If Sofie isn’t posting sponsored skincare stuff, it’s about her going to exclusive events and retreats that most of us will never experience.

I used to like her for being relatable, when she had her social media presence to talk about everyday life in Italy and to connect with people when she was alone in a new country.
What is the purpose of her social media now? I don’t buy into the need for a 12 step skincare routine from a company that swindles me (not getting the full amount of product paid for). I don’t want weird purses or Italian with Davide courses. I don’t feel connected to you while you share your Gucci Osteria wine tasting or your YSL makeup routine. You don’t need to make friends on your YouTube or IG platform because you already know all the gente altolocata in Florence by now.

Yeah, it's much more "Influencer" stuff now, aside from a boring "we went on a hike up to Fiesole" (I swear she's posted that type of content at least 3 times between YT and reels/stories). I assume her having to network for SR she gets a lot of invites to basically everything. The people she tags either have something to promote or are in need of clout themselves (I forget her name, but the woman who did the interior design of the one new hot restaurant she went to the opening recently for, for example.)

While she's at least integrated in Italian life opposed to say, Kacie or Danae Mercer, it's all the same "expat with loads of money" bubble.

I am constantly surprised that language apps and that friend of hers with the lessons sponsor her, do they not watch her content?! She really doesn't know basics, and wasn't (isn't) she in a physical school there also for her visa?

Exactly, neither are good adverts for what they are promoting. Kacie and her lack of general common sense is absolutely cringe worthy. You understand who someone is talking to/about based on the conversation, which i assume means she understands nothing other than lei jn what she is listening to?

I forgot about that! I feel it's a mutual agreement, though, since this woman appears pretty often in her stories, even lunching together with a "recommendation" by Sofie.

I think she's thirsty to actually get makeup deals lol. She did the Maybelline mascara one practically begging for a sponsorship. It's so embarrassing. Does she forget actual beauty "community" gurus are still out there?

It annoys me Sofie seems to be friends with those 2 ditzes. Of the 3 only one speaks the language, has an actual job and is integrated. Sofie has her flaws but it's a strange friendship, IMO.

And lol...I agree with your ideas about Kylie. I'm sure Kylie would also take jabs at the beauty industry, despite her actually owning Chanel and YSL products lol. And don't forget, Kylie won't be drinking.
