Sorry to derail as usual, but I've just started listening to Lauren on that podcast of that annoying American man who seems to be endlessly all over my Instagram. Her saying she moved to Italy for a simple life is just laughable, she lives a very affluent lifestyle by anyone's standards I would say, let alone living somewhere with a low cost of living. This is what annoys me so much about so many of these people who move to Italy and seem to have a dream life (sofie included). I gave up after about 5 minutes, might attempt to listen to the rest if I am bored later

Not off topic since it seems, to me, Sofie's family is also a We vs Them Mexican family. Sofie also went to a French school there as a child, didn't she? Of course they aren't like "those" Mexicans. The internalized racism and outright racism is real, as evidenced by the vote.

Ah, well, it doesn't matter anyway because she deleted it. I guess that's what happens when you post your bad takes online and can't handle dissenting opinions... but she said "we all have our own opinions" as if she can tolerate them?? Hmmm...

Kacie made a TikTok of her bad experience at the restaurant (using the same IG stories as she posted). Girl let it GO. This restaurant doesn’t need to be called out as if they tried to poison you. You’re just being petty

Aha! I figured she must have since new comments keep coming on their IG and her her InstaStories expired a bit ago. She should be careful since defamation laws in Italy are really tight compared to the US. Restaurants report negative reviews a lot and with her continuing like this, with all the crazy fans pounding them, she might want to think twice.

Lol! Yes, she says "your totale." Hahaha. I don't know why her voice and accent change so badly when she attempts Italian.

Not yet! We are hoping to be united early next year so we will have our simple courtroom wedding so we can get our paperwork done, then will do our separate ceremonies later after we save up some money. Main goal right now is just to be together!! It's been a long journey

Yeah, they hired her bc she already had dual citizenship.

I see she finally updates her LinkedIn. She put her end date Dec 2024. So she likely ran up all of her maternity and vacation time til the end. I'll have a look and see if someone else lists that position.

She would have been making close to six figures with her Sunday Riley job, there must have been a big falling out about her new role from the early 2023 promotion or maternity leave. I cant imagine her giving that money up easily, or all of the fancy events she was going to. She also said the reason why they moved back to the US in 2019 was so she could advance her career.

Remember she had a menty b after that Rinascente pop up event she had to organize? I'm not going to drag her for it, but I'm speculating she couldn't handle the pressure of that job. I've kind of thought her whole "pre maternity medical leave" was connected to her mental wellbeing which probably affected the fetus. Didn't she say the baby had some issues early on with growth or something?

Maybe she wanted to work from home and her job obviously entailed being on site setting up events and showing face.

Lucky her she could just ditch a job. But I'm really curious since I've read more than a few times SR Is a very vindictive company to work for.

Btw, agree about Kr's sensitivity. I wish I could remember what reel or post it was but she commented something similiar. Like "we're not challenging other people's opinions" or similar. It was over the holidays, IIRC and I only remember thinking "I don't see any rude comments here...?"

ETA: Nevermind! I know what it was. It was the reel about her trip to London and how some woman was shocked she used toothpaste "because Americans don't." One, I'm pretty sure I'd chalk it up to an isolated incident and not assume all Brits think this. 2. She posted a whole reel about it 3. The comments were just normal, either joking about Austin Powers or actual Brits noting free dental isn't covered by NHS for everyone. Kacie was all over the comments , and I'm not sure what she expected given she made the incident public for views and comments.

I wonder who she gets contracts with? A month or 2 ago in her stories she closed one so she booked this series of holidays for herself as a reward. There's something so cold and impersonal about her it's hard for me to imagine her selling something or even presenting. Like @moronglace showed in those clips, she's also very permalosa, which isn't great if you work in social media.

If Sofie isn’t posting sponsored skincare stuff, it’s about her going to exclusive events and retreats that most of us will never experience.

I used to like her for being relatable, when she had her social media presence to talk about everyday life in Italy and to connect with people when she was alone in a new country.
What is the purpose of her social media now? I don’t buy into the need for a 12 step skincare routine from a company that swindles me (not getting the full amount of product paid for). I don’t want ugly purses or Italian with Davide courses. I don’t feel connected to you while you share your Gucci Osteria wine tasting or your YSL makeup routine. You don’t need to make friends on your YouTube or IG platform because you already know all the gente altolocata in Florence by now.

Obviously I don't know what happened, but I would wager it was because Kacie didn't understand something either when booking or what they told her. So now she's telling people (over a million )to go elsewhere, despite everything else being great?

Also with her book deal, trips and brand deals she could just stop pretending she had to save up €600. Lol

My assumption would be they didn't want to give her a discount. Without specifying the problem I think it is totally unfair to make these kind of statements, also a grown adult crying outside a restaurant
