Sofie's World

[Denise0211]

Leave it to Kacie to show off how well she's been learning with Davide and Babbel.

Meanwhile Sofie is promoting another richer than fuq expat's little whim ...I mean, business. The Parlour is in her latest stories.

One moment, please...

[Denise0211]

I like that Sofie speaks quite well, even picking up her husband/his family's calabrese accent more or less. Though she can sometimes be a bit vulgar, which always takes me by surprise lol. I curse in my daily life, but I wouldn't do it on a public platform lol.

[moronglace]

She would have been making close to six figures with her Sunday Riley job, there must have been a big falling out about her new role from the early 2023 promotion or maternity leave. I cant imagine her giving that money up easily, or all of the fancy events she was going to. She also said the reason why they moved back to the US in 2019 was so she could advance her career.

And her reason for leaving the US was the position, she was excited to "expand and learn new things". I feel pretty bad for Emilio just getting to the US after dealing with green card stuff and he had basically just gotten his real estate license, just a few months before they left.

I'm sorry she had a "menty b" (love that @Denise0211) when she was pregnant, I wouldn't wish her harm or harm to her baby. But do you think she left before she went on maternity leave?

[Denise0211]

Yeah, those are a couple of the sources I saw too. @moronglace I can't believe her balls when talking about him as successful or showing him off at all. What a thug. It also made me wonder if her boyfriend wanted to meet her for this reason.

[Denise0211]

Why does she come off as such an asshole when she's "asking questions?" Why is getting tested monthly for something that can cause miscarriage or stillbirth bc you infected your baby with it such an inconvenience? Omg "So they make you get tested for toxoplasmosis every month here." ~smirk, bewildered head cock.

[emm]

It's also like the 2nd or 3rd time her dad's mentioned the mafioso Buscetta. I wonder if he's got some hang up bc the guy turned collaborator. Lol. Lauren chose a boyfriend who seems just like her dad.

If you're willing @emm a thread wouldn't be a bad idea lol.

100% the dad has some very shady links, and I assume Antonio too
I will make one while I'm next on a break and post the link here

She was driving illegally in Rome and I once commented so. Usually for stranieri you have 1 year from residency to use your IDP, then you have to get an Italian license (if you want to drive, obvs lol). But since she came as a dual citizen she had to have an Italian license, the IDP is invalid. I guess she was doing the whole "I didn't know." A dual citizen ex colleague of mine tried playing dumb when she got pulled over. Car was impounded until she got an Italian license and 3500 fine.

I cannot believe she would be so blatant about it posting on social media. Influencers really just do think they are above the law

[Denise0211]

Definitely the latter

Yes, with her standard "thank you!" Lol

[moronglace]

Yeah she can’t understand who is being referred to because she doesn’t understand well enough to grasp the context.

[moronglace]

[emm]

Yet another great ad for her friends language teaching app

[emm]

I can't remember either, was it some weird pasta dish? With stuff on top? I remember thinking it looked awful, too.

Yes, god knows, not only is her Italian not improving neither is her cooking

[Denise0211]

Yeah exactly @emm If Sofie isn't doing a bunch of SR posts, she's posting ads for MZ Wallace or hotels. It's so boring, at least for me. Maybe because she doesn't really post anything else to offset them except for a random shot of Leo or Barolo.

[Denise0211]

I was wondering, why is her not having her drivers license a dealbreaker for her? She drove in Rome without an Italian license, what difference does it make now? Is it because her US license expired?

Oh definitely @emm . I should have explained my thought better. In that this Shayna and Sofie are so polished and so obviously privileged and care about appearance, there's a bit of snobbishness (at least from Sofie) whereas Kacie could never really fit in with them as she is now. I feel like she's had to have earned a good amount from Tik Tok, sponsorships (lol) and this tour thing, but it looks like she grew up middle class. At least from what I've seen of her family/home. I feel she doesn't fit in with these other two when it comes to "influencing."

But yeah, Kacie's crying is annoying anyway.

Oh, thanks for the info @hgfyu!

Also, some tea:

[moronglace]

I feel like I’ve heard the name QB cucina before.
But I think it maybe just reminded me of QKatie, who is a food journalist who lived in Italy for about a year and her stuff was popping up on my SM when Italy was in lockdown

[emm]

I am sensitive to people's mental health struggles, but come on. Scrolling Shayna's IG yet another very rich "influencer" crying constantly in reels and posts about their struggles and aNxiEtY.

@hgfyu Where can we see the boyfriend? I'm intrigued.

It's funny bc Kacie and her unpolished and not perfectly curated life doesn't fit in with Sofie or this person and those types at all. That's actually a plus point for her, at least for me lol.

Oh god tell me about it. Anxiety has lost all meaning it seems, rather than what can be a dehabilitating mental issue it is basically just "stress" . Not just her or.sofie etc but I'm so sick of influencers living abroad (generally Spain,Italy, france) filming themselves crying online. I cannot imagine any situation in which I would be upset and decide to film myself.
I get what you mean with kacie but... she does do the same annoying "anxiety" type posts. This sounds really bitchy maybe (but I'm happy for her she has a partner who really understands her and the romance etc she likes) but she must be thrilled at this bday thing. Playing into the Hallmark film life Americans often imagine life with an Italian partner to be ultimate content

[Denise0211]

Hilarious people are tagglimg the Michelin guide kacies fans are hilariously naive

They're naive and think everything works like it does in the US. Nobody's getting fired over this lol.

[moronglace]

Do either of you get the sense that Kacie's not really into Italy for Italy itself? Like instead she's into it for the way she can make content? For me learning the language (apart from my general love for learning foreign languages) came from my enthusiasm to understand Italy and its culture... which, going even deeper, was inspired by my relationship and my desire to better understand my partner and the world he comes from.
It's clear that Sofie has a strong emotional connection to Italy through her relationship.

By the way, I do find it odd that Emilio doesn't want to be on Sofie's social media... I remember one video where she was doing the "speaking Italian for 24 hours" challenge, and when she talks to Emilio at one point, you can hear him say in the background: "I don't wanna BE in your video!!" and she brushes it off by scolding him for not speaking Italian.

I wonder how much they fight about him coming on camera and why he doesn't want to be in the videos. I totally get not wanting to be seen on camera, but sometimes he won't even speak. I always thought maybe he is insecure about his voice.

[moronglace]

what onearth isher latest reel/post,very clearly advertising that suncream(pouring it straight onto hereskin... ugh god) but alsovery obviously pretending to drink from an empty mug? Alsosurely for most/allpeople "cambio di stagione" is not putting their winter clothes on vinted...so she is buying a whole new wardobeevery season? When I don't useclothes anymore I donate them.I am sick of how stingy influencersare

Drinking from an empty mug = no caffeine = pregnant?!?
