I remember when Sofie was getting Hank and people were encouraging her to consider getting a cat instead she was all 'I am NOT a cat person I hate cats' etc etc... and then said she wanted a dog for therapy/personal growth reasons??

Pets are not an accessory for your emotional problems. Also cats are great companion animals and there's tons of evidence that petting a purring cat helps with anxiety and HBP and all sorts of things, plus they are SO much more independent than dogs for first time pet owners/ people with busy lifestyles. But noooo Sofie perceives cats as worse somehow so that's that.

Whenever I see the pics of him on stage with her looking up at her like ‘WTF?’ I just feel angry that a person could be so selfish and foolish to think they could slot a dog into their life.

Everybody told Sofie not to buy that dog. So many people told her that he would need surgery for entropion and was a high needs/high anxiety breed. Before she even brought him home.

Et voila. All came home to roost didn’t it.

I've said this in a previous thread, so I'll try not to bang on about it too much, but it bothers me so much.

I really feel like she's projecting her anxieties onto her dog. Hank can't go out because Hank is apparently scared of everything and she doesn't want to overwhelm him. If he's truly afraid, he really NEEDS to get out and be desensitised through positive reinforcement training. The longer she puts it off, the worse it will get.

This is all assuming that Hank actually is a nervous dog - I feel like it's maybe more Sofie who doesn't want to leave her flat due to her anxiety disorder.
Agree, it is unnatural for a dog (or any animal really) to be home 24/7, people should need a lisence before getting a pet IMO, it is apparent so many people have no idea what they're doing (sorry rant over lol)

yeah I agree, there is lots of evidence of women's pain not being taking seriously, I have never seen this about overwight/obese people
Not necessarily just pain related but as someone whos partner is overweight I can say that doctors definitely don't take you seriously as a larger person and try to bring everything back to weight loss as the only solution. However, obesity is a risk factor not only due to related health impacts (diabetes etc but also not to mention that other co-morbidity factors can cause weight gain etc) but also obese people are apparently harder to treat regarding covid and therefore more likely to die from it (just according to what I've read on the topic from another thread on here, so can't be certain).

Basically, not sure what Sofie was saying about the vaccine etc (and don't really care because I find them boring and stopped following a long time ago) but it seems like they may be conflating two arguments regarding fat people's day-to-day medical discrimination and what seems to be quite a solid statistic that being overweight, for whatever reason, increases your chances of being at risk due to covid. Just to say, also, being fat can intersect with many other 'higher risk/vulnerable' groups (low income/front line working, disability, age etc) so I'd think that also plays a part too.

It's such a cop out saying that people assume she doesn't walk Hank because she's fat. I'm fat and a huge part of my day revolves around exercising my dog. People assume she doesn't walk Hank because she has said herself that she doesn't leave the house!

Sofie says she'll be treating Hank to walks for his birthday ...a treat indeed 🥲 at least she says he starts doggie daycare so maybe he'll finally get to stretch his legs.

THREE takeaways an average day?!? I just... I get not wanting to cook when you feel crappy but just stock up on ready meals or ravioli or something easy? It's such a huge waste of money!! (And I say this as someone who orders takeaways 3 times a week and can't really afford it but knows how tempting it is, hence my coping strategies.)
It’s mad she’s sharing that with the same audience she begs off to pay her vet’s bills…? I’m sure very few of them can afford to do diddly shit other than deliveroo all day hence them being able to pick up Hanks’ tab.

Also thought Tiktoks were like 15 seconds, that felt like a v depressing hour.

Omg as if she has her own thread now 😩 I’ve been a fan of sofie and generally I quite like her comedy although I’ve had a lot of issues with her that I don’t know where to start.
her privelage is getting out of hand, the expensive dog, never being able to question her (even if she asks advice) her vague ‘trauma’ etc etc but this… is … vile?!? Are we comparing being overweight to autism and other disabilities?! Is going to the theatre a human right? Who’s even been to that many shows?! I read the comments and I nearly caught the white privelage that was radiating from them and had to come here to be cleansed.

Omg I can’t believe how many stories there are about telling/not telling the shop worker about a missing/not missing item. Honestly who cares. If only Sofie put the same level of energy into walking her dog.

Maybe this is BEC but I find it really funny when she applies factor 50 suncream every day and never leaves the house 😅😅😅

The irony being, she ends the post about how she will fuck up, get it wrong and that and it’s good to chat about such topics. Yet, she won’t afford that to anyone she disagrees with and labels them Nazis or bigots in the process. One rule for you ay Sofie 👍🏻

With people like Sofie I wonder half the time whether what they actually say is true. She seems incredibly narcissistic, self-centred and lacks any accountability. Trauma seems to be used so regularly as a catch all excuse for her poor behaviour rather than any acknowledgement of what was done wrong and how she can learn from it.
I think this is true of a lot of these kinds of people. Their stories are quite obviously embellished but because they touch upon trauma/oppression/whatever, they can't be questioned about it because that would constitute fatphobia/invalidating their trauma/whatever.

I feel like pandora's box has been opened giving these people a platform and I honestly don't know how it's happened. I have heard her in podcasts and seen her comedy, she's not particularly endearing, doesn't have any charm and isn't especially funny or intelligent and is just trotting out the same shit as everyone else in her sphere of the Internet at the moment. We need to stop making these people famous.

especially as there isn't a clear guide of who she could share this with or why
Hmm, I find it all quite sinister. The information she's asking about (sexual orientation, income, etc) is extremely sensitive and she's given no indication as to what she's using it for or whether she's keeping it confidential.

Only Sofie would ask her followers to complete an extremely personal and time-consuming survey and then criticise how they complete it though. 🤣🤣🤣

They are the absolute epitome of someone who has spent too much time on leftist Twitter and can only talk in therapy speak. Would love to know what happened behind the scenes at The Guilty Feminist - Deborah Frances-White has always struck me as the very worst kind of smug white feminist type, so I wonder if Sofie has reacted to that by trying to go the other way.

Someone has branched out to tiktok and their daily routine is exactly what you’d expect (poor hungry Hank - and no proper walk obv)

I know she has this whole thing about how nothing is 'lazy' and lazy is a capitalist construct meant to oppress us all (lol, sure, I'm sure feudal systems really supported doing fuck all) but this is lazy. Like, you're not lying on your phone scrolling because you're having a bad mental health day, you're doing it because you're lazy.

oooft I’m back - once again Sofie takes ideas from intersectional activists and applies them in the completely wrong way - since when was ‘people on vacation’ an oppressed group LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think the idea of ‘laziness’ can be used to oppress people when it stems from ableism or when you apply it to marginalised groups of people as a whole - and I think that’s very real when it comes to toxic productivity, medical settings (the amount of times I’m told I’d cure my incurable illness via exercise and weight loss lmao), the benefits system and who we see as ‘deserving’ of success/support/wealth. But that doesn’t mean laziness doesn’t exist?!?

‘essential rest’ isn’t a way to try and justify neglecting your actual responsibilities (like walking your dog that you CHOSE to buy).

Laziness does exist and it doesn’t necessarily make you a bad person - yeah if you don’t want to get dressed then do what you want I don’t care, but when it starts negatively affecting those that you are responsible for (LIKE YOUR DOG) then it’s obviously a problem!?!
Well said 👏🏻

At some point in your life you have to take responsibility for your life and stop giving into every negative urge

Seems like Sofie has made it to the front page of reddit, under the cringe subreddit 🤯

I can't seem to find the tweet, they must have deleted it - the comments on that subreddit are also usually incredibly hateful and directed - but why oh WHY would you tweet this?!
