What is the point of her "learning" dialect to go to Sicily? I mean in terms of practicality. Unless she's going to like the most remote parts of the island or something, it's not like people aren't going to understand standard Italian. It's just got to be a way for her to "prove" she is fluent now.
Meanwhile not a lick of Italian in her stories while trying on the dress? The way she was standing there while the two ladies were looking at the dresses took me back to when I was learning Italian and I was either utterly confused what was going on, or didn't know how to respond. Not even a "che bello" when shown the dress? Fluent? Let's see her speak Italian unscripted in a video with Sofie.

What were her stories? I missed them

Her putting on makeup lol, and talking about how hard it is to be away from her family so much and how she needed this time away to be "home." But she said she doesn't mean she's moving back to the US. I put "home" in quotes because it struck me. After a while, most expats I know just consider Italy home and "visit family" back wherever they come from. She seems especially attached to her mother.

Why is everything so overwhelming for her? She can't even do the cambio stagione now? Yeah it's annoying, but she makes it seem like without mamma it would be so difficult. I honestly can't stand "Pregnancy Sofie."

What do you all think about her and Emilio's tour company? Do you think they'll get a lot of interest? I hate the overuse of "bespoke" anymore. I guess "personalized" or "customized" aren't bougie sounding enough words lol.

Her stories look like an ad - she clearly spent time curating the stories. I also noticed she’s been writing her captions in stories in all caps. That makes me think it’s some kind of social media marketing technique, like in her casual everyday posts it wouldn’t be in all caps.

Good eye, re: the all caps. But that reminds me, I'm 100% certain that one reel she did for the bracelet was AI voice generated. I tried out some apps and my voice had the same weird pitch and sounded so "clean." Your mentioning her perfect Italian sealed it for me-- I assume she typed (with Emilio likely grammar checking) the prompts/script she was given and voilà. I guess it's an easy way to not make any errors/flubs with much less effort.

That reminds me though! I remember when she got COVID (the first time) back in TX. She was SO SHOCKED "because I've hardly gone out." Girl was out one to 2 nights a week (based on her IG) at that "authentic" Italian place she found in Houston. Because...Texas. While many states were still in full Stay at Home ordinances and much of the world still in lockdown, I remember rolling my eyes so hard at that. "I have no idea how I got it, so embarrassing." Girl, please. Lol.

If it's not SR, Sofie's content with Betty Soldi and Sofie's fellow wealthy expats is so boring. Why do we care seeing them on boats, drinking spritzes etc? She's really gone full on "influencer" promoting anyone and anything that's a freebie and in exchange for SR recognition. Sort of like Tia Taylor, but I give Tia credit because she's involved in helping a community of marginalized groups and always tags everything, or outright says "Ad break!"

I liked her little quip in the recent video where she says “we paid to be here (Four Seasons), for all you wondering…”

Btw, I notice that unlike Kacie(!) and many other Firenze expats, Sofie has said zilch about voting and the future of women's rights in the US. Same for Danae Mercer, which tells me everything I need to know about their beliefs. Danae seems to be a coward and painfully ignorant, but Sofie smacks me as a "both sides are bad" type.

If I missed Sofie's Instastory about voting please let me know.

After looking back on this thread, it looked like she was already having issues with her job before she got pregnant in April/May 2023. That was when she stopped showing SR during her makeup hauls too. And I don’t think she’s mentioned them since.

Instead of selling much of her stuff on Vinted, why not donate it to a charity? The St James Church in Florence always holds clothing drives as well as Thrift shops days where the money go towards the food bank. Does she really need an extra 20-30€ for her crap? Does she not want to see "poor people" (said in Anna Delvey voice) wearing her shit around town?

She has some close friends that she’s probably visiting but that’s the unfortunate reality of being a dual citizen. I wish that she would do an honest video of how to maintain long distance friendships and family relationships.

Yeah, the weird thing is she hasn't mentioned or shown him for a while. She used to, even if just little IG stories. She's been out with Leo on both IG and TikTok (I think) but nothing about the cat. No Barolo-Kaia interaction, which is also odd bc I assume it's unavoidable.

And yeah, I also assume she'd be-understandably- upset or crying about it on her socials if he died. Hmmm.
