An influencer I follow said there’s a list of company’s ads online and the influencer would chose which one they like the look of then they ask the company if they would be happy to let them take on the ad then the company would decide yes or no.So she’s now in paid partnership with Betty Crockerhow does this even happen? Do they send “shout out” to all these companies?

Not excusing any of S&D’s behaviour re sponsorship, begging or the pins, but just to say Betty Crocker are a corporate sponsor of the coffee mornings which means they will probably have given Macmillan a hefty lump sum to be named as a partner of the events. They’ll be paying “influencers” to do ads in the hope of raising awareness of the coffee mornings to get more people to hold events and raise money for Macmillan. It’ll be part of BC’s corporate social responsibility strategy to get people to positively associate them with a good cause, which obviously hasn’t gone well for them here
