from a few gentle hours training a day.
Too much is expected of amateur untrained dancers. Too much pressure and too high a standard. In years gone by the celebs were eased into it with short gentle dances. Now they're expected to do lifts and specialist dances from the start.
Adam Peaty was a currently competing Olympic medalist and made comments about the pain his body was in during the show.
And I've frequently heard people on here complain about the levels on DWTS and the Italian Strictly. Well that's what you get when there's less training and the choreography is limited to the ability of the celeb.

I mean, we’ve talked on here over the series about how the celebs are expected to do way too much … especially with Ellie nearly rearranging her face for a stupid lift. The girls are expected to be acrobats-cum-gymnasts and the blokes given responsibly for the health of their partner (Jody looked rightly terrified at having to do lifts, and I‘m sure that in one of his very early dances Nigel was supposed to be twirling Katya up and down in a headbanger but went with a slight wobble well away from from the floor).

I think the consensus here was stick to the traditional dances for the first weeks and leave the flashy lifty dances until the celeb is more able.

The thing with sportspeople is they use their bodies in a certain way for their sport. I could cycle at a fairly nippy rate at one time of day … can’t run for toffee though. going from something like swimming to dancing is a huge shift for the muscles. It’s like Victoria Pendleton who had an absolute core of steel but danced like a rag doll. The best sports people for dancing are either actual gymnasts or ones where balance plays a big part in the day job … cricketers, or track and field that’s not just pure running like hurdling.

But then, when a celeb does say, no it’s too much they get called Slacker McSlackerton of Slackertown who should just suck it up.

I feel the need to defend Dianne here. They've been together for 5 years and even though they've been putting up with this crap since pretty much the start there's never been a reason (imo) to suggest that Dianne has or would cheat. Who knows if they'll live "happily ever after" but I don't think it's fair to say it will be down to Dianne if they don't.

I'm nearly sure Shirl had a dig at Nigel because he apparently was going home at a reasonable hour. And she praised Layton - more than once, I think - for the hours he was putting in.

I didn't know that before about Rose being carried around. That's absolute crazy stuff. Seriously they need to rethink a lot of things before the next series.

I just went on the Gio thread on DS. People saying Amanda was not willing to put the work in - surely as the celeb she has the right to say how much work she puts in? If she does not practice enough, then it is her who will be standing there like a plank on Saturday night. The pro just needs to encourage them and work within their limits (time or ability).

I think the pros are staying clear of Gio, mainly so they don’t end up in the press as seen as showing support. Also perhaps the source who seemed to be one of Giovannis team saying the other pros are jealous of him didn’t sit well with them.

Honestly out of the whole article this is the part I buy the least. I know Gio isn't super popular on here, but I always thought despite being pretty cocky, he seemed to get on well with the other pros. He was always close with Gorka and Kai, and they still seemed friendly in the clauditorium. He also seemed friendly with Karen, Luba and Jowita this year, and he and Jowita haven't seemed to have had too much of a fallen out despite their 'break up'. I don't doubt he's a bit of a dick but I don't see hum feuding with all the pros. He also tours with Lauren! If he was so awful I doubt she'd tour with him again this year.

Ah, see I can totally believe he thinks it whether it's true or not.

For the last couple of years he really hasn’t looked like he wanted to be there. He’s dipped out of all the ITT fun stuff and missed out on the pre season training and filming for the group dances. He‘s haunted the Clauditorium like a ghost at a feast. The new pro’s have been accepted and all get on seemingly very well and if he feels marginalised then the others being jealous of his success is a reason he can tell himself without actually having to think if it’s anything to do with him.
